Hotel Senator-Ház Eger  

We were in the Pension, NOT the main hotel. The suite was new, very well designed and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was particularly roomy and modern. The restaurant is superb. The Dobo Ter location is enchanting. The gomba (mushroom) soup, veal paprikas, and GIANT turkey schnitzel are favorites. The service is excellent as well.

The owner/senior manager of the Senator can be a bit overbearing in his manner, at times. He runs a superb establishment though, so he has a lot of stress.

The owner is a very nice and helpful person; the location is the best one can desire in Eger; the hotel is very lively but, at the same time, the room I had was quiet; reception, hall, breakfast room are very cosy and nice. The buffet breakfast is standard, but ok.

The tv set in my room was from the early 80s; perhaps it's time to buy new TVs..

Everything was great! Very nice, authentic & cozy small hotel in the perfect location. The food in the restaurant was very good and decent priced, service both in the restaurant and hotel also was great. I really enjoyed staying there.

Sound isolation in the rooms is quite poor, so can be a problem, if outside is noisy or you have noisy neighbours. I asked for a double bed room, but got twin. (but none of these 2 things disturbed me)

Everything was just perfect! Nice, traditional looking place, big and clean room. Location is perfect, close to everything. Very good food and last but not least very nice staff. Thank you! Köszönjük!

A wonderful location directly below the castle in the cobbled old part of this lovely town. The hotel is an old inn, and its reception area and landing are wonderfully stuffed with antiques, art nouveau knick knacks and old furniture. The rooms, however, are modern and a good size. This hotel has real character.

No lift, though we were given help with luggage. The hotel is entirely surrounded by restaurants and bars, so not great if you go to bed early (though in general it was quiet by about 11.30pm). Our room was very hot at night, even on the cooler days, and air conditioning was via a vented cooling unit which didn't work consistenly, and was a bit noisy. Hotel is difficult to find/access, as it is in the middle of the old city, and most of the approaches are pedestrianised. However, in general these were simply the price you paid for the location and character of this hotel.

The excellent location and good food

Very well run family hotel in superb location to soak up Eger environment. Excellent restaurant. Comfortable accommodation at this standard considering age of building. Good parking available. We would not stay anywhere else on a future occasion.

Just give clearer instruction on entry point for access to hotel by car.

It is an excellent hotel in the city, nice staff, nice building, nice rooms.

We were accomodated in the nearby annex - we had a bright, well-furnished room and small sitting area. Everything was clean and well-thought out - even the supply of coloured towels for use in the spas. The location is on the main square yet quiet in the annex, and we had an enclosed courtyard where guests could relax. The breakfast was good and we ate in the hotel restaurant both nights: traditional food and a reasonably priced house wine. We would certainly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Everything is just great!! The staff is very nice. And it is in the city centre!!
