The Hamsa is set against a natural backdrop surrounded by rice fields and the Bali Sea.
Score from 42 reviews Very good
Loved everything apart from the food in the restaurant! Milkshakes were the best in Bali... Food poor !!
Food was very poor! Breakfast was cold no variety only rice and noodles didnt provide for westerners style breakfast. Order pancakes they took 30 minutes to get and they cost 30,000rp and were only small and only got one. The chefs need to go to a cooling school and learn about flavour and how to cool fast for a restaurant.
The location was ok, nice to see dolphins in the presentation at the hotel
The hotel is old, the rooms are no longer in very good condition
Dolphin show, swimming pool
Breakfast less choice, toilet in the room water leaking and wet the bathroom, bathtub very dirty with stain, bed frame loosen..noisy if body turn and even sit on the bed
All staff were great . Inhouse dolphin show highly impressive , fabulous in fact , and will always be remembered . These 2 factors , plus the ultra low room rate more than compensates the negatives during our stay .
No refrigerator in room. Bathroom slippery and unsafe , water leaking onto smooth tiles , and no safety rails .( we are elderly ) . Need shower curtain and more than one towel each . Also need more than one pillow each . Insufficient lighting. Could not access internet . With these matters attended to , we would be happy to pay more than double the rate of this stay . Maybe I should have just booked an upgrade from Deluxe .
The dolphin show.
Room 47 suite. Big space but not utilised to full capacity. The bathroom suite was very ordinary ( big rocks for the bath and floor ??? ) no telephone in suite, no coffee/tea making facilities, no hair dryer. Breakfast everything was cold except omelet.
Animal abuse and lack of competence for keeping these animal in the inhouse hotel zoo, Non cleaning at the room and serious lack of pest control, DO NOT COME HERE, + No wifi unless at reception
Our only reason to come to Melka was the possibility of swimming with the dolphins. This is really great and the hotel has done a good job saving the animals from the bad conditions they suffered under when being kept in a wandering circus. The hotel itself is alright, kind of old and a bit run down with the rooms not really being cosy as being a bit too large and dark.
The attached mini-zoo is awful. The animals are kept without heeding any notion of species-appropriateness. The crocodiles just vegetate on a concrete ground, the monkeys are kept in a dark wire cage. That should be changed - even if there is not much money to be made with these animals. Rather set them free than keeping them under those bad conditions.
It was lovely to swim with the dolphins, but I did worry about their living conditions. The trainers really seem to adore them though and treat them with respect. We got the suite room overlooking the dolphin pool. It was comfortable enough but far from the main restaurant area. The guest swimming pool was wonderful and we could have cocktails while sitting on the water's edge. The buffet meals were also great and the spa was decent. It is close to the beach for the sunrise boat tour. It was great to be out on the water during sunrise for this tour, but we only saw a handful of dolphins and there were tens of boats racing to try and see them whenever they would surface. The 'zoo' part of the resort is not something you want to see.
There was a bath, but the water pressure was not enough to fill the bath. It would have taken a couple hours at least. Only hot water in the bath and not the shower! The room is a bit dark and old. No wifi in the room, it could only be accessed from the public areas.
Very unique hotel with mini zoo and dolphins show. My 2 year old daughter really enjoy indoor and outdoor playground. Room was big and clean as they upgrade my room to suit
The front office ladies while we checkin was very unfriendly yes not friendly at all. luckily the bell boy who escort us to the room really helpful.
The fact that they look after rescued dolphins and my money was feed back into there care.
that you couldn't have a jug for hot water in the room.
Location was ok but little out of town
The room quality and cleanliness was not up to standard for the money. It has gone down hill over the past 5 years
I like the place with a mini zoo. Exspecially swim dolphin and close with animal. Location was great to near the Lovina beach sunrise dolphin tour and those of the staff there are very very friendly always smile with anyone make customer as us feeling great. And the room is quite nyoya vintage feel and the is totally big.
Feeling stay in the room a bit not safe because the next room can go to our room easily. Bathroom have a big window can through to outside although have cotton just feeling not safe.Wifi is not working all the time.
Dolphin Show was OK.
The rooms condition. Beds and upholstery need to be upgraded. The hotel in generally looks a bit out of date. Animals there aren't as much as it used to be.
Dolphins are excellent, to experience, and for the kids. The pool was nice and relaxing with lots of variations in depths for the kids and adult kids. Cocktails from the pool bar are nice and the staff are happy to deliver to the pool. Our room was in a great position close to restaurant and pool (suite 1). Food from the restaurant was excellent along with the help/service from the staff.
The wi fi was only avaliable in restaurant, lobby or snack bar. Unfortunately not avaliable in the rooms. The materess was hard in our room. The 'hot' water is solar and therefore was only hot if the sun was around all day. Cloudy days there didn't appear to b enough to power to warm it.
Pool with dolphins
Awful sea in the near by; strange guests; old rooms; poor breakfasts.
Rooms very old. In our room were biting bugs, neighbors saw the rat in their room Hotel stuff tries to deceive with currency exchange rates Wrong information on the hotel site about swimming with dolphins. On the site children under 2 years old are not allowed, actually under 5 years old, but if you pay for private swimming (300$), everything is ok
the mini zoo and play ground is very good for kid
wifi / internet is not available in every room
The Hotel have so many things that can entertain a young children
The fact that the dolphin show only 3 minutes and everything have additional price even thou we are in house guests
