I have to start by saying that whatever things we did not like, we did not really ask/tell the staff during out stay, so I am sure they would have tried to correct problems where possible, but sometimes you're just lazy to pursue the matter. In addition, I can only speak for our room off course, maybe we were unlucky. We stayed in room 1409.
Mostly I have to say that both the pillows we used very extremely dirty inside the pillowcase. I have seldom seen such yellow stained pillows. As I brought an extra pillowcase myself, I just stuck with it for 3 days, but it's quite bad that the staff sees these pillows with each time cleaning the room, yet just continues using them. The bed itself was also not very pleasant. The matress was obvious from a lesser quality than in other hotels. In addition, either the mattress or the bed or both were so noisy and wobly when moving, that every time one of us turned in our sleep, the other person woke up, especially if not in a deep sleep yet. As a bed is a quite important part of the room, this, together with the pillows, was the biggest drawback.
Besides the above the rest of the room was ok, though nothing special. Modern looking, but also sligtly boring. TV reception was not great, the showerdoor made such a big cracking sound when opened past half-way that you got a scare every time, as if the glass might break. The bathroom set (shampoo, etc.) was just the bare minimum, but nothing compared to the complete package of Swiss-belhotel. Lots of wear and tear damage in many places, as well as on the floor. The minimalist looking couch-seat does not compare to a proper lounge-chair.
The location is good with pleasant surroundings, at least if you are ok not being in the city itself. The hotel in general is ok(ish), as are the rooms, so we did not really have an unpleasant stay, but there is much room for improvement and all in all the hotel does not really impress. Staff was fine though as far as we experienced it.
