Ideal location just off Vaci Utca, a quick walk to the river and market place, and just across the bridge to Gellert spa and cave church. Great breakfast, free wifi in room, 24 hour security so you can come home anytime, and very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely old building with beautiful big windows that open onto the street. A lovely way to experience the beautiful city that is Budapest. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel :)
My room got quite stuffy and hot at night. Need to keep window open in which case you will get some street noise. There is a fan but no air conditioning.
I really enjoyed staying at the Peregrinus Hotel. It is in an old, historic building with high ceilings. It is in an excellent location, right off of Vaci Utca, but on a quiet street. The breakfast was good, with a lot of selections. It was a really good value. I would definitely come back here.
I don't think all of the rooms had air conditioning although we did not need it during our stay.
Very nice stay at very good price. Staff at reception very helpful in organizing taxis ect
Everything was good
Location, good price, kind staff. Breakfast buffet was ok, not extraordinary though. Bed ok, but i can sleep anywhere. Everything clean. Wifi very good.
No hairdryer, no iron in room - seems that costs are cut wherever possible. Loud radio in breakfast room, but when i asked volume was turned down.
The location is really great. This hotel is a three star hotel and that makes it value for money. They have bikes!! How cool..
The rooms are warm and you need to leave the windows open. Thats it.
location in inner city is great for foreign travelers for sightseeing, dining, and shopping. The neighborhood is clean and quiet in the night. The hotel has a cute old-fashion look with high-ceilings and big windows. It's good value for money.
Under-staffing, There is only one man on night-shift, which is the concierge, when I asked for an extra towel at 9:30 pm, he said it's impossible because it's late and housekeeping is off. This can't be a 3-star hotel.
The location is perfect for someone who has never been in Budapest before: close to the river and just off Vaci street.
The furniture is old, no AC in the room which is a real problem in summer, small bathroom, small shower with low water pression- it is more a 2 star hotel. The booking rate of this hotel should be around 6.
friendly staff, good location and nice breakfast
Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location within the city, but still in a quiet street. The rental bikes are the absolutely best way to explore the city. Everything is clean. The room is not very big, but the furniture is good, and you have everything what you need.
Room on third floor gets quite hot in summer, but there is A/C. I missed the "real" coffee for breakfast, but it's not a big deal to go for a coffee in any cafe nearby.
The location was great- close to the main market and to vaci ut. The room was nice. The breakfast buffet was nice. Wifi. You can rent a bike (free of charge).
No air condition, but a far only.
The staff - especially Kitty - were wonderful. Sent us to a fabulous restaurant. We also had immediate response from housekeeping. Yummy breakfast too. Definitely a vintage feel - like a step back in time to a less hectic world.
No air conditioning, ice or a working Tv. Opened bed to find hair on sheets. Luckily housekeeping provided a fan which helped with the heat. Maybe this stuff is standard in Europe but it would help if we knew this ahead of checking in.
A few blocks to different transportation options, easy to get to from the train station. Clean spacious room.
Breakfast could have had a little more variety, and near the end of serving time they were short on some options - but generally it was acceptable. Wifi was intermittent and would cut out more than work on the top floor.
Terrible wifi in the room, very hot on the upper floor under the roof
We spent a couple of days in Peregrinus and we had a really wonderful stay in there. All three receptionist were very kind and helpful, speaking English fluently. Breakfast was really good, we had a wide selection of cheese, hams, bakery and drinks. Peregrinus is located in the heart of the downtown, but on a very quiet historical street at the same time. You can get everywhere by walk or thank to metro, as the Kalvin ter station is nearby. I would definitely recommend Peregrinus to everybody who wants to spent a couple of days in Budapest and its beautiful downtown.
There's nothing we didn't like or miss in Peregrinus.
beautiful old house. friendly staff. silent and efficient air conditioning in our 3rd floor room. excellent breakfast. value for money
I heard from friends that only top floor rooms have air conditioning. I would have needed it in any room .
The staff are very polite and helpful, especially the overnight receptionist (Gabor), he is very friendly and extremely helpful; he is a credit to the hotel. The location of the hotel is spot on for sightseeing and traveling around the city, and very close to the famous indoor market. We would stay there again, (just to say Hello again to Gabor).
The water system is a bit slow in the bath room and there is not a lot of room in the shower but to us it was not too much of a problem.
The staff were very friendly even though my hungarian wasn't the best, especially the housekeeping team. The whole team at Peregrinus Hotel were very helpful and attentive to my needs. Highly recommend this place if you are going to Budapest, extremely good location!
I liked the quiet and good location. My room was on the inside and had a nice plain view. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt at home here.
The breakfast was simple, but sufficient. Bathroom/WC was quit small.
No air conditioning, no warm water
What wonderful breakfasts and with a very thoughtful server. The room was large and just fine. Bathroom was good, there was a hair dryer downstairs for me to borrow. There was a conference group attending something at the University and they were interesting to talk to. I loved the winding staircase up - didn't need to use the elevator.
Liked it all.
The quietness at night, the comfortable bed and the lovely architecture.
The breakfast was a little dull.
I have stayed in the Peregrinus on a number of occasions. It is second to none. Wonderfully located for shopping, eating and going to the opera. The group I was part of all enjoyed the Peregrinus and praised it highly to me. I shall definitely be returning.!
There was absolutely nothing I did not enjoy.
