Score from 403 reviews Good
The hotel is spacious with lush greenery and the pool is near the beach; beach front is beautiful and great view of sun rise. Just round the corner from the hotel is the Bali Connection and plenty of food and shopping .....
The lifts were kind of old and slow ...couple under repair but not a big deal as highest floor is 4th.
the food was good the staff were excellent, the rooms & surroundings were spotlessly clean & the gardens are beautiful,
The gardens and breakfast were fantastic.
No swim up bar, The spa is VERY expensive. Pool is too small.
location, surroundings, and staff
Loved the Sateria bar and deck restaurant.
Room smelled a bit musty, and I was given twin beds rather than a double.
Nice welcome Wifi in all areas including pool and beach Large, comfortable bed Beautiful grounds Room contains a safe and fridge/minibar Staff were all very friendly Big breakfast selection Free bottle of water each day
Beach is not suitable for swimming in
Breakfast and the restaurants are good.
Beach water level is too in low tide to swim. Rooms look a bit dated and need refurbishment
Breakfast was poor
This was booked last minute and not our normal sort of family holiday, but we have just enjoyed our first ever, sit back, relax and do nothing holiday, which was pretty great. We had a double level family room with a mezzanine for adults and lower level for kids, this provides plenty of space and a bit of separation for sanity's sake, rooms are all decked out in timber, beds really comfy, clean and also a lovely balcony with view across the well laid out, green and relaxing resort. Within the spacious resort there is a really nice pool with activities arranged all day, like volleyball, aerobics, etc.; spa/massage treatments in abundance; 5 pretty good quality restaurants; a great beach with beautiful sea; and there is a kids club which was a massive hit with our 5 and 7 year old.
Nusa Dua area is very good for eating and relaxing, for more adventure and "real life Bali" then you need to go further afield and it would be worth spending some days further north or some day trips to see other stuff. The day trips organized through the hotel are not high caliber and I would avoid. Also be aware that there is a very high price tag for everything. Worth eating elsewhere on occasion.
Nice comfy clean rooms. Lagoon access room was great for kids and had a good double pull out sofa bed to give 2 full size singles. Not many hotels will give you 2 additional beds so this was great. Nice size pool. Beach was good for swimming at high tide and at low tide looking for shells etc. The beach at the Melia is in a more sheltered bay between 2 small headlands so the sea is calmer than other hotels in Nusa Dua to the north or south, which is better for kids and swimming. The kids club was good at activities and taking them crabbing and making sandcastles, as well as baking and craft (even though the kids club room could do with a revamp). I liked the you could easily walk to the Sogo and shops and restaurants at The Bali Collection as somewhere to eat out. Also some nice beach front restaurants just next to hotel in The Bay Bali (Bumbu, Benek Bengil, Pirates Cove (great for kids).
Service at the beach restaurant was a bit slow. When activities such as aquarobics and water polo started in the pool, the music was too loud and it took up too much of the pool if you did not want to join in. This is not a critisism of the hotel but Nusa Dua in general is a bit cut off and due to traffic it takes longer to get places for sightseeing around the rest of the island.
I have never met more friendly, happy and hospitable staff. All the facilities are good, the garden is beautiful, the beach and the pool is nice, but you can find similar ones in this category. What makes the difference: the mentality of the staff and their efforts to make our holiday perfect. It was exeptional.
*good location - food places and trinket shopping right around the corner *amazing grounds • GREAT breakfast •Easy excursions right from the hotel
*wish they would give an easy schedule of other happenings at the resort, there was a really neat dance one night that we had just happened to hear from our room. Had we known, we would have not gone out and paid to see one. Just ask about things at the desk
It is a beautiful resort with easy access to multiple restaurants and beach. The buffet in the evening by the beach created a lot of joyful moments! Will certainly choose to stay there again next time.
Wi Fi is too slow.
Loved lagoon access rooms! Loved sateria restaurant. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Water aerobics very fun.
Pool water too warm in both pools. Beach sellers that wont take no for an answer.
We enjoyed our stay, the holiday met all expectations. Good entertainment for the kids kept them busy which meant we could relax. Staff are fab could not do enough for you. Hotel had everything we needed. We will go back.
The food and drinks were priced too high within the hotel complex. Especially when everything is so cheap when eating locally. We only used the hotel food services on the first day as prices were almost the same as Australia.
First hotel in Bali with really big breakfast choose.
If You want to rest and to feel like in a Turkey-this hotel is good for You!No Bali spirit at all.Didn't like at all.Food in restaurant is tragic with 10 times higher prises when normal(I advise to go from hotel(beach side)to the right and You will find nice places to eat with Bali prices and even more delicious.
I went with family with young child. Really loved the room with lagoon access. The swimming pool was just out of the balcony. We loved swimming in the lagoon. I liked the facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is very nice. Free wifi was also good.. Loved the breakfast , plenty of variety. Overall very nice experience. love to go back.
Great location, on the beach. Good breakfast. Good for a all inclusive holidays but not if you want to eat out or shop.
Hotel capacity is too big for my personal taste, too much mass tourism accomodation. Disappointed with the room cleanliness as some of the provided toiletries (shower gel, shampoo) where already used by previous guests and left for us to use without a sealed replacement.
Good location, facilities, services, and private rooms. Nice pool and eating areas.
Wifi was poor and required staff to fix it - despite their attempts it was still poor. Rooms need updating as they are looking tired and dated.
Bali Melia Nusa Dua has nice overall grounds, lush with trees and is quite peaceful.
The buildings, rooms and facilities need a huge facelift to make this place competitive with other options around. It is pricey for how dated it is.
Friendly staff, nice grounds, has own private beach. Can organise a driver to take you around the island easily.
Nusa Dua resort area, where the Melia is, is not real - it's like Bali doing Disneyland doing Bali. This place is great for kids and families or couples who want a sanitised holiday experience in a rich enclave, but it didn't work for me as a solo traveller. Over 1,000 guests so there were far too many people crammed into the breakfast room if you don't go before 7 a.m. Sea very shallow so bad for swimming except for 3-4 hours a day around high tide.
the hotel has beautiful grounds, nice rooms for families and a good swimming pool. The staff were really friendly and competent, the breakfast was great and the activities were fun. The price of meals was reasonable especially when using the pre purchase special.
it is a big resort and it is quite a walk to reception from some rooms but you can't have everything!
The beach was beautiful! Friendly staff and great cocktails! The pool is very nice too.
No WiFi in the room. Drinks and food were quite expensive and the buffet pretty average.
I forgot my phone charger in the room, and they sent me back per courier. They also have a departure lounge where is possible to have a shower and some drinks after the check out
Hotel is very big with a lot of guests
Premium Garden Room on level 3 was spacious and lovely big balcony and furnishings were good. Staff were very helpful, happy and attentive. Breakfast was good and varied if a little noisy in restaurant but we soon found a good area without too much hustle. Overall we had a very relaxing holiday at Melia Bali but if you are after the "real" Bali experience then this area will not be for you head for Ubud.
room smelt bit musty at times and bedding and towels bit worn although clean, for rating of hotel and comparison of our hotel in Ubud. Showers could do with updating although they were always hot and powerful just old for rating of hotel. Nusa Dua is expensive compared to other parts of Bali and for no reason...
