this is the place to be if you want to visit the Borobudur Temple. You can see the temple from the breakfast-table. Book the sunrise-tour so you can enjoy the temple before all the tourists from Yogjakarta are arriving. The hotel is within complex of the Borobudur, so you can visit the temple all day. Rooms are decent and clean. Dinner is nice. Wifi only working at reception, not in the room.

I like the environment. It is very peaceful and quiet. Rather far from the city or any nearby market.

I loved the location, you can't get any closer to the temple! The water pressure was none existent which made showering near impossible unless you crouched under the tap - not so easy! Our room was too close to reception which made it incredibly noisy especially with 4.30am sunrise tours congregating outside our door.

I like the hotel nearby to temple with good view of it.(borobudur) There is no complimentary entrance to Borobudur during sunrise and sunset. Need to pay RP230,000.00 per person. only 6 am to 5pm free entry.

This is the only hotel within the Borobudur site which meant that we could go into the temple monument officially from 6 am with our daily multiple re entry ticket included in room rate great! Or leave even earlier with a 4.30 am paid group to see the sun rise over this amazing site...the hotel actually looks a bit like a campus, it is Borobudur study centre , rooms a little sterile, no paintings or decoration, but good beds ,clean & comfortable & very helpful & friendly staff..we enjoyed our stay so close to Borobudur! The food, very disappointing! We had to go out of the hotel to eat after our first couple of bland overcooked & tasteless meals , this is such a pity really because the Manohara is a lovely calm , green oasis , a good chef could change things so easily enticing guests to stay relax & also to bring guests from other areas to enjoy the lovely gardens & the view of Borobudur Temple from the main restaurant

Biggest plus: location location location. Inside the temple compound, and only a 2 minute walk from your hotel room to the actual temple. Also, the hotel rate includes the entrance fee to the temple, thus giving unlimited access. Great is a visit at sunrise, few people, quiet and peaceful. The food in the restaurant is very good. Apparently, there are older and newer rooms. My first room was an older one, definitely not up the the (claimed) standard of the hotel and in desperate need of refurbishment. Then moved to a newer room, all fine and modern there.

The location of Manohara Hotel is unrivalled. Just a 5 min quick walk to the entrance of Borobudur. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was slightly dated and the food standard at the hotel restaurant needs to be improved considering its pricey menu; I had a half cooked chicken thigh and generally the 3 meals I had there were bad. I experienced intermitten power breakdown at least 10 times during my second night there (around 9-10.30pm) so that was rather worrying though staff was always on hand to fix the problem.

It was very close to the Borobudur site for convenient enjpoyment. The staff was pleaseant and helpful. The 35 minutes audio visual presentation that was on the TV was excellent and conveneinet. I watched it five times and it improved my uderstanding of Borobudur. Guests should be told before visiting the site that you don't have to go out the general exit and walk all th way back to the hotel frm theother side of the Borobudur. There is a close entry and exit. That wold be helpeful

Nice resort and good value as they include entrance to Borobudur. I was pleased that they charged USD22 for our extra-bed according to the rate at our time of booking although the price had increased to USD32.00.

Located right next to Borobudur temple. Also, day admission to the temple was included in the room price. Old and run-down bathroom requiring renovation. Older room furnishing, linens, brown fuzzy blankets.

Price includes entry to Borobudur everyday of your stay, and discounted entry to the sunrise and sunset tours Everything except the location. The reception staff have never heard of the term 'customer service'. Very unfriendly, very unhelpful. I went to the desk to ask about someone looking at our tv that wasn't working, and the lady at reception didn't even acknowledge that I was standing there for several minutes. You are made to feel like any contact with their guests is a major burden for them. Didn't see a single staff member smile once. The man on reception through the night says 'hello' to people which should qualify him for 'employee of the month'. Rooms were tired and dated. Sheets had stains on, one towel very badly stained, holes in the bedding, mould on the shower curtain and a patio door that was very difficult to secure. Would not recommend if it was the only place in Borobudur to stay.

Best place to visit Borobudur Temple as it is free of charge entry at 06:00. There is no need to pay extra for 4:30 sun rise tour; 06:00 is enough to watch sunrise and for best photo shots

This hotel is a classic in an astonishing location - nowhere better to begin to understand Borobudur Temple complex. The food needs updating - probably to a more cafe style. The cultural entertainment is world class but needs more explanation if the novice is to get the full benefit.
