Nice and hospitable Owners. The staffs are quite friendly. The room is romantically designed, especially the bed is equipped with firmed mattress and wrapped with nice mosquito net.

We stayed for 2 nights, but housekeeping never stopped by to clean the room. : ( We stopped by the restaurant asking for beverages to be delivered to the room, unfortunately the order was never delivered. : (

Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Very clean hotel and well maintained. Comfortable room, although a bit small, with balcony and nice view on the garden and the lake.

It was empty when we stayed nut told that it would be busy in a few days time. For us the tranquility and waving for the ferry was a highlight. Food was good and plenty of other places to eat. The birdlife was wonderful and inspiring. The community in Tuktuk were special - hardworking and helpful in so many ways

The journey from Medan to Parapat was manic but once the lake was in sight everything changed. We are concerned that in two years the tranquilty will disappear and already there are signs of this with speed boats appearing- such a pity as this could be an eco-resort - it needs a bit more imagination from the powers-that-be

location (and it is not located in Ambarita, but in Tuk Tuk; the location on the map here is wrong, too); cleanliness; great double showers with hot water (which is not obvious on Lake Toba); view of the Lake Toba from our balcony (a little hidden by a growing palm tree, but still!)

the street price for the room was lower than what we got here and still we got a very small room (it was really small -- it was hard to move aroung the bed and other rooms for 2 we have seen were much larger); for that price the room was not serviced at all (no towels changed, not even trash taken away); the restaurant was OK. for breakfast, but for dinner it was a disappointment (limited choice, too high prices) -- it is very easy to get a much better meal for a much better price near by; cash only for the payment may be troublesome for longer stays

Firstly, Toba Village Inn is not in Ambarita, it's in Tuktuk. This is a good think, because there is nothing much going on in Ambarita. Tuktuk has many more restaurants, etc

TVI is at the edge of Tuktuk, the first hotel as you come into the town. So it isn't very central. There is nothing particularly wrong with it, but there are better value hotels such as Tabo Cottages just a bit further along the road

Unobstructed lake view, lotus ponds and pool.

Dirty room and smelly toilet. No toilet paper/slippers provided. No in-room tea/coffee facility. No water recreation facilities eg. canoe, fishing etc. apart from pool. Lots of mosquitos in the room. Slow service in restaurant. Poor quality extra bed. Unhelpful staff after hours eg. to provide hot water for baby food. NOT recommended for families particularly with young children.

    Strategic place, very coozy.

Although its near the lake, it seems to us that there is no air circulation system in the rooms (air con, fan, etc.)
