had to walk 30 minutes to get a western breakfast, but they are building a little kitchen
A. Musty toilet b . dirty toilet c . dirty bed spreads d. Construction works going on 2 rooms away e. Poor wifi connection f. Uncomfortable mattress, one could feel the springs
The staff were so helpful, Wayan made our stay a pleasure, so much so that we booked a second week at Tugu House when we returned to Ubud. It is great value for money, and it is a nice distance from Ubud centre.
Loved Tugu house so much we stayed on our two separate visits to Ubud. The staff here are wonderful, and even helped us learn some Balinese. I would most definitely stay here every time I visit Ubud :-)
Loved everything. The only downside was slow wifi, but that's not important :-P
I arrived super late in the morning and my host kindly got up to let me in at 2am in the morning. Thank you. The room was nice although beware cold water. Outside is a little table and chairs to view the most amazing tree with cascading vines trickling down. For the price and location (super close to main street, Jazz Cafe and Yoga Barn) you can't go wrong here. I'm sure if you are a couple the top terrace apartment would be amazing. As for the service, excellent. Staff were so helpful :)
Peace and quiet
No handrail on terrace and long drop
Location is perfect if you love the quite and only a few minutes to the centre of Ubud. Amazing beautiful jungle views from our terrace , rooms were fantastic value for money. Bathroom very clean , good hot water in shower. The staff extremely helpful and very friendly . A greate place to relax in close contact with the nature.Would highly recommend to stay at Tugu House !
Very nice and friendly staff! The guesthouse is located perfectly a little apart from the city center but quite close to it!!! Very nice big rooms. The staff takes care about the room every day and even fresh towels everyday!
Staff always friendly with a big smile and eager to please. Very quiet location close to some forest. Very comfortable rooms.
A bit of a walk to Ubud downtown (though a trade-off with it being quiet).
Im travelling through for 4 months now and this was probably the nicest accomodation I had for a price like this. I highly recommend this place
The garden is beautiful but the rooms need a thoroughly good clean. We cleaned the bathroom and the fridge ourselves and at any price that should never have to happen. The two girls that work at Tugu are very friendly but communication was a little difficult (us not speaking any Indonesian and they not speaking much English). The owner seems like a nice chap but we didn't see him much after we had explained we didn't want to do any day trips.
Rooms are a bit dark and need a proper cleaning. The bathroom of the best room offered is dark and cave like. On the surface a pretty place to stay. Oh and we disregarded a previous post about the cockerels in the morning but they really are loud and legion.
room was cosy and facing the jungle was a nice view...staff was accomodating and flexible to our requests
the bathroom...too dark...flooring was collecting water and hygene was poor
Very nice and quiet place where to spend a romantic stay
Great friendly staff that was very helpful both at the hotel and understanding things to do in Ubud!
I have already filled this out
I left after the first night. It was moldy and dank. The room was dirty. I asked the staff if I could have a cup of coffee and she said yes and then never arrived. I asked the girl about it and she looked clueless. I found another homestay for the same price that's 300% better.
free showergel & daily room service
There were cockroaches and ants in the deluxe room. We had to pay for our included breakfast. The staff arranged a transport for us and we they said YES to our concret prices and locations, but in the end we only got to the center of town and had to pay a lot more than it was said the day before. The driver got very angry and wanted more money but we rejected. He slammed the door and shouted => unfriendly. (He couldn't even drive because he switched gears after 5000 rpm...) Restaurants are too far away for walking. Chicken screamed day and night. No quiet place. Wouldn't recommend it.
friedly staff + nice and clean room (for cheap price)
A nice house stay with a beautiful garden in the jungle.
Very difficult to find!
The bed was nice and comfortable, the room itself was nice.
Everything sadly became a money grab for them. Was offered breakfast for an additional fee even though it was suppose to be included. I asked to move to the less expensive room and was told that there was no air conditioning and that was why the price difference. The a/c didn't work in my room until the last day I was there (1 week), which he was aware of and wouldnt discount the room even though I had paid extra for the air conditioning. There was always someone going in and out of my room throughout the day, everyday...which was really uncomfortable for me and my belongings. There was no privacy
Tugu House is a gorgeous little homestay in the backstreets of ubud. Quiet and close to a river with a gentle garden views. Komang was so kind to us and the breakfast he made was one of the best I'd had anywhere in Bali. The rooms were beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable. The very value for money of anywhere we've stayed in four years of coming to Bali.
Really nice place with a beautifull garden and view. Hot water and clean room with a very low price.
The view from our 'balcony' was amazing and it had the best breakfast we had so far!!
The watertank on the roof makes a strange noise (also during the night) and the bathroom was a bit smelly, but nothing compared to the pro's!!
The bed was comfy, the room was clean, the bathroom with hot water was more than enough, the terrace view was awesome, and to make it even more a nice place to stay: the owner, Bli I Gusti Ngurah is very nice and friendly. I will definitely stay there again when I visit Ubud.
nothing much, just because ubud was rainy, maybe it affects the bed and pillow sheets as they became a little bit damp and smelly. but other than that, awesome place!
