Nirwana Resort Hotel  

Staff was very professional. They were good organized, friendly, competent and efficient. Room was ok, but nothing special and with old furniture. Unfortunately we didnt get one with a balcony, or an upgrade even though we booked for 8 nights. I liked the breakfast, it was a good mix between international and local with a wide variety of choice. Quite a good offer of activities and sports or things to do, major downside of this was the price, always very high and nothing for free. The beach was good, but one could not swim very much in the sea, it had a lot of plants and it was quite disturbing. If you really like swimming than you'd want to go to MayangSari beach.

Not enough long chairs or shadow near the sea. Prices at the pool bar were painful. The whole currency management is not user friendly. I booked in USD, the prices are shown everywhere in SGD and the final bill at check out is in IDR! the FX impact in all this is something not to sneer at. To top that there was nowhere an atm to retrieve SGD.There quite some restaurants where you can eat, but quite expensive if you are staying a long period. One that was affordable has not a lot of choice. The staff could do with a better english. They are friendly and understand but they do not reply much or it is quite difficult to understand them.

Location very good, the beach was clean and we were almost alone. Swimming pool with sea view is very good. All services are available on site in the lobby. Ideal place to relax, for families with children or people who just wish to lay down on the beach and do nothing.

Prices are relatively expensive. All is in Singapore dollar, and need to pay for any service. Value for money is not so satisfying, but I think good value for money could not really be found in Bintan. I guess that's what it takes to be just 45 minutes from Singapore.

When i asked for the mangrove discovery trip while checking in, the receptionist recommended a private agent for me, which was not approved or recommended by the hotel. But the hotel actually has an officially appointed agent formthe guests, which should be safe; The rooms and facilities were so old; We hardly lost our luggages when we arrived. the overall service level in Bintan is much lower than other popular islands such as Phuket or Bali. The beach was so poor.

We are very disapionted on facilities, rooom not so clean, prices on restorans and for using facilities ---- very high............Staf very unserious and not professional..........We wont come again,for sure :-(

A pleasant stay in a very family-friendly resort.

The resort could do with a facelift/renovation (eg the playground, playroom, poolside restaurant etc. are a bit worn down).

Poor organization viz shuttle services, available resources to guests such as other restaurants, services to town etc--all of which should be part of a intro package for each room. Shuttle announcements while guests wait for shuttles should be better. We missed our shuttles even though we were sitting in the waiting area. We got up twice to ask each bus that came by but none were going to town. And when the right one came, the hotel staff did not announce and we missed it after a half hour wait. This is just one example. Very poor handling of info and services to guests. Will not stay at this resort again ever.

The swimming pool is gorgeous and the beach is literally a stones throw away from the hotel. The Kelong restaurant is INCREDIBLE. On stilts, in the sea, fresh food, beautiful place with great food. Highly recommended. The staff are lovely, accommodating, thoughtful and always willing to help. The man who cleaned our room scattered our bed with flower petals upon realising that we were a young couple. Extremely sweet and genuinely lovely staff. The massage on the beach is divine and an absolute bargain at the equivalent of £15.

Bear in mind, that at the time that we visited, the hotel was fairly quiet. I can imagine that in summer, this resort can be extremely busy. The stretch of beach that the hotel has exclusive access to is not that large. Whilst we managed to get a space with ease, it could be difficult when it is busy. The poolside restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, however it's not awful by any means.

The in room massage. The beach area at sunset. The walk to beach club area. The bus to the ferry. The business centre (must be 24 hours!! Have a cyber-corner in main lobby) and you need reading lights in rooms. And better music (good indonesin MUSIC..not just play school dotties)

All the staffs are very friendly and warm. They fulfill our request if its available. Respond fast. Very attentive. Staffs treat visitor like their family. Nice beach.
