Amazing staff - all very kind, polite, smiling and extremely efficient. I loved the spa and massages. The hotel is a real gem - everything is geared towards full relaxation and disconnecting from any stress and crowds. Gardens and ponds are fantastic. It is 10 min drive from Ubud and really quiet and calm. I had booked a garden villa but they were overbooked and got upgraded to a pool villa - so I enjoyed a private swim in what is a very adequately sized private pool! All my needs were happily catered for by the attentive yet very discreet staff. Has access to a Club lounge with internet/PCs available. Wifi in villa also good. Did not wish to leave! Restaurant menu is too western for my liking - I am European and certainly did not look for Italian or French food when in Asia - would have liked to have more options of local/Asian cuisine on the menu and certainly more vegetarian options.

We enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of the resort. The standard of the accommodation was excellent and reflected the style of a balinese house. We loved the two bedroom villa. It was spacious and very comfortable. The adjoining private pool was lovely to view from our room and was so nice to dip into. The gardens were beautifully maintained. We found the staff to be very gracious and warm. Nothing was too much trouble and we valued their attention to detail in all areas. We look forward to returning next year and staying in your resort. We appreciated the upgrade that we were given.

The rooms are large and luxurious, the baths large, with outdoor showers, the grounds are spectacular, the food was delicious and the service was friendly and quick. We loved our stay and hope to return again. More shuttles to and from town, additional restaurant or food choices, colder a/c in rooms

The gardens are very nice as the swimming pool with loungers inside the water. Atmosphere it looks like a hindu temple and it was a good experience. We had to fight to get a Queen size bed, since they wanted us to stay in a twin room (we are a couple with a baby). Restaurants inside are very poor value for money and the amount of food they give you if for someone on hard diet. Restaurants outside need to go by taxi 15 minutes. On the way out wanted to get a taxi and they said could not call the taxi only hotel car which was 3 times the regular price. Not easy for small babies since the place is full of stairs and you need to climb that all the time.

The enviroment, the location and the view of the hotel are fantastic. The service was great, the restaurant has a comprehensive menu and the service was great. Unfortunately there took building activities place from 09.00 AM to 5 PM This was disturbing the natural silence of the place. This building activity will be fished one day, but during the time we stayed at the resort it was not pleasant.

The ambient was great, surrounded by greeneries, the staffs were friendly & helpful. The food was great too. The room was spacious & wif privacy. Service was excellent. The mineral water given to us should be in plastic bottle so that we can bring along with us. Would be great if there are more facilities like steam bath, gym or table tennis.

Experiencing the luxurious way of life in Kamandalu was worth every cent! The Staff made us feel truely special, the welcoming gesture with cold towels and leis was a perfect start to our unforgettable holidays. Everything was really clean and well looked after, and although a big resort, you could find perfect tranquility in your own villa and garden. The resort has a wonderful pool for adults with a poolbar and another pool for small children. The buffet breakfast (inclusive) had lots of choises and you could easily spend an hour eating. The center of Ubud is too far to walk, but shuttle-service works well and taxi is cheap. I recommend to take the walk to the ricefeelds starting from Lotus-Café (Ubud main road) It's hard to find anything to complain. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was 3 times more expensive as what you could find from Ubud town. But no problem going out to eat! Better not tell where you're staying when you are shopping as you might get a 'special price' (and I don't mean a discount)

Kamandalu was a beautiful, peaceful and tranquil resort set in the mountains of beautiful Bali. We spent 3 nights here but wished we had booked 5. It is close enough to the town of Ubud to do shopping, spas and other activities - a $5 cab fair or use the free shuttle. The resort itself was immaculate and the staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. The food and beverages were a five star standard as were the pool and pool side area. The setting for the resort is spectacular - as soon as we arrived we were relaxed. There are only two minor things I did not like about Kamandalu. As there are very few things to do at Kamandalu you needed to travel outside the resort for activities and the shuttle service was not regular enough (although we only needed to wait 10 mins for a cab and they were very cheap)and the spa was overpriced.

The hotel was very beautiful, and the rice terrace within the property was spectacular. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In particular, our driver Agus was very attentive. He gave us lots of helpful information about the area and insight into the culture which really added to the enjoyment of our experience. His English was very good, so we were able to go to him with any questions that we had. We would like to send along a thank you to him for making our experience more enjoyable.

This place is exquisite. The architecture is true balinese and the attention to detail outstanding. The service impeccable. The food very good. The atmosphere and the views excellent. We will come back. But we love nature and buildings with lots of character and authenticity, so for people that love very modern designs or the absolutely latest technology around them ....perhaps this is not the place. The tv is small and the reception is not so good. We stay at the "chalet" but we know they have some more luxurious rooms with plasma TVs (good if you go on the rainy season) Ohh...and the water temperature at the swimming pools is 30 degrees..just perfect!! It is quite away from the village (Ubud) and you need to take a taxi (only 5 au$ so it is not bad) but I wish they would provide with a free shuttle service to Ubud that is much more frequent than the one they have now.

Beautifully serene. The staff and service is impeccable. Highly recommend. The only problem we had all weekend was our dinner at the insure restaurant was over cooked. The food was great besides the main entree being well done.

The staff were attentive and not intrusive. The hotel and its facilities were well maintained. The hotel is private and cannot be easily spotted from the main road and it makes it somewhat special and exclusive, a real retreat from the hustle outside. A place to calm your senses and relax.

I thought the staff were gracious and the setting and grounds were beautiful. The hotel itself is spectacular. The rooms were a little uninspiring, but comfortable and had all amenities like mini bar, safe, tv and good bathroom. The hotel is a little ways outside of Ubud and although the hotel offers a shuttle service, this runs infrequently and their own taxi service is far more expensive than the average local taxi charge. Most of the other hotels, (including much less expensive ones) had much better shuttle services.

“Truly superb service, with exceptionally friendly, helpful staff. Very nice extras included in price: great breakfasts with wide choice of Western or Indonesian menu; afternoon coffee/tea with local pastries/snacks also offered. Ideal location for anyone who wants to be both close to Ubud attractions, music, restaurants, shops, yet also wants a peaceful, quiet resort atmosphere. It offers an island of tranquility right in the center of this bustling town. A great overall experience.” Sean, Mclean, Va |
