I was thoroughly impressed with the hostel staff. The first girl I met was a little mopey, but the rest of the staff was super helpful with getting me directions to the bus, suggesting wonderful places to visit, and offering lovely conversation in general! I was at the hostel in January, so it was not very crowded at all and I had plenty of room in my 14 bed dorm. My 3rd floor dorm was comfy but I can't speak for them all. Showers were awesome and had hot water!! This hostel is a maze of twists and turns but I found it artsy and charming. Probably the best breakfast offered from a hostel. Loved the computer room and hammock room for chilling. All in all felt really at home. Very close to some great restaurants, pubs, transit, and other hostels with your new friends :)
Didn't use the kitchen much so can't speak to that. Really nothing stands out as a negative experience!
Computer Room Staff was really nice!
the 42-bed dorm was a nightmare; it smelled like urine, feces, vomit, feet, you name it. could hardly breathe. impossible to sleep.
Great location, clean and comfortable!
Close to city. Staff were excellent.
One of the toilets was broken for the three days I was there and not fixed. My top bunk also had a low beam above it giving even less head room. Long walk to the bathrooms.
Very well located in the centre of Dublin, youth hostel with a lot of furnitures (cinema room, PC room, play room) and a lot of offers (free WIFI and breakfast, free walking city tour..) and very clean share areas such as showers and toilets. Heating works very well (journey in December). And the good price-quality ratio makes The Abbey Court Hostel a really good place to go for a trip between friends !
Mattress not very comfortable, some plugs don't work, think of taking your own padlock because those of the hostel are expensive
Great helpful staff, amazing people in the hostel and generally a good time every time I returned, for socialising and meeting people from different backgrounds this is the hostel to be
Just a shame I wasn't staying here longer
I can't invited my friend??? This is not good for me!! I payed 400 euro for moUnt!!!
Location is excellent.price is reasonable.breakfast is good.Staff very frikitcheendly and helpful.
Kitchen not very clean.Mainly because of other guests mess.
Position and hammock
People who gets food of others
Location, Personel, Friendship, Breakfast
Noisy and crowded rooms
Design, wi fi, employers, we felt like at home.
You have to pay for the adaptor, not enough time for breakfast, and there is not too much space.
Good location Really friendly staff Free breakfast
Cost (16 euros for a ~28 bed dorm when you can get a bed at the best rated hostel for 8.50) Charging for luggage storage (2 euros) and padlocks (hire for 4 euros, buy for 8) Crammed nature of the 28 bed dorm
Central location, great facalities if you are staying in for the need of an early start. Quite secure and safe too.
Kitchen good service but breakfast options rather limited while not a big issue it is a bit disappointing
Location - location wise, it was superb. Most of the main attractions in the city were within 15-20 minutes walk and O'Connell street being just right around the corner made it easy to get to the airport with heavy luggages I had.
1. Cleanliness - the pictures of the facilities were very misleading. It must have been cleaned and polished just for the photoshoot and was never cleaned since then. This place is packed with people and the mess they create each day is probably well above staff's capability to maintain the cleanliness of the facility. But I have to say, it was disgusting. 2. no elevator - I was assigned in the room on the top floor and I had two heavy luggages. it was a bummer 3. It didnt say female dorm but there was no "mixed" indication when I booked the room so I assumed it was for female only but was assigned in a mixed room. I wouldnt have booked if it was a mixed room. Discription of the room should be clarified.
the staff is really friendly and the facilities are great!
The bed is too small and no protection on one of the sides of the bunk beds
Leonardo the Italian Guy is very polite and professional . He has a good customer service experience
I booked and requested for a bottom bed 2 weeks before the arrival date and the Brazilian lady in my arrival at the reception said sorry i can't give you a bottom bed . She said i don't have when i arrived in the room i saw some bottom bed empty . I think she need some customers service training and some notions of the hostel computer system to deal with situations . She also said to me you can eat breakfast as a much you want ? Did i say i am starving ? omg better if she go to work in a farm
staff, location, price, don't expect much as this is what you paid for.
the room was squeezy and messy with everyone's luggage and clothes everywhere (and people snoring, they charge for earplugs too), room was far and deep inside the hostel, bathroom has no rack to put your toiletries on, powerpoint only at the walls of some beds, luaggage storage (front desk) is 2 euros for guest. Worst of all, my bed was on top of the bulk bed in the middle of the room, so if you were clumsy, you might basically roll over as the metal frame for bulk bed is only protecting you on right hand side of the bed, the left hand side does not have metal frame/barrier.
Great location, working wifi, really nice staff
Rooms/beds and toilets/shower are very dirty. Staff is incompetent (especially the general manager with who I wanted to discuss. She told me to leave if I were not satisfied). I really advise against that hostel, there are plenty other hostel in Dublin that are much better.
The place was huge and offered a lot to do.
The showers were so small and dirty, our room smelled like a middle school boys locker room.
I liked how close it is for everything.. its a really hot spot in dublin. Access to everything by walking.
The pillows were uncomfortable
A nice clean hostel with good facilities and in a great location. Staff were very helpful when we needed to book an extra night.
They asked for photo ID, which I did not have. I had an out of date student card, and of course credit/debit cards, but they were not happy with these. They wanted passport or driving licence. Since I booked on the internet, I would have expected the site to specify that you needed ID. The girl did let me stay, but she was less than impressed.
The location is fairly good
I turned up at 10 a.m at the hostel altgouht my check in supposed to be at 2 p.m, there a enormous queue really annoying and despite I have commented that I'd rather have a bottom bunk, they put me on the top bed! But all right.. The thing is that the guy who was sleeping under my bed couldn't stop moving himself, thus my bed was also moving! I couldn't sleep at all. To conclude my fed up, the wifi didn't work well in my room (39)!!
Cleanliness. Lots of hot water and great pressure in showers. Very little street noise.
No coat hooks in rooms, no shelves beside beds (for spectacles, phones etc). No charging sockets beside each bed. **I ran a hostel for eight years in Sligo and fitted all above after listening to hostellers comments.** Security cages under bunks are a good idea, but very noisy if used very early or late at night.
