Everything, U might need to take a long way to get there, but thats even make u feel more excited , The location was offcourse not convinient, but perfect to spend holidays away from busy daily life,
Just one thing, all the water was seawater,
Nothing about this hotel!
We stayed in the hotel in December. This hotel has very poor customer service and is trying to get as much money from the customer as they could. The location of the hotel is very bad, it is far from the beach and the nice beach is half an hour walking or with kids you need the horse carriage which was expensive. Restaurants also are not close too. When we arrived we asked if we can pay with dollar and they confirmed that it is ok. But during check out they charged us 10% more than any money exchange.
Great stuff, amazing dinners, nice location. Very nice place. Recomended.
Lovely bungalow in a nice complex with swimming pool. Nice breakfast, friendly staff.
Very good internet but had issues with amount of data. Door to bathroom instead of blind would be preferred.
Nice bungallows near to Gili Meno lake. Nice staff nice owners. Good breakfast. Beautiful swimingpool and garden. Delicious juices. The nice beach is a littlebit far away from thre hotel by foot about 15 min walk. You can use bicycles to this.
Lovely French owners. Very accommodating and helpful with organising transport, snorkel hire etc. Friendly staff and clean rooms. We stayed in the plunge pool room and it was fantastic.
The island experiences black outs at times. The staff are very helpful during these times but there is no back up generator so you will have to wait for the power to come on.
Friendly and helpful owners and staff, beautiful grounds, rooms and setting, fantastic breakfast, perfect location close to the beach to swim and also watch beautiful sunsets. We stayed in the private pool room and it was absolutely lovely. This place is a labour of love for the owners and it shows! We would stay here again if we ever get to come back to Gili Meno.
The bed was a little bit hard for us, but that's just a personal preference that we like a soft bed.
Friendly & suppportive French management Nice pool and place in general
locaiton - but was expected, no big issue - 5 minutes walk to nearest beach and about 10 minutes to the harbour, which is nicer for swimming/snorkeling
Private pool (Borneo room) Food was delicious (breakfast included freshly baked bread, eggs, choice of fresh juice) Very friendly and helpul staff - run by a lovely French family
The location is quite remote so it was dark walking back at night, but the accom provides a torch and there are always staff about
Nice bungalow, fridge in room, lovely pool. Close to good snorkeling spot (turtle!).
The bathroom is part of the bedroom, with no doors. Thin white curtains let in a lot of light. These were minor issues compared to the mosquitoes, however. The proximity to the lake (I guess) meant that I was covered in bites, despite using spray, plug-ins, coils, everything. Moved to Gili Air after two days and had no more problems with mosquitoes. Advised the owner to add mosquito nets, especially at this time of year (beginning of rainy season).
A complete rip off. Very poor communication. We were ripped when the exchange after trusting them to accept USD. AC didn't work. Staff attitude poor. At one point they said that we needed to tough up because the AC is not working. It's their responsibility to ha AC. We booked bases on their advertisement of available AC. Overall, bad taste left after this experience
Location. Inside Meno within brownland.
This was a real favourite from our Indonesian tour. It has a unique and special charm, carefully cultivated by its owners. The situation, the accommodation, the site, the pool are all perfect in their own way, as are the staff and the service. Definitely somewhere to revisit.
We (a swedish family with 4 children) stayed for seven nights and were very pleased with our stay. The resort is new and run by a friendly french family. The staff was also very nice och serviceminded. The resort is small, only five bungalows, and has a very nice swimming pool. The restaurant served great food. Home-made bread, jams and ice cream among other things.
Because of indonesian bureaucracy they haven´t yet got their credit card terminal so you will have to pay cash. But Gili Meno recently have got an ATM in the village so it is really no big problem.
We payed so much for one night and the young pupils, who work there, get so less money for the hard and very good work. It is absolutly unfair. These owners think that they are very smart: go to Indonesia where life is cheap and take european prices. This resort is in the middle of nowhere between desert and stinky lake. I wonder how they could get these rating. I am sorry, but this was our most expensive stay while 3 weeks in Bali and Lombok and it was the most unauthentic. We didn't feel well. To make money on a small piece of freedom, which is Gili Meno indeed, is really bad. In front of the beach we could get nice indonesian bungalows for $30, instead of $110.
Good staff very welcome and nice people .great wi fi free in every room .very clean rooms ,hot water.good service .great hotel
No tv ,no kettle,no safe box,far from beach.
The resort is very nice, pool is amazing, staff is very friendly. It's close to the beach which has a good snorkeling area, and Diana cafe where we always ate.
Meno as an island has no water of it's own, so the water with which you wash is salty and not potable. We had a small inconvenience when we tried to brush our teeth. Buy bottled water for brushing your teeth. No water means little vegetation on the island so don't expect the vegetation you see for example in Bali.
Breakfast - really great homemade bread, jam and fruitsalad. On top of that is the freshly made eggs, pancakes and bacon superb. The staff is really great in assisting with help. We got quickly got help to fix our Wifi and were helped in arranging airport transfer.
The prices on food and beverages in the bar/restaurant is way to high compared to other options on the island.
Wonderful owners Phillippe and Agnes Wonderful staff! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kebun Kupu Kupu - they couldn't have done more for us if we had asked - the most accommodating staff possible. Accommodation was incredible and the location was perfect for everything - food, snorkelling etc! Any problems getting to and from Gili Meno - you should not worry, you can ask local boats to private charter and they will do it at a reasonable price (back to Gili T or to Gili Air) - 150,000 IDR! :-)
Beautifully set back by the lake (but just a few minutes wander to the sea) kupu kupu offers the warmest greeting and is a tranquil hidden retreat within a stunning garden. Lovely bungalows set around swimming pool area, feels very homely and the staff couldn't do more to attend needs.
Refers to free bike hire but there are only 2 between all guests - however best to walk on meno anyway as neither takes long!!
Comparing to other hotels and resorts on Gili Meno this is one of the best hotels to stay in. It is spacious, surrounded by palm trees. The pool is very nice. Liwia - the receptionist is a great person, very helpful and knows the island very well.
The lights in the rooms are too weak - almost impossible to read. The bathroom has no doors and is separated from the room with a wall which gives no privacy at all. The electricity is to weak for the air conditioning to work properly.
The Borneo room was so great, with private pool. Very clean room. The owner and staff are very nice and helpful. The food is very very good, maybe the best food on the island i recommend 100% this place
Owner Extremely unfriendly, poor breakfast, and poor option for dinner. No light on room patio for read book in evening.
The staff were all lovely and there was a very welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast supplied was also great and the pool was fantastic.
The only thing that slightly let Kebun Kupu Kupu down is it's location and the fact that there are no lights on the streets leading there. Also the lack of signage to the villa means it is easy to take a wrong turn.
The resort looks appealing and has a good swimming pool (both the private and public pool). The welcome was nice with a good drink and a nicely decorated bed. The milkshakes at the bar are very tasty.
Our private appartement had its own pool surrounded by a fence and had its own entry, but one of the windows from the main house was overlooking the pool, making it not so private as suggested. Also, the bathroom was completely outside and wasn't separated from our pool (some more privacy would be nice). Since the apparement is actually part of the main house, you hear a lot from the people there (it almost felt like they were showering in our room). The bed was the worst we had in Indonesia. Most of the staff didn't speak English (the owners did). The breakfast was very simple, we expected more from a resort owned by French and for this price.
