There is not really much wrong with this hotel as such, it's just that (compared to the places right next to it and elsewhere in Bali) the value for money is not very good. The thing is, a couple of the places right next door look equally nice (several have nicer, lusher grounds) and cost a third to half the price of Aman Gati, and I never found that Aman Gati had the extra to make up for the price difference. Paper thin walls in otherwise nice bungalows, you'll hear everything that's going on (to be fair, this will be the same in the neighboring places too). A nice pool, but not as green and nice garden as some of the other places. A very standard breakfast equal to what you get at much cheaper places. A new restaurant, but no life and no atmosphere (again comparing to neighboring hotels), rooms don't have a kettle and coffee/tea, as you find in many other places. And what's with not getting hot water/water at all in the shower? At the rate charged, I just expect more. Stay here if the cheaper places around are fully booked (as we did), otherwise, save your money and pick one of the neighbors.
Nice location in walking distance to the beach.
