The welcoming and accommodating staff. The architecture of the hotel makes you feel as if you're part of a historical landmark in Bali.
The location was very isolated and out of the way. Most cab drivers did not know where it was located either.
The best thing by far in this hotel is interior. Amazing bali-style sculptures, fontains, swiming-pool with trees on the sides. On the first sight one can literally fall in love with this place. It even has its own temple. Might be a good idea, if you are crazy about living in a very authentic place.
Awkward location, a little far from any tourist attractions including any beach. Poor choice of restaurants near the hotel. The roads are not very crowded, but still impossible to get anywhere by walk due to the lack of sidewalks. You definitely don't want to open any drawer in your room. Obviously, it hasn't been cleaned since the very begining. Moreover, contrary to our expectations our own pool was very dirty and pretty cold. Towels with somebody's blood on them after laundry. Be ware of periodical shut down of electricity and water. Wi-fi is just terrible. All in all, bad location, lack of cleanness, good interier and swiming-pool. Good idea with poor realization. Wouldn't recommend.
The grounds and garden are a soothing relief from the hustle and bustle of Denpasar streets. There is a magnificent park just a few minutes walk from the hotel where you can do your morning or evening walks in peace. The pool was great for my son. No mosquitoes in January.
A little too far from anywhere, so a taxi is almost always necessary. The furnishings in our room were tired and need some improvement. Compared to other establishments in Denpasar, the breakfasts need to be more imaginative and substantial for the price charged.
The Gardens were wonderful. The Villa was big and spacious. The staff were friendly to a point.
The Villa looked liked it had not had a good cleaning in years, looking for an outlet, and found huge amounts of dust behind the bed and in the head board. The Dipping Pool with the villa was not clean before our arrival, meaning the growth of the greenery around the area was a bit over grown. The bathroom was nice and open but the toilet seat it self was old, and needed to be replaced. The staff were nice, but laughed when we needed them to call us a cab. the location was not great for first timers to Bali. We had no idea where to go and what to do in our location, not walking distance to anything we needed or wanted to do.
Bit far from Denpasar but still really good. =)
Nice garden, also the room looks really nice. The garden and pool are clean.
The badroom was not clean. Not the best location (around 3 km to the beach).
There is no doubt that the pool and grounds are the best features of this hotel. The pool was big and in a gorgeous setting and the grounds were immaculately maintained.
Think Fawlty Towers. No doubt, not without its charms, but not what most will be looking for with their trip to Denpasaar. How was the 24hr restaurant with Chinese, Indonesian and Western food with live entertainment? Well, that depends on how you feel about attributing properties to non-existent objects. How about the room service to replace it? It wasn't too bad if you caught them in the 20 minutes a day they actually answered the telephone. What about the 3minute drive to Sanur beach? Well, for those of us not possessed of a space craft, the walk took about an hour along a motorway with no footpath. This was particularly bothersome as it wasn't clear where else one could go to obtain drinking water (unless your thirst happened to breakout in the twenty minutes a day room service answered the telephone). And what about the wi-fi? I'm pretty sure Fred Flinstone had better internet access. And the final question you might not think to ask: how about the mosquitos? Holy smokes.
Bad Location, really far away from the beach and the Restaurants. No 24h Service or Restaurant
Mosquitos Staff with poor grasp of English
