staff very friendly and caring, gave us a printout of a map with all the prime snorkelling spots; then explained the best ones. Had snork hire there which was cheap and good quality. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Pretty good location, although not quite walking distance to main restaurants and bars. We had our own scooter, so no problem for us. Excellent value for money in a great little town.

not the most private rooms (but they have excellent curtains) so maybe being picky

We had an amazing stay at Manis, the rooms are lovely and very clean with a lovely outdoor bathroom underneath banana trees! The family could not have been more helpful. Kadek organised our day-trip activities to temples, water gardens and scooter rental all at very reasonable prices.

Amed is quite stretched out and you may need transport to restaurants if you don't like walking (a comment on Amed in general rather than the accommodation)

The room is clean and nice. The host is very friendly and try to offer all the bests to you.

Not so much privacy as there is a jobsite in house. A bit noise from the street.

We really enjoyed our stay at Manis Homestay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the outdoor bathroom is nice and clean and the staff (Manis and her family) are very nice and welcoming, they even invited us for a homecooked meal and to a wedding! We've been travelling for 4 weeks in Indonesia and this homestay was the best value for money we've had, we would definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed staying at Manis! The family is very nice and helpful and you feel like at home. They do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible - including organizing excursion, making delicious Balinese breakfast... The accomodations are very clean and modern with a fantastic openair shower. The beach is just around the corner and by scooter you can discover a lot more beaches that are perfect for snorkelling and diving!

My husband and I enjoyed staying at Manis Homestay. It was a great experience because the hotel is within the family compound and you get to see Balinese family life up close. Manis, Kadek and the family are some of the nicest people: warm, friendly and very helpful. We felt welcomed from the moment that we arrived and I thoroughly enjoyed the Balinese cakes that Manis and Kadek's wife made everyday because they were soooooo delicious! The room and bathroom was clean and I loved the outdoor shower with views of the banana tree above it. The rooms were cleaned daily. The wifi connection was great! Kadek and his family were also very helpful in informing us of sights to see and finding us a motorbike to rent. I also got a 1 hour massage from Kadek's wife and it was very relaxing. My husband became sick and bedridden for a couple of days during our stay. Kadek and his wife offered him some natural herbal remedy pills and plenty of fresh guava juice and tea. They really went above and beyond to make sure that he was ok. We really appreciated their help because he recovered quickly and they essentially saved our vacation! We really felt a part of the family and in the future we are definitely staying at Manis Homestay on our next trip to Amed.

The rooms come with a ceiling fan but I feel that each room should also have an additional floor fan because it can get pretty hot. Other than that I have no complaints!

I stayed for two weeks there, and it was like being at home. Breakfasts are very tasty, one can choose them. Besides, you get coffee, tea and balinese cakes whenever you want! Rooms are cleaned every day, wifi connection is perfect. Beach is very close, the sea is awesome, and so many nice and cheap warungs and restaurants around. The most amazing thing about this homestay is the family. Kadek, Manis's son, will arrange anything for you, snorkelling, trekking, trips around the island, give advice what's the best, he's very helpful, kind and friendly guy. I was invited to the ceremony and wedding, which was a great experience. My birthday there was unforgettable! I would definitely recommend this homestay to everyone.

The staff is really nice and helpful. Very traditional balinese family. Tea and coffee for free the whole day.

It is directly at the street. So loud! You find much more quiet rooms at the beach side for the same price. Also no privacy because the rooms are to the side where the family walked the whole day.

Manis family made our days in Amed a very special experience, they helped us to organise a trip to Gunung Batur, gave us advise on snorkelling locations and Kadek drove us to Ubud the last day (he's a very good driver btw and speaks so many languages). Kadeks wife welcomed us with ice tea and banana cake, and Manis, a very sweet lady, gave us a lovely souvenir when we left. They are all very concerned about the guest's well-being and will do everything to make it the best Homestay ever. You can also rent a motorbike at Manis', have your laundry done and rent snorkelling equipment. The shared patio is very inviting to have conversations with Manis family and the other guests and you'll have a nice breakfast served there. We had a great time in Amed at Manis, and would recommend everyone coming to stay at this special Homestay.

Due to the location next to the road its a little bit noise at night, but we had no trouble whatsoever sleeping! The bed is very large and comfortable! (+ the open-air shower is great! the best bathroom we had in Bali)

We stayed at Manis for two nights. The room was clean and I liked the openair shower. The family is super nice and extremly friendly. We felt home from the first minute. To welcome us we received ice tea and balinese banana cake which was very yummie! Somehow my boyfriend told them that it's my birthday the next day. And then, before breakfast, the whole family came and brought a birthdaycake with candles and they were all singing. And after Manis gave me a sarong from her shop as a birthday gift. This was a unforgetable birthday. We would have stayed longer but time was short and we had to leave. But we'll come back for sure.

The owners provided us with great breakfast and amazing stories about their culture. It was an unforgettable stay with Manis family! We got free tea and homemade cakes whenever we wanted. The rooms are modern, comportable and clean. Every day we got fresh flowers for decoration. We felt like a part of the Family.

One of those nicest families I met in Indonesia. This family is so nice for you. Whenever I came back from my activity they would greet me with their lovely smiles and brought me fruit or a nice local snack. Room cleaned everyday and I did not had to ask for it (I traveled through indonesia for almost two months and this is really rare to see). Good wifi connection and Kadek is a great man who can help you with your problems. I love this family and if I ever go back to Amed again I will definitely stay with them again!

Manis Homestay is run by a very friendly & hospitable family. My wife was invited by Manis to join her in a Hindu Ceremony. Good experience & we felt part of the family as soon as we got there. Breakfast was one of the best provided during our stay in Bali. Very good value.

Homestay is close to Amed main street so a lot of scooter traffic. But then you get use to it as this is their main transportation as there are no public transportation other than taxis.
