If you want to be out of the noise of the big town and you like to be surrounded by the nature. Ho for it its the place you need
Breakfast is to small.
Everything at Ketut's place is great, the staff are friendly, the gardens are beautiful, rooms were clean! We loved our stay and would definitely go back!
Staff went above and beyond to book our excursions and trips around Ubud. They answered all of our questions and gave some great suggestions. We really enjoyed our time in ubud and the free breakfast was a great start to the day.
Ketut's was just a bit further from the Monkey Forest Rd and the markets than we realized. It wasn't a bad walk, just very dark at night.
Beautiful lush greenery in an authentic Balinese family home. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and a substantial breakfast provided. Quiet location, but walkable from the city center.
If you're not a fan of bugs then maybe this isn't the right place to stay. Because the homestay is located amongst many trees, there are bugs around and early morning roosters to wake you up. However, we didn't mind this and really did enjoy our stay there.
Location, traditional balinese family, nice outdoor settings and pool. Simple room environment.
Small details which could make a big difference. Cleaningless of room and comune areas, carpets, dirty mosquito net and bed covers seems not cleaned. Poor breakfast in terms of choice and quality/quantity. Staff could be slightly more warm/smiling.
The traditional style of the home stay and the friendliness of Ketut and his family
Courteous staff. Lovely pool. Cool verandah
Ketut's Place is a gorgeous little hideaway just off the beaten path of Ubud. The family/staff running it are knowledgeable and exceedingly helpful. Everything about the stay here put you into the Balinese flow.
very helpful staff, very family feeling hotel. you feel like stay home.
swimming pool needs more cleaning.
Staff really helpful. Great spa facilities and lovely massages. Good location in the middle of town. Would definitely recommend.
We got the deluxe room and it was breathtakingly beautiful and so peaceful! Highly recommend Ketut's Place.
Everything was perfect!
My room was on the top floor and had great views. I loved the traditional layout and being in an authentic environment. Does not have all the mod-cons, but great value for money.
Personal very friendly and helpful; very good own kitchen, lovely small appartments with own terasse in a lusg darden between the family temples; near center of Ubud but very quite, nice pool
They have nice landscape and surrounding is quiet as the main attraction is located 10-15 minutes walk.
Not recommended for Muslim,as they let their dogs (three big dogs) lingering around (untied/uncaged). They would bark and follow to your room.
The hotels atmosphere is really great. The rooms are Balinese style houses and the garden is like a botanical garden. I had a room at the top floor and enjoyed every day of the sunrise and sunset. And all the birds and butterflies. The pool is nice. And you can have your dinner at your balcony. The staff is very friendly.
The rooms down seemed to be too humid during the wet season as I hear from people who stay there. The dinner was really good, only a bit limited in choices if you are vegetarian. But maybe they are going to add up some more vegetarian dishes!
Ketut and his family have really put their soul into this property and we're amazing is assisting us with anything we may have inquired about. Don't leave without trying their traditional Balinese dinner!
Gorgeous grounds with large rooms overlooking a steep cliff with a river at the bottom of it. Very friendly and helpful staff/family.
Description says "Monkey Forest is within 700 meters" - this should read "Monkey Forest ROAD" as the actual Monkey Forest is 2.4km away and a much longer walk than anticipated. Room cleaning didn't happen until quite late in the day.
Old worldly traditional beautiful surroundings Staff very friendly and available
Room a little small Light for reading is dim
The location is great and it's a really interesting place to stay that introduces you straight to Unud's culture
It's really hard to think of anything.
My advice would be to completely avoid Ketuts Place at all costs! The set up is rather strange with it being the family home as well as a guesthouse. From the moment you enter you are made to feel like an intruder and there is a feeling of annoyance that you are interrupting their evening to check in. The check in process was so unfriendly and really rushed. No welcome drink was offered or even any information about breakfast, wifi or anything else. Nobody offered to help with my bags and it was maybe one of the worst check ins I've ever experienced. We were given a room situated quite a few floors down some steep slippery exterior steps that actually felt quite dangerous as they were covered in moss! When I was shown to my room the door was wide open and filled with Mosquitos and to my horror there was a huge dog lying asleep in the corner of the room. I really felt this was completely unacceptable and when I complained i was made to feel really unreasonable! The room was also very grubby with the kind of bathroom that you wouldn't want to step in without flip flops and the bed was beyond uncomfortable! They say the provide water but the water provided was hardly enough to brush your teeth with! The bottles were tiny. Also we wanted a twin room and we got the very uncomfortable double bed and then a child's single! Breakfast was slightly confusing as it wasn't explained to me at check it! When we finally got it, it was so disgusting!! How they could made great fruit in Bali taste bad is quite an achievement. The fruit was either rotten or not ripe. It was at that moment we decide to cut our 6 night stay down to just that one and get away as fast as possible! Ketut himself was a really unpleasant man and I think he really added to the bad vibe of the place. He massively lacked any kind of customer service skills and there was something untrustworthy about him. We were honestly so glad to escape and really couldn't get away fast enough.
Fantastic place, good location, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful food and just a wonderful over all local experience! A must go to place.
Wifi signal is a little bad but not important when in such a great place :D
The natural beauty of the garden and the temple inside
the rooms are extremly old and it seems they have never been updated
The place is located well within Ubud to walk to anywhere in the centre of town. I walked to the yoga barn and the monkey forest which took around 25 minutes through the town. The hotel pool area is also lovely to sit around and it is above the river which you can hear rushing below.
My room was next to a staff bathroom which was noisy at times, but nothing I couldn't put up with.
The view of the river and the staff were excellent - our room had a fantastic veranda that we drank and ate on. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Only a short 5 minute walk to the main street. It was quiet. The food was good. This accommodation provides an authentic Indonesian experience.
The air conditioner I think could be larger for the room.
I LOVED Ketut's place. It seemed like a wonderful escape whilst still being in the heart of Ubud; the family running the place could not have been more wonderful, and it was just a beautiful place. I felt like I was staying in a temple due to the great architecture. I really recommend it! Thank you! Silvie
