everything.ms renata at front desk was particularly helpful.
I liked everything
It will be very good if you can make a small fitness and spa
The hotel, antiques, staff, the location and foods quite tasty.
Prefer the 3rd bed is a proper bed rather than a sofa bed.
Very nice place, nice and quite room.
There were only few TV programmes available- not more than 10 in different languages, of course. This is not what you would expect nowadays- especially in the hart of Budapest in a five stars establishment.
No availability of a printer to view and print an airline boarding pass.
Spacious and clean suite beautifully decorated and furnished. Great location in Buda Castle area and lovely local restaurants.
Breakfast quite expensive
fast replys to questions late check out because of baby with no extra charge possible extremly friendly staff
nothing. it was perfect
The rooms were like staying in a stately home, huge and full of antiques. The bathroom was equally as impressive. Welcome glass of Champagne on arrival was a lovely surprise!
There was nothing to dislike!
We really enjoyed our brief stay. The location is excellent. On the far more quiet, histrorical and exclusive side of Buda. The staff in particular the always welcoming Istvan and our charming waiter Peter were excellent and deserve high praise. The building itself is wonderfully furnished, with beautiful details to be found everywhere. We were in the very spacious room/suite on the second floor overlooking the courtyard which had access to our own lounge on the landing which was a nice touch. The jacuzzi bath was a great addition. We had booked the romantic package and we can recommend this as definitely offering value for money. Overall it was a fantastic weekend getaway. I would highly recommend the St George.
We arranged an airport pickup with the hotel however we had to contact them upon arrival as there was no sign of our driver at the terminal gate. (This was sorted out after 15 mins- they used an external local taxi company to arrange pick ups) Cost of pick up was around £30 GBP (although on the way back we paid £22). The few pillows on our bed were poor and not in keeping with the rest of the lovely furnishings. It would have been nice to have a full length mirror somewhere in the room especially as there was no wardrobe to take up much space. Also we were charged for a breakfast coffee upon check out which we weren't told was not included in our price...(although these are certainly minor gripes, which should not deter any visitors)
From the friendly reception to the final farewell everything was perfectly well. The public places, the suite were sparkling clean, the restaurant had a fine chef and an attentive staff and great ambiance. Me and my wife enjoyed every minute of our stay in this historical part of Budapest. The location is ideal for people, who appreciate great views, historical buildings, great food and do not mind walking in cobblestone covered streets. The city center, full of shops and good restaurants, theatres and music halls can be reached in 10-15 minutes by bus, the bus stop is nearby, taxi service is quick and available at short notice. We will definitely come back again.
There is nothing we did not like.
spacious luxury apartment with large kitchen area, bedroom and bathroom.
Concierge was not the most helpful.
The room was very quiet, clean and well positioned to visit Buda by foot. We arrived early and were able to get into the room straight away.
The Hotel has 5 stars above the door. Although it was a nice Hotel for the price we paid, it is definately NOT 5 star. The welcome drink was a nice idea but we were given a table in the breakfast room while the waiters were moving chairs and clearing things away. Not very welcoming.
We had a 'Gold' room, which was very spacious and, for once in a hotel, exceptionally clean. More than ample space for two with plenty of storage and hangers. Easy parking outside (pay the parking at the hotel) and a quiet location yet a choice of food places in the evening. Quickest hotel wifi too at 38mb!
Reception staff are a bit disinterested. Got the feeling they are clockwatching to go home and weren't particully interested when I reported the whirlpool bath wasn't working. I don't think it'll be working for the next few guests either. It may be their second nicest room, but they have very little natual light, with only one external window and the air conditioning struggles with keeping the rooms cool. Expect some noise at night. Also, you can hear the staff in the service corridors behind the walls moving about so they don't have to use the main stairwell. Shame the kitchen doesn't have a grill and has limited utensils, though fine for basics for two people.
Our suite was very spacious and comfortable. Heated floors in the bathroom were fantastic! Wonderful find in a wonderful city!
Would have liked an actual shower instead of the tub with detachable shower head. Because this is an historical building there are no elevators, which could be an issue for some but neither of these would keep us from staying there again.
Location Size of room
Charged $200 for one parcel of laundry. Aircon very poor WIFI very weak.
Big rooms Great location Good value for money
Charged our friends $200 for one batch of laundry !!!! After a discussion dropped it to $100 but still very expensive. Very poor air conditioning. Had to open windows.
The hotel is magnificent, an old palace, totally restored with beautifully and luxuriously appointed suites. Our room comprised a suite of two large rooms plus a dressing room and bathroom. Incredible value for the price. It even had a kitchenette. The location is lovely, in the Castle district, and just a pleasant stroll down to the river. There were several nice cafés in easy walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We used the hotel laundry service just for washing a medium sized bag of clothes ( not dry cleaning and only three items needed ironing, the rest was T shirts and underwear ) we were flabbergasted when they tried to charge us $200.00! We thought it must have been a mistake but they were adamant that it was correct and we should have been aware as the prices were listed. Yes, they were, but I think we miscalculated due to being unfamiliar with the currency. After complaining they reduced the price to $100.00 which was still ridiculous and almost as much as the price of the room for a night. It was a real shame, as everything else was so lovely, and it left a bad feeling at the conclusion of an otherwise fantastic experience. So be warned - DONT use their laundry service!
Great location in the probably most beautiful area of the city, only 5min away from fisherman's bastion. Large rooms and very useful kitchen arrangement. Nice furniture looking antique - fits ideally for honeymoon! We have even seen a wedding celebration in the nice atrium.
Very bad WiFi coverage (at least in our room). Difficult to take a shower as only a bathtub was installed, but no shower curtain. The AC did not cool down, but just whirl the room air.
The location is great, very close to the Matthias Church and in walking distance to the chain bridge. It is quiet in the night. Our room is quite a big one, with nice facilities and a pretty good kitchen. The staff were nice and helpful.
The decorative objects of the furnitures (the small round table in our room) are a little bit rough, I got my finger cut on that.
Great design, excelent location, very clean.
Locality, Hop on Hop Off station nearby, helpful staff, nice rooms...
Nice ancient chairs bit uncomfortable for long seat ;-) Restaurant closes at 22.00
Friendly staff that'll do their best to accommodate your requests, beautiful and well designed spaces, quality wifi
Location too quiet at night
Fairly quiet place away from all the tourist. Easy to get to any location
I loved the furniture, the building, the wine, the service, the location. The manager was super friendly and showed us the rest of the building-possible destination for a wedding party. It was amazing.
When I arrived, the younger female receptionist told me I might have come to the wrong hotel instead of looking up for my booking. It made me feel not welcome.
