I loved the colonial architecture. No matter what, you have to try the pool. The service was excellent. The staff was both competent and fast. I was very impressed.

This is a very nice, old and atmospheric hotel. Almost like walking in a museum, we liked it a lot. The breakfast is the best we ever had in a Indonesian hotel, with lots of Western and Asian food, including a "jamu" woman for traditional medicine. Rooms are not as modern as in a new hotel, but they are kept clean and beds are comfortable. Location it is about 1 km from railway station. Cheap Airport bus stops next door. There is a minimart nearby. Highly recommended!

At checkin, staff wanted us to pay for the whole stay and even demanded to go to the ATM to get more money. That left a bit unpleasant feelings. But the rest of the hotel staff was very polite and friendly.

Design and the facility of the hotel

We didn't get what we have requested (we asked for the room facing the pool). The receptionist said the room that we requested is given to other person. We finally moved to the room facing the pool but adding IDR 150,000 per nights.

Room is clean and tidy, ambience and decoration was unique.

The noises. Located in one of the busy streets in Jogja and because we got a room near the "kampung", it was a bit noisy in the morning.

Staff not Evan know how to find room. Beds where bug ridden. Bought bug spray and sprayed beds just to be able to sleep. Will never stay or recommend this hotel again.

Given the rate I paid this hotel represented extraordinary value. Every minute was a joy. Were you to choose this hotel, and have the experience my partner and I enjoyed, I cannot imagine what criticism could be made.

The Phoenix is a swish, near-luxury hotel in a renovated Dutch mansion in an attractive part of Yogya. It is a very beautiful hotel with excellent restaurant, comfortable rooms. I got a budget price and hit the jackpot. If you see an good offer, take advantage!

Paper thin walls and windows. The view from pool is great. Bad part screaming kids! Pool area is smoking only! Disgusting! The room on the opposite side of pool had a family with infant. Baby cried for hours. I could hear is so clearly even with my patio door closed. Very very thin insulation.

The staff is friendly and they do provide a simple breakfast box for guest that left the hotel in the early morning before the buffer breakfast start. Quite surprise with this breakfast box supply.

It was one of the best hotels we ever stayed at. The building is beautiful and really quite. The pool, staff, service and food are amazing.
