Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.
Sanur is the closest beach to the island’s capital, Denpasar, with its many temples and museums. Booking.com has a range of hotels along Sanur Beach or close to Ngurah International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport.

It has been 10 years since we were in Sanur and it was wonderful to be back. A relaxed place with a vast range of restaurants, shopping for everyone at every price range. An excellent spot for families, couples and singles on holiday. As a person with mobility issues I didn't have to go far to get everything I needed.

I really enjoyed my stay in Sanur.
I really enjoyed my stay in Sanur. I ended up a Besakih Beach Hotel. It was great! Typical old style Balinese, clean, comfortable, great staff and not over the top expensive for a beachfront hotel. The beachfront walkway is awesome. Lots of cafes/eateries, shops along the way. Not overcrowded. I had one of the best facial & foot massages ever at a basic little spa shop (aircon) on the walkway called Dd Reflexology Bali. I also enjoyed an evening meal at Oliver's Place (very professional service) and lunch at Lilla Warung (no aircon but great food). Spoilt for choice really. And the best money changer is PT. Dirgahayu Valuta Prima Money Changer with the lime green sign.

Very friendly people.
Very friendly people. Great cafes and food.. the 6.5 km beach path is excellent. The beach water quality is poor. I loved riding a bicycle everywhere, but there is too much traffic generally. Food quality is very good and varied. Supermarket prices are expensive.

We stayed in Bali for 2 months, my 3rd trip and the last one. sadly. The place is too crowded now, the charm is gone, you get charged at every step for everything. Soon Bali will start charging you for the air you breathe.

Sanur is a great place to stay.
Sanur is a great place to stay. This trip the area was quiet with great views. The traffic in this area is good so you are able to cross the street and walk around in comfort. The food is amazing on the Main Street and beach frount.
The staff was really kind and helpful. The Regency Club access is a must have. With it you can enjoy the cocktail hours which is way beyond your imagination (drinks and foods). The bbq restaurant was also exeptional.
We were 3 different city in Bali (Ubud, Gili and Sanur). Be prepared that this Hotel (and Sanur Beach itself) is similar to western, european trends, not traditional style. It is not a good or bad thing, just a fact. It is your choice which do you prefer.
I recently stayed at the RedDoorz Plus at Sunrise Hotel Sanur, and I must say that I was quite impressed with the overall experience. One of the things I particularly liked was the prompt refill of complimentary drinks that were offered. The hotel staff was attentive and ensured that we never ran out of water or coffee. Another aspect that stood out to me was the exceptional housekeeping service. They did an excellent job of making the bed and keeping the room tidy.
Very clean and comfortable hotel with wonderful staff and great breakfast (loved the banana pancakes). The pool area (equipped with pool towels) is very nice as well to just relax. The location of the hotel makes it very easy to explore Sanur or get to the port to get to the other islands.
In comparison to most other hotels I’ve stayed in during my travels in Bali, Akaya is super clean, and the room, bed, shower, etc make it super comfortable to stay here.
We only stayed one night, but we wished we had planned our trip just to get at least one extra night. The hotel is beautiful, lovely pool area, beautiful very modern room (especially compared to other places we’ve stayed in Bali), comfortable and clean. Great location too 5 minutes from the beach and about 30 minutes walk to Sanur beach and town centre and there’s so many places to eat along the beach front and in the town. Just overall really lovely.
Pleasant and comfortable hotel in the heart of nord Sanur. The hotel is located in a side road so overall it is very quiet, but yet very central and a lot of good restaurants are easy to reach by foot.
The room was very clean and we were provided extra towels for the pool.
There were few choices for breakfast available, they must be chosen one day in advance.
The staff was lovely in helping us with extra requests and to organize transport.
Love this end of Sanur. It is a big resort so if you like that feel this is a good choice. Pool is fantastic and if you have children the other pool is amazing for them. Buffet breakfast is great and certainly plenty available. They have music on the beach some nights which is great. Rooms are clean and staff are great, nothing is a bother. Sometimes hard to get across what you want with reception with the language barrier.
Perfect location right on the beach but also within walking distance of local shops and restaurants.
Breakfast had a wide variety of foods and some even cooked fresh for you by the chefs on hand.
Lovely couple of restaurants at the hotel which are along the beach walkway. Rooms are spacious, quiet with comfortable beds. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely hotel for families with young children and teens.
Excellent location, walk through to Sanur beach. Restaurants and cafes to left, right and front of hotel. Staff were excellent and very helpful if you need transfers. Pools very clean and gardens beautiful. Wifi great, rooms good size. Free umbrellas and beach out front with a walkway too see many cafes. Air-conditioning very strong! Beds comfortable and villa had nice private area out front to sit.
The location of Respati Beach Hotel is perfect. Right on the beach and in the middle of Sanur. The staff were extremely helpful and really lovely. We had a late flight leaving Bali but we were able to leave our luggage at reception, spend the day on the beach and then use a room to shower before going to the airport. What a bonus. We loved our stay at Respati. We highly recommend this hotel.
Stunning location on the beach at Sanur. My room was near the beach - not with a view - but I felt I was in paradise. The room was large, comfortable and they provide free water in the rooms. Breakfast was delicious. Close to an abundance of great Day Spas and plenty of other food choices for lunches and dinners wandering away from the hotel.
The host is super-friendly and welcome. Rooms are stylish, clean and well-maintained. It's possible to rent a scooter at the hotel. It takes 3 minutes to get to surfing spots from here, and 5-10 to good eating places in Sanur. Also, the breakfast in the hotel is very good.
The staff are good and welcoming and attend to special requests. We knew it would not be a first choice hotel but still we chose it due to it being very close to Sanur Port and we could walk to the port in 7/8 mins for our boat very early in the next morning.
very well located on the beachfront, the hotel architecture (except the large concrete lobby) is superb, and the rooms are very agreeable. The staff is really nice, the food perfect... I am used to be very demanding, I was here very pleased.
Just lovely! It's a cosy, small hotel, very friendly staff. Nice rooms. I will choose this hotel again if I come back to Sanur. They also accepted to keep our luggage while we went to Nusa Penida for a few days. Thank you for doing that!
Great hotel right in the middle of the main street of Sanur. Close walking distance to the beach or you can take a shuttle and relax in one of their lounge chairs on the beach. Breakfast was very good with lots of selection. Nice pool.
The location of the hotel was perfect
Good value for money
I will definitely recommend to my family and friends
First time in Sanur we enjoyed our stay
Not very busy great for a relaxing holiday
Not on the beach but only a short 5 min walk to Sanur Beach. Rooms are nice and clean. A/C is good. Food is excellent and staff are polite and helpful. Connecting rooms for families is good.
Great location on the beach, nice pool. Everything you could need. Classic Bali accommodation - lovely garden and buildings, not too modernised & with a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Salute to this hotel. keep the service during the difficult pandemic time. good luck. i hope the green zone Sanur program by the govt will revive tourism soon.
