But for travellers who are on a tight budget, I'd probably advise you to bring your own food, maybe breads or some tuna or noodles, the food up here are quite pricey (for me). Usually for lunch/dinner, I'd head down west and walk for a couple of miles to a local restaurant (nasi ikan lalapan), I can't have enough of it and its cheap (menus ranging between 8-15000 idr). The other downside is the wifi, no wifi, you have to go to the reastaurant to get wifi access.
I you're planning to hike mount agung/mount batur, you would probably want to spend here a day or two or maybe more. The location is excellent, only a thirty minute drive to mount agung and batur. Cleanliness is top notch. They cleaned the toilet and rooms everyday. You have two choices for breakfast, both indonesian and western choice of food. I've had an enjoyable weekend here, they have a mini libraby with great books to read and also you can watch cds. Tea/coffee are free. Hot waters are also available. Views at lakeview are spectacular. The staffs are very friendly. And foremost I enjoyed the company and hostility of the dogs there, I was staying here for a week and they kept me company, going on for short walks, watching cds, reading books, etc, such cuties. They even kept me guard on me while I slept alone.
