The hotel is stunning, we couldn't believe the quality of the fittings and furniture as well as the size of the rooms. It was incredible value for the price we paid even for the Bronze Apartment. Absolutely immaculate. We also enjoyed the position as it was very quiet and in the beautiful castle district in Buda, although away from the action on the other side of the river, Pest was easily accessible by bus, metro or walk. They even lend umbrellas which we needed on one night. As others mentioned, the food was not good, neither the breakfast or room service, but generally it was difficult to find good food in the city compared to other cities. Also if you want to be in the heart of the action I'd recommend to stay on the Pest side, Buda is more quiet and relaxing.

Unfortenately we had a bad experience because part of the ceiling went down so the room was a big mess aftre we came back from dinner ,the staff was very kind and helped out as much as they could to change rooms and clean a little but our stuff that was full of dust. .They informed the manager .she did not come but told the staff to give us a discount. The next day when we were checking out and she came to her office she was informed by the reception that we were the unlucky people.she didn,t even came out of the office to speak to us or apalogize or say hello. We considered that as the worst part.so teh rating excellent is for the staaf .for the mamager more than poor. .

The room is very spacious. With historic atmosphere but very modern equipments. The breakfast is awesome and also we enjoyed eating lunch in the hotel restaurant or drank beer in the garden. If you carry a lot of luggage as we do, it would be a little tiring to take public transportation to hotel because you have to take metro and then castle mini-bus. Taking random taxi on the road may be very expensive so if the hotel can provide the info of shuttle bus or taxi to hotel in advance, that would be definitely a plus.

The hotel was wonderful. We booked the bronze room & it was perfect, large bedroom, large dining-kitchen area & a lovely bathroom. Only knows what the larger rooms were like? But ours was great, & the hotel is in a great location. I would defenatly recommend it. Really can't think of anything bad to say about the hotel. Maybe if I was forced to right something then I could only mention that if you have a room on the road side, the cobble stones make a bit of noise when cars go by but you get used to it.

Very helpful and courteous staff, very nice and spacious suite, very nice decor to hotel and suites and restaurant. Great dining experience in restaurant for dinner and very reasonably priced with excellent service. The location was very good for access to Buda area and sightseeing of it and was quieter than the busier tourist areas of Pest. That said, most of the action and sightseeing and shopping and restaurant experiences are in the Pest area so it did mean having to walk a ways or take some form of transit facilty to experience the Pest part of the city..

Everything was enjoyable, bottle of wine in the room when we got there - not the best but free :) Nice room off the courtyard, birds singing in the morning. I would stay again. Just like everyone else was saying the breakfast. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great.

Firstly, the receptionist who received us on Feb 4 in the afternoon, and was also there on Sunday am, was absolutely charming and highly professional, going out of her way to help me negotiate the harsh weather conditions and being attentive to each and every of our needs. Breakfast was top-notch and left nothing to be desired for. We were also able to have it as room-service for no extra charge. The ground-floor suites are comfortable and beautifully furnished. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is luxurious and also very comfortable. Although the suite was clean in general, I had the impression that the sheets were not immaculate-there is a practice (not noticed by supervisors and managers?) whereby sheets are not changed if guests only spend one or two nights at the hotel...I Would expect immaculate beds in every hotel category as the minimum standard to measure the accommodation by. I would advise the hotel management to place handrails on both sides of the three marble (!) steps that lead to the ground floor suites. I am handicapped and it was snowing with -10o temperatures, therefore the marble steps were frozen and slippery, despite the sollicitous care of the cleaning staff who took great precautions to salt the walkway leading to the suites. The marble steps would also benefit from anti-slip strips, including when it is not icy, just wet.

The hotel is located in the upper town and within the walls of the historic city. You must take a ticket to enter the old city. A little hard to find when you do not know. The location of this hotel is exellent, away from the congestion of the lower town, but very easy and fast to go in the lower town.

Quiet area, Spacious, elegant rooms. Although the hotel is in a quiet area, we found you could hear people walking outside in the corridor, and we were kept awake by someone's tv in a room above us.

I was extremely impressed during our stay at St George Residence. We visited it on our honeymoon. It is conveniently located in Castle Hill. The hotel is gorgeous!! We rented a bronze suite. It was very large and beautifully decorated. The price could not be beat. It was very affordable, yet we felt like we got a hotel worth three times the price. I highly recommend this to any traveler -- couples and families alike. Also, make sure to try the hotel restaurant. The food is great! Nothing. The hotel is an amazing value.

St,George Residence offered me a very wonderful room whose furniture was so luxurious and comfortable, especially the bed was very wide and soft. You will feel relaxed in the room. Some staffs lack of hospitality apparently. They did not answer at all when I greeted them. They seemed to be so rude and impolite when they offered me their services. There was no menu of the room service ,no laundry bag,and no bathrobe in the room. Breakfast was simple, but deserved only 3 stars, not 5 stars.

It is a beautiful hotel, right in the centre of Varhegy. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed. Can't be better located for tourists. Minor compliant being a lack of an elevator, which is on account of the age of the original building.

As many other comments, very nice historic building renovated with good taste, antique furniture, plenty of room, free parking in the front of the hotel. We have really enjoyed our stay in Budapest. Although I would 100% recommend hotel and the value for money is great, some things are not on the 5* level. - Large double bed was not large double but 2 single - Breakfast is ok for 3-4* hotel, but not for 5* - no elevator

The location is absolutely perfect - it is much better staying in Buda with several good eating places very close. The hotel was spotless, the rooms very spacious, and the whole place suggests luxury. Breakfast a bit variable- meats, cheeses and breads excellent. However ran out of normal tea, bacon and pastries on certain days. Fruit salad is tinned, orange juice really poor, and if you come late the coffee is stewed. Definitely not 5 star. Some members of staff really helpful - the others are efficient but without being friendly or going the extra mile. Bath has only got hand held shower, so really impractical for a quick shower in the morning ( or evening for that!)

This hotel offered a wonderful experience in the quiet of Buda. Staff delivered exceptional service especially Istvan. He went above and beyond every day we were there. Our cab ride from the station was a nasty introduction to the rouge cab drivers of Budapest and Istvan even helped us before we registered by coming out to the driver to manage the scam. The town and this lovely spot is a quiet respite from the exciting energy of Pest at the end of the day and there are many sites within a few blocks if you grow tired of Pest. This was one of the best hotel experiences during a three week tour of Central Europe. The only drawback would be the stairs (no elevator) but it is quite easy to have porters help you getting luggage to and from your room.

I liked everything: the location of the hotel (in the old part of Buda, near the bridge section), number (lived in bronze) service. Very hospitable and friendly staff. The restaurant at the hotel are extremely delicious. Special thanks to Diana, Lena, and Istvan. Inconvenient to wash in the bathroom because of the lack of curtains
