The rooms were lovely, clean, thoughtful touches such as an umbrella. Swimming pool and play equipment for kids. Large restaurant. Generous breakfast spread.
Medan as a city doesn't have a lot to offer. Not the hotels fault though!
Quiet, homely place. Friendly staff and owner. Swimming pool.
Location - very isolated, along dusty and unsafe road.
excellent staff, very friendly and good customer service. catered to our needs for breakfast as we had to leave early in the day.
Very nice, quite location. Very friendly staff, excellent service.
small tv, no satelite program
The staff were all so friendly and efficient. nothing was too much trouble
it would have been nice to have a fridge in the room
Hotel is located out of the city in very pleasent environment. If you are not going outside - this is a paradize.
I liked that the hotel is, indeed like an oasis in the middle of the desert. Beautiful place & personal very nice and helpful. They expected us with a huge plate of fruits for welcome and even if we stayed 1 day we felt so peaceful like in 3 days. The pool is very nice with a great view to the river& the forest.
Unfortunatley the hotel is very far from Medan and they charged us about 160000 Rp (14 $) for the ride from the airport. And for any place that you want to visit in Medan the taxi will charge you for the trip minimum 20 $ wich is pretty much for Indonesia.
Friendly calm place outside of medan
In the end quite far from medan and therefor little isolated
The hotel is an oasis south of downtown Medan. It is convenient to go into the city, such as for the offered historical tours, yet it's relaxing and away from the hustle of the city. The hotel offers various tours to guests, to mountains, orangutans, etc.
While the cost of hotel and meals was reasonable, the cost of field trips was a little on the high side.
After 24 hours of travelling we arrived at the hotel, we received à warm welcome from the staff. Very service minded. Tip: they have a very good and well priced travel agency. You can book your Sumatra trip from here. We arranged à great safe driver at the agency that drove us through Sumatra for 6 days.
beautiful garden, very friendly and helpful staff
poor breakfast in the morning and in the evening the hordes of blood lusting mosquitoes made it impossible to enjoy dinner in an open restaurant (and there is no other place to dine); it is somewhat isolated location -- no other restaurants around, even hard to call a taxi to come pick you up (but there are lost of shops around)
A very nice place to stay: a haven of peace in the middle of busy Medan. Staying there feels like you are far, far away from the city. The rooms are good and clean. Airconditioning works well. Supplimentaries such as coffee, tea and bottles of water (definitively no tap water!!) are present. The swimming pool is nice and offers a panoramic view over de garden below. Though some extra sun beds would have been welcome. The restaurant is situated on a higher part of the compound and has an open structure, allowing a cooling wind coming through. The menu is fine, including Dutch specialities as 'poffertjes', 'bitter ballen' and apple pie (very good). Service is of more than average quality, most people speak English well and are very helpful. This is an excellent place to stay to get used to the climate (for new comers) or to relax from a trip to the jungle. If you are interested in the Dutch history of Medan (tabacco and rubber plantations) or Dutch architecture contact the owner. He has some short trips available showing you the highlights of the city.
Extra sun beds are recommended.
Good location, close to Medan but green, no noice, ..., clean and friendly.
