We chose to stay here as we have been to the gilis before, it was a lovely change from the fast party side of the island. The staff were friendly, however we did have a very small issue when we paid our final bill and then were told the next day that it had not been invoiced correctly and we were asked to pay more. I would recommend that the property add Fans to the rooms so that when you don't want AC on, there is another form of air flow. Would definitely stay there again.
No fans in the rooms
Beautiful setting in a coconut plantation. So quiet and peaceful and perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all. The tents are so luxurious and decor is lovely. Short walk from less busy restaurants and less busy beach.
Nothing! It is a 10 min horse cart ride away from main nightlife and main shops/restaurants on the east of the island but you can easily walk to the nearby ones on the west of the island, perfect for sunset!
The concept is nice and the staff is great. ORIGINAL. Away from noisy Gili T.
Missing a pool, bikes were a bit old, massage was not professional.
La Cocoteraie is beautifully appointed and a relaxing, quiet alternative away from the main strip.
I'm more than happy to pay for luxury and seclusion, but given the $100/night price tag I think more could be included within the price (e.g. not charging extra for use of bikes, specialty coffee etc.) I was also pretty disappointed to find that there is no hot water in the tents (I know its an eco-lodge but why not solar powered hot water??)
Location (despite not on the beach, but beaches in Trawangan are not the best...) and organisation are very good, the owner and the personnel friendly. Great attention to details! That's the right place to relax!
The smell of the burned rubbish... Trawangan is dirty and chaotic!
We enjoyed being away from all the hustle and bustle of the harbor side of he island. La Cocoteraie had plent of bikes for rent and we were able to cruise all over the island. The staff and owner were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
We didn't like renting bikes each day. We would rather have the bikes be part of the accommodations.
A different kind of hotel to spend the holidays. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the food is good and prepared fresh. The tents, restaurant and garden are equipped with tasteful furniture and love to details.
Friendly staff Great atmosfere Tasty food Realy comfy glamping experience
That we had to eventualy leave
Friendly staff. Good food. Perfect. Best place ever.
1) The way the room is design, build up, and maintain. 2) The staffs are providing a 5 stars service. It is excellent.
The "glamping" huts are spacious and fantastic. They were excellently clean and the staff were excellent. Allowed us to borrow snorkel gear and provided a lovely breakfast. We enjoyed the location on the quieter side of the island.
The other side of the island is excellent for sunsets and snorkelling but is not a very good swimming beach, and was easy to get a little lost, especially at night.
Far from the busy area on the east coast, but in 5 min. by bike you are there, with its wonderful beach, sea and fishes. Near the west coast, with its romantic and unforgettable sunsets.
The staff, the food, the decor
The staff was so friendly, always eager to help. The grounds were always clean and there were no problems with bugs or pests. The food is great and they have a good variety to offer. the overall ambiance was pleasant and peaceful.
There was construction going on-which the staff mentioned before booking however it was more than what I expected and blocks the entrance to the main road which make cycling a little tricky. Close to the beach but you definitely cannot hear the ocean, it is about a 2min bike ride away. Downtown is pretty far and the road is extremely dark so note when booking that you definitely need a flashlight, I felt that the head lamp provided was not bright enough considering the conditions of the road.
The tents are really nice and its a different experience. The surroundings are quite and peaceful.
The location is really bad far away from everything. The price is too high for what you get, There are many hotels even better and cheaper. No pool. No privacy in the bathroom. Only cold water in the shower.
Great idea, friendly atmosphere and a really good and comfy tents.
Its a bit far from everything, but that's the idea of the place.
its a nice place to relaxation, amazing and cool
this place is too far from public transport,.
Amazing place! A back to basic place where you just feel free of hassle! Peace, beauty, comfort... Easy to go around the island with our 2 children who were exploring the island by themselves with no fear of other vehicles. Breakfast was yummy with choices for the whole family. Best crepes on the island and ... the must try "Fondant au chocolat" is an absolute delicacy made to perfection by the chef!! Staff were really helpful, warm & friendly.
Love the tents - spacious, well air conditioned, lovely bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious and the staff went out of their way to help us with recommendations.
Dinner wasn't great, took ages and the fish was overcooked. The bikes are great but need to have slightly fatter tires and better seats for the local conditions.
Eco. Quiet. Fresh water supply. Staff are friendly. Great interior design.
Internet access is sort of limited. Coffee is terrible. Bikes aren't free to use. Breakfast could be better.
Great hotel, with an amazingly friendly staff. They helped set up a guide and transport for the next phase of our journey. Quite comfortable tents and perfect location to enjoy some peace and quite yet be close enough to enjoy the bars and restaurants of Gili T.
That is was different to most other places and certainly a different experience to a hotel or guest house. You are living in tents but with aircon, so you feel you are closer to nature and it feels more relaxed.
Nothing. It was what I expected but better
Such a shame because we had a pretty nice stay back to nature up until just after I left and realised I had left my phone on the bed. Breakfast is simple but sufficient, good selection of teas etc. The rooms are lovely, proper glamping! If quirky is what you're looking for then this is good. You even get aircon...remember this is glamping so do not expect a change of towels or your room cleaned.
Needless to say no staff have 'seen' my phone...there was only one other guest at the lodge that day, who had gone out when we left. I had to really hassle to get an answer, although the staff emailing said the delayed response, the next day, was because they wanted to check with all staff which is thorough I guess but not much help when you are desperate for them to locate your phone in your room to pass on to a friend on the island nearby. If you decide to stay here, put anything and everything you want to keep I.e. Phone, tablets, money, cards, passport in the locker in reception; this does mean you can't leave any electrics charging in your room if out. There are no safes in the room so you will have to go back and forth. The actual working, local staff are friendly and polite, the managers are too busy in the main building on Skype to acknowledge you and you will have to say hello first. In my opinion, they could be more welcoming or show even a bit of interest in their guests, this is completely different to our other stays around Bali, where managers have been amazing. Here, in fact, they are pretty much surplus, although they are very much there in presence. The actual beach nearby you cannot use, something to do with tides, although it only takes 10-15 minutes to cycle to main beach on east side on the hired bikes. I had recommended the lodges to a friend via facebook but sadly have taken that back after my phone problem. Could be a freak incident but in my opinion, an honest and secure surrounding is so important to me and a phone going 'missing' is a real pain...when I go back to Gili I will stay south east or the very north for location.
Beautiful eco tents, staff were undertrained though, but the meals were very nice.
The construction next door all day, starts at 7 and stops at 7-8 at night. Week Wifi only available in dining area.
Everything was excellent! La cocoterie made our stay on giliT a better experience. Clamping!
A bit slow internet but actually you don't need internet when on giliT.
