Efficient & pleasant staff Decoration of the place Quality of the food Nice garden & swimming pool
Too far from the city centre (40') On a very noisy road, although not in the city centre
The staff and surroundings were faultless, it was tempting to stay by the pool and eat in the excellent restaurant and leave the exploring to others. When we did venture out the efficient staff arranged everything for us, nothing was too much trouble. Our children were well catered for too and made to feel welcome to the point of the staff playing with them in the garden and pool! We had been staying in the centre of Yogja so it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle in this oasis of calm. The attention to detail was great too - such as incense in the room and the owner gave me a tour of her father's funky paintings.
The road was slightly noisy but not enough to keep us awake at night. There are mossies around and no nets so bring your spray etc. It takes around 40 minutes to get into Jogja so don't stay here if you're planning a city break.
This homestay is very well run, and works very well. Although it sems to be quite far out from the bustle of Yogyakarta, this is a plus point as it felt great to escape the city and head to the homestay which is on the fringes, and just an inexpensive taxi ride away. The 4 best things about the homestay are the very attentive staff who are always there to help with good english, the lovely rooms, very tastefully decorated and very comfortable, the fantatstic garden and grounds which are wel kept and are grat fro relaxing in, and most of all, the food, all cooked by the lady who runs the place. Extremely tasty and attentive to detail and dietary needs. If you're not too fussed about staying in the heart of the noisy city and likethe idea of escaping to the fields after a days exploring where good food awaits at any hour, then this is the place!
The only negative was sometimes the music piped in during meal times. but this seems obligatory in Indonesia- there is no escape!
Amazing staff that was incredibly hospitable. Astuti was an oasis in the busy city of Yogykarata and a great base for traveling to temples in the area.
Astuti was at least 30 minutes from central Yogykarta. This is not an issue if you don't want to go into Yogykarta( there is not much to see there) and just want to go to the temples outside the city.
I liked the way we were welcomed. With a nice drink, the room smelled wonderfull, thanx to essential oils....The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Every little problem was solved immediately. The swimmingpool was great, the food very tastefull. Every day we were able to go by transfer to the city or the marked. The owner speaks a bit Dutch, The place is a sort of museum with nice art. The laundry service was good. It was like being in paradise.
Exceptional intimate guesthouse with a lovely swimming pool. Rooms are very clean and gorgeous with a huge beautiful bathroom. Good breakfast. Staff are very kind and friendly. They even provided us with bread with jam/honey and coffee/tea at 5am despite breakfast is only served from 6:30am on.
First impression was great. The staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive. Although the location was out of the city, it was a perfect, quiet getaway.
The mattress on the bed was a little hard but I still managed a good night sleep.
Too far away from city. But on website, it was mentioned that it is just 7 to 8 km away from center place. The AC was pathetic, it was very hot and the AC was located somewhere in corner and it was not cooling. The bathrooms were not cleaned. In my view the place is good to have look and not for staying, especially with family.
Stayed 3D2N at Astuti Gallery Homestay, which actually is not a Home-stay, it is more like a resort. Staff are very friendly, and their service & hospitality for the guests is excellent. Ambiance of the hotel is quite unique, it is full of Budda's statues and Paintings done by the respective Owner. The experience will be very unique from other hotels as it follows theme of Buddha. The food is excellent, especially the chef who is a old lady prepares authentic Indonesian cuisine. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and recommend any people who prefer to stay in a calm and peaceful environment. Special thanks to the staff for making our stay more comfortable.
The location is little far from the main city but its sole purpose is to give a different kind of experience so I would not mind. However, few people may not like it. It is little bit expensive for the facilities provided, It could have been better especially WIFI and TV. Other than these minor things, overall our stay was very good.
The interior, the garden, the whole place looked great. Everything was perfect. Great value for money, good rooms, nice pool, good food.
A lovely place to relax and enjoy with delicious home made traditional dishes to enjoy in an cosy, half open cafe.
The hospitality, the friendliness of staff, the food, the atmosphere,... everything was exceptional.
- extremely friendly service - lovely people - very beautiful and peaceful hideaway - good food
The food serving for the breakfast is very much satisfied to choose the variety of the foods.
Lighting would be more lighter to read the book in the room.
This hotel is far from the city, and it's difficult to find it. The swimming pool is very dirty, and the room is not safe, can't be locked.
The warm hospitality of the owner and staffs, as well as the delicious, thoughtful food quality some grown in the vicinity of the hotel itself. The ambience was fantastic, quiet and relaxing.
The room need more lighting as sometimes there'd be a need to have it. There's also problem with the hot water.
We loved our stay at Astuti, the rooms were beautiful, great garden, wonderful swimming pool, super comfy bed and the best scrambled eggs that I have ever tried
The food was great, the rooms where clean, everyone that worked there was so kind. I would recommend this it everyone !
Owner, manager and staff were very helpful and delightful. The place is serine and relaxing.
It locates a bit far from city center. If you plan to visit city center very often, it may not be convenience. If you plan to visit other places outside city, it will be alright.
Excellent service. Binthan our host was the best! He is all in one: administrator, driver, waiter, all for a young person!! The different requests were all fulfill like: small breakfast at 3:30 am to see the sunrise. Always with smile. The place is very nicely decorated with art peaces and paints from the gallery in the rooms. Lovely stay I really recommend this place!!
It is 30 min from the airport. But also this makes this place peaceful in hectic Yogya.
Bintha and his staff are doing everything to make you feel like a king. Directly after my confirmation at booking I received an personal email from Bintha with all the things he could arrange for us and that he would pick us up from the airport and so he did. By arriving at the Homestay we were flabbergasted about the looks and friendliness of the Homestay and his staff. We received a welcome drink, which was a nice cup of special herbal tea. Homestay is by the way not the good word to describe this small luxury resort. The rooms are spacious, clean and so beautiful which makes this stay even more unique. Especially our bathroom (room Scotland). First we intend to stay only 2 days, but we made that 4 because we want to enjoy the peacefullnes . The General Manager Bintha arranged everything for us, so we did not had to worry about anything. Also the cook made us delicious meals every day.Even when we had to leave early in the morning, She would woke up to make a breakfast for us. She is such a sweet girl. Bintha has also good contacts to arrange a driver for you, who can bring you to Borobudur and Prambanan. To all the staff a big thanks for your great service! You have made our stay in Yogja and one day we definitely come back!!!
We really loved and enjoyed our 3-day stay in the Astuti Homestay. We regretted to leave after 3 days... Great welcome with a drink, we felt immediately welcome and had a feeling of coming home. The diner that Wulan ( hostess) made was fingerlicking good! The breakfast was really tasty and more than enough! The room was beautiful, spacious, nice bathroom...Nice swimmingpool, enjoyed it! The atmosphere was really relaxing, it was like our family. Wulan and Binta ( daughter) are really friendly and Always willing to help! ( trip to Borobudur, Prambanan...)We would love to go back there! We miss it already.
We can't say a single bad word of the homestay.
Friendliness and homely
Service by the manager is great!
Food is bad & location is far!
Food is fantastic!! Staff is very nice
Location a bit far away
