Score from 88 reviews Very good
Loved the tranquil gardens surrounding the rooms. The pool was well positioned. The restaurants served quality food at reasonable prices. We ate there during our whole stay, great variety. The shuttle was realy handy, but we didn't find it necessary to leave the grounds as everything we needed was in close proximity. I like to try different accomodation every time in Bali, but this is one I know I will return to.
Gardens very beautiful Pool aesthetically great Room really lovely With great view Staff all fantastic and helpful . Loved access to arts classes and free cultural events at the museum theatre Food delicious and spa staff good too.
Bathroom shower pretty dodgy and dripping toilet . On a couple of afternoons there was loud construction noise nearby but it was only for a few hours at least.
The Arma is so beautifully designed. The attention to detail in the gardens is delightful. We loved our rooms. The pool is serene. The restaurants great. The founding principles of the resort with its museum and commitment to cultural activities is impressive and absorbing. We went on the mysticism sunset tour with Mr Agung Rai the founder and that was a fascinating opportunity to see Ubud in a completely different way and to better understand Balinese culture. We can't wait to come back.
Arma offers a rare ambience in beautiful surrounds. Beautiful gardens, rice fields, and a gorgeous pool. There was so much added value included in our stay - cake, tea and coffee every afternoon as well as the delicious breakfast and free entry to the art museum. The staff were the best I've come across and did everything they could to make our stay absolutely enjoyable. As frequent visitors to Bali, Arma Resort gave us a truly memorable experience.
Fantastic Garden setting, quiet, great restaurant, nice spacey room, nice pool
Breakfast good be better
Having to leave
- Personal is VERY kindly - Breakfast is one of the best ever seen - The resort area is very quiet
Seriously, the most beautiful place to stay. We adored it. The staff were friendly, helpful and prompt. The villa, pool and garden were just divine and we could have just stayed in the resort. The gardens are incredible and the buildings and layout so artistically performed. We loved it.
Only a couple of minor things, the electric international sockets didn't work well, one of the kettles didn't work and one of the phones didn't.
Beautiful riverside setting, right next to the art museum, craft lessons by very skilled professionals, building architecture delightful, peaceful and quiet area, scores of orchids each labelled on the tree.
No TV. Not wheelchair accessible. If you want to be in the middle of town it is a 25 minute walk. On the way there are dozens of shops and restaurants.
The hotel is located in a beautiful gardens with water features and pool: a great choice for a relax vacation
Rooms are very standard so it should be less expensive
The grounds are lovely and serene, the arma restaurant is well worth a visit.
If you take the shuttle into town make sure you know where the pick up place is and confirm the pick up time.
I stayed Arma for 3 days with my friend. The room is a bit plan to compare with other hotels, but the facilities are valuable to stay over there. beautiful views.. the breakfast is great as well. the staffs are so kind and friendly.
the shower system was a bit strange. it was difficult to control the water(hot and cold) and drain system was not good, but still acceptable and combinent.
The beautifull surroundings in the garden and the nice family villas was way above expectations. Also the beautifull art museum was an unexpected treat on the facilities.
Very nice pool. Good location just outside the busy Ubud centre. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Beautiful gardens. Nice breakfast
A bit on the pricey side. Perhaps it was because of the Jazz festival that was going on whilst we were there.
Beautiful gardens, lovely Thai restaurant and helpful staff.
Rooms seriously need updating. We booked a deluxe room, and sadly it looked nothing like the pictures on the internet. The bathroom was old, there was no mosquito nets and the air conditioning was completely ineffective.
Gardens & landscapes Friendly and competent staff Location Quietness and serenity Cultural activities in and around hotel
Somewhat limited breakfast menu Limited comfort in some older rooms
This was the highlight of our Indonesia trip- the hotel gets a 10/10 from me! the location is perfect!! cant wait to go back!
Arma continues to show Balinese culture and art to it's guests. Staff very attentive and helpful. Free bus to Ubud is great. The Spa is amazing - well worth dedicating an afternoon to treatments.
The best thing about this hotel was the gardens and the area!
Lying to the guests!! I've booked a deluxe room and they gave me a standard room without mosquito net! I find out when in booking was saying that the room had a mosquito net!! Then the other room didn't have again a mosquito net again! It's a shame that a hotel like this has bad staff!
Beautiful villa architecture - private and like own private Bali home. Lovely pool, water features and views of rice paddies. Gardens are wonderful.
Villa bathrooms are open air extensions of the room (though enclosed). Fine in daytime but feels less secure for a night-time bathroom visit. Some room facilities (kettle, cups, phone etc) could do with updating. Important to be aware that 2 bedroom villa actually requires a walk around the pool to move from one to another; therefore not ideal for all families. Buffet breakfast is somewhat sparse - especially given high room rates.
Loved the garden more than anything.
The first room I stayed in needed doing up, but the villa was amazing.
Wonderful resort at the southern-end of Ubud with beautiful garden, running stream, lily pond, and rice patty fields. The resort offers privacy and quiet relaxation. It also contains own art museum with wonderful collection, offers classes on Indonesian arts & dance, evening traditional dance performance. We met its owner, Agung Rai, who is a friendly and gentle man; and all is staff are great & helpful.
The resort grounds require walking and going up/down stone steps; hence may be difficult for elderly or disable person. Also, the resort is a short-distance away from the main center of Ubud; the resort provides shuttle bus services or else need to rent a car/taxi. Bring a flash light which is handy if you walk around at night (in the resort and in Ubud town).
the resort was like staying in a living cultural resort, with its own art gallery, museum and open air stage, paddy fields, statues, garden pool, etc. Room was beautiful as were restaurants and food.
Not a complaint but need to take insect repellant for mosquitoes especially in the evening.
I have just returned from a fabulous three days at Arma museum resort. My friends and I shared a villa with an adjoining pool and it was pure bliss!!!! The staff were beautifully accommodating and the grounds of the hotel were stunning, traditional and peaceful! The private pool in our villa was to die for! We especially loved the inclusions of the free meal and free 30 minute massage at the day spa which was gorgeous.. The soundtrack at the day spa was the sounds of nature of the resort- such a blissful way to end our stay in Bali. Please check this place out!
This was the perfect mix of luxury and culture. The resort goes to great lengths to preserve the true culture of Bali in luxurious, friendly surroundings. You can spend the whole captivated by the surroundings. The free shuttle is a great plus.
Be prepared to be surrounded by nature. Monkeys and large insects are around. Just be prepared for that.
