Good location, lovely staff, nice breakfast. Restaurants and bars nearby and city centre only few quids away.
Perfect place! Beautiful and modern hotel, very clean and comfortable. Quiet location but only 2 min walking from the busy street with restaurants and travel agencies. Lovely owners will help you with everything and give you priceless tips about Yogyakarta.
- quick response of the staff - the owner was very helpful when we needed a bigger room, which was actually available - breakfast was nice, although there were only 2 choices - very clean, the towels was changed daily - very quite location
- the cafes/restaurants nearby are far from cheap/affordable for indonesian's wallets - a little far away from Malioboro by foot, you have to take a becak or a cab :-) -no swimming pool ;-)
Staff were very polite, cleanliness and the complimentary breakfast. Over all the service was good.
Wifi inside the room was not good.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We loved this place! Room is simple, but super cozy and clean. Bed is really comfy, too :) Special thanks to owners: Made from France and his wife from Indonesia - very friendly and nice couple! They helped us with travel information as well as with car booking to go to Borobudur and Prambanan. And we really enjoyed this day trip. Aloha Hotel is located close to the Yogya's sights - you can take a short walk or take a riksha to downtown. There are also many nice restaurants and coffee shops nearby. They also provide a good breakfast with fresh fruits. If you need to go up early for a day trip, they prepare a take off breakfast and give it to you in a box, so you can eat it in a car. Again, we really enjoyed our stay at Aloha Hotel. It is a great place with a great owners!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights whilst exploring Yogyakarta and totally loved it. The French owner Made (that's his Indonesian name) and his wife were brilliant. They provided us each morning with typical local style breakfast (some which are rare treats) as an alternative to the western style breakfast, and we loved it! If you're afraid to try local food, then this is one way to do so. They also helped us out with many adhoc things, saving us money. Place is very clean and comfortable and close to Via Via and Milas for those who want vegetarian options and eco travel.
Wifi not too good in room, better down in reception area.
We arrived by train at 6am and they had a clean room waiting for us. The couple that own the place (French guy & his wife) made us feel so welcome and nothing was a problem for them. They helped us book tours, gave advice on the rates to pay for taxis. Actually just anything they could help with they went out of their way to do so. All the staff here were amazing. We were so impressed by everyone working here! Even the guy working night shift went out of his way to ensure we had a good stay. Breakfast good, room clean and tidy. Sheets even smelled clean!! Honestly if you are planning to stay in the area stay here. You will not be disappointed, best place we have have stayed in Indonesia easily!!!
Can't say anything was bad at all
Very nice place to stay, really friendly staff which can hel u with everything. Good Breakfast with Toast, Egg, Fruits and Tea/Coffee! Very nice place
WIFI not too strong in the room but in the lobby absolutely perfect! ;-)
It was fairly well located, helpful staff and nice ambiance. The french boss is a super funny guy, full of stories. If I went to Yogya again, I'd definitely stay there.
Just a small detail: The airco was a little bit too small for the size of the room
The hotel is run by a French gentleman and his lovely Indonesian wife. They are always into a friendly chat and offer great information about the city and can arrange trips for you. We took the the trip to Borobudur and Prambanan temple and it was excellent. The breakfast is the best we had yet with fresh fruit, toast, cheese omelet, fresh coffee and Indonesian pastry. The room was comfortable and clean. There is free coffee or tea 24/7 (tip: try the ginger coffee) Staff was lovely. I can't imagine a better hotel for this budget. Highly recommended.
The bed is very squeaky. The fan in the bathroom is annoyingly loud.
Very clean, very organized, very nice breakfast, great location, tv, aircon, confy bed. The owner is amazing and has lots of good stories and information to give. The staff is really hard work, always looking after you, cleaning everything, helping you out. They even made us a take away breakfast on the day of our early morning tour. Felt like home, congratulations for the amazing staff!
Perfectly located - great restaurants (Milas!!!), shops, spas and art galleries nearby; cosy little rooms with all you need, everything very clean; very nice and helpful staff, the French owner is outstanding; all in all: perfect
The staff! They were unbelievably warm, welcoming, and helpful. Room was nice and quiet yet comfortable. They even made a breakfast-to-go on my last day as I was en route to the airport...at 6:30am!
Wifi signal wasn't very strong or consistent but I found that to be true for almost all of indonesia, not just this particular hotel.
Clean rooms and beds. Very helpful staff . Good value for money
The ac for the rooms seems inadequate as it takes very long to cool the room. Of the 2 nites we stayed, the ac broke down after 1 day . The owner, immediately changed the room, without a fuss, but this requires attention .Wifi is a bit weak on the 1st floor
The room, small but clean and confortable. The personal/staff nice and helpful. Tea/Coffee available 24/7. Location is good.
Wifi very unestable most of the time, very very very slow, sometimes didn't work at all. A/C didn't work good sometimes was not confortable in the room, very hot. Breakfast small/basic/limited no much taste in the omelette/egg except the plate of fruits that it was fine and fresh.
- Location is good, near everything - The owner, Mr. Made was very helpful. So does the staffs. - Value for money
staff very friendly and helpful, nice place with atmosphere, great value for given price
weak wi-fi in hotel room
Like other reviewers said, this hotel super clean! The hospitality from all staffs and the owner itself really make the guests feel homy. The breakfast also good! Its not buffet, but the choices of Nasi Goreng or Bread is more than enough for that price. I enjoy bread+omelet, complete with butter, cheese, and jams. And they also give us fruit platter and Surabi Solo. What a nice touch! Definitely will be back to Aloha Hotel whenever come to Jogjakarta.
everything! lovely staffs, humorous French boss, delicious breakfest, clean room and good price!!
very good value for money extra friendly stuff very good location
Staff is very friendly and helpfull. The hotel is brand new with nice and clean rooms. Very quiet in a small street off the main road. Only a few minutes walk from nice restaurants. Bus to Malioboro Street is not far away. Rita and Made have very good ideas for nice excursions which are not expensive. Breakfast is very good with every day a typical Javanese speciality added. Every time when you come back at the hotel you are welcomed with free coffee or tea and the staff is really interested in your ideas about Yokyakarta. It feels then if coming home! Nearby is ViaVia, a very nice travellers café where they offer some special excursions. We did the Religion tour and the Kali Code walk, a different way to understand a little bit of the ways of living at Yokyakarta. There is so much to do and to see in Yokyakarta that we recommend you to stay a few days at this hotel. We spent here 7 nights, but it was far too short! Thanks everybody for a nice stay!
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, quiet yet central location. Very reasonable price for good quality accommodation.
Staff members were very friendly and helped me with arranging day trip to Borobudur & Prambanan even though I checked in quite late.
Wi-Fi a bit weak but ok for checking email or so
Little hotel with super friendly staff, wonderfull location : a street away from restaurants and 15 min by Becak to Maliboro Street. Wonderfull room with good bed and shower, breakfast is basic but more than ok for us, price - quality : fantastic!
The staff is very nice and the service is excellent. Our room was impeccable in terms of cleanliness. Everything in the room works really well. The location is not superb as its a bit far from the main centre and attractions, but still close to lots of restaurants, atms and such. Really good value for money.
Wifi signal was a bit poor. Not the end of the world though, specially because you can get good signal (and free cofee/tea) in the main area.
