This is a good place to stay in Banda Aceh - very close to the park and within walking distance to the Grand Mosque and other central attractions, and not too far from the Big Boat (we walked there too). The owner Fikri is fluent in English (he studied in Australia for a year) and very friendly and helpful. He is a tour guide and you can rent a car from him. The facilities are pretty basic but ideal for backpackers. With WiFi cafes and lots of shops and stalls nearby, it is a good base before you move on to other parts of Aceh.
Quite in the city center
The next morning: ants all over the place (even in our backpacks)
The bed was not the worst ever
Very dirty Crazy expensive for what you get
Cheap. Very friendly owner. Ask for room with windows and ac.
Not very clean, but still.. It's cheap.
The room seems furniture-less except for the beds and a fan(I booked for fan room) but the bed was comfy. Perhaps I was too tired due to the 17hours bus journey from Medan. The owner is really friendly and helpful.
The facilities are basic but it's good value - the lovely owner is well travelled and speaks great English. He was extremely kind to me and very keen to show off his city and I would not have had as good a time had I not stayed here thanks to him. I have heard reports of Western travellers having problems being turned away at other hotels which are not keen to have business from foreign people, however, here it is the complete opposite and Fikri was very pleased to have me staying.
Nothing - it's basic but good value for one night.
The owner who is kind enough to take me on a ride to "ground zero".
The bathroom does not have hot shower and is in need of a major renovation. The bathroom facility looks dilapidated. Location is hard to find. It is near the Radio Republic Indonesia (rri) building next to the river.
Location Friendly staff (even if we paid more by using booking.com ...)
Not really clean Mosquitos in the room Very noisy Bandah Aceh is not really a touristic place. Interesting if you want learn more about the tsunami.
wonderfully friendly owner sharing local stories and helping with various travel-related matters. The city itself is humble but really amazing with friendly, hospitable people. Will visit again if I can.
The last room facing the street can be quite noisy.
