Excellent room over-looking gardens

Initially tried to put us in a standard room rather than a terrace room that we had booked through Booking.com

Almost everything is okay in this beautiful hotel!

Indonesia is for people who like to drink a glass of wine a difficult country! In a hotel like this you expect it's more easy, however that's not true!

A modernised grand hotel from colonial days. All that you could wish for.

Nothing. Being only one story high, some rooms were a distance from the lobby but good exercise.

Internet is extremely slow and unreliable.

Unusually English-style power plugs in Indonesia which typically uses European-style. Prepare for universal adapter or tweak the ground port a little bit.

The hotel is located in excellent location and closed to many tourists destination. It is an old hotel, colonial style but very well maintained. The gardens are amazing, we took hundreds of pictures. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our children loves the hotel...

The breakfast should be improved to reflects the 5 stars hotel standard.

No elevator, if you bring heavy lugage it's better stay in ground floor (also more better view). Mosquitos in the rooms

The Hotel is in a beautiful old colonial Art Deco building, steeped in history, in the middle of Surabaya. It's located on an extremely busy road but once inside the hotel this is hardly noticeable. There is a pretty good Chinese restaurant upstairs, the food in the coffeeshop wasn't always that fresh. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The swimming pool is lovely but when we were visiting wasn't very clean, water was cloudy and when we complained about it nothing seemed to change. During Ramadan they had a show with dinner in the rear inner garden of the hotel , this went on every single evening all through Ramadan. The first night we had a room in this area but had to move the next day because of this event, it was extremely loud and with all the chairs etc set up and commotion going on getting the buffet started , it just wasn't a good option staying in this area. The other garden rooms toward the front of the hotel were fine though.

The hotel is a beautiful building with stunning gardens. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. It was a pleasure to stay there. We ate at Sarkies restaurant one night, the food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Fantastic style ( building as well as staff). Enthousiastic kitchen staff, swimming pool and fitness centre staff ok.

Minor point: language skills of chauffeur for tour.

the wonderful experience of a heritage antiquity of the architecture and interior, along with beautiful landscaped garden and I got a free upgrade to the royal suite.

Excellent hotel. Staff are very very gentle and helpful. Wonderful beautiful green closed private yard, where I feel very safe and comfortable. Nice live music in the lobby each evening. Comfortable free business center and free wi-fi everywhere. Some words about hotel restaurants: don`t try to find something in the city! This restaurants are most delicious i`ve ever tried in Indonesia! And first place in the world, where I saw the dessert cheaper of coffee :)

Hotel is old. Some rooms need to renew. Shower in my room was old and rusty.

Great place, we stayed in the Arjuna suit with direct access to the pool. Great room, one thing was the toilet paper hanger who fell on the floor when touched it, but never mind.... The restaurant decor in the Indigo resto in the lobby does not fit in the Majapahit style at all. We booked a taxi for the train station to go Surabaya to Cirebon and automatically the cab took us to Gubeng station instead of Pasar Turi, the reception should have asked or enquire to look at our train tickets...but again never mind. Good hotel with lots of history, great inside gardens...

6th stay at the Majapahit and it's still one of our favorite hotel in the world. Very nice spa, excellent breakfast, pleasant staff, in a unique atmosphere.
