If you want a warm welcome, lovely homemade breakfast, and a good chat with a laidback and sociable Irish dear; this is the place. My husband found the bed and the electric blanket so comfortable that he couldn't stop grinning. The room was well heated and the water was hot when we arrived late at night. The breakfast was lovely with a choice of pancakes and eggs or a full Irish breakfast plus cereals, cheeses and fresh Irish breads. I was travelling with my mother and mother and law and they loved the atmosphere. The hostess chatted with us over breakfast and gave us directions to the ferry, tips on places to go and eat, and even offered us her own coupon to her favorite restaurant. If you need to catch the ferry early in the morning, this place is great, as you miss all the morning traffic and can drive a lovely country road most of the way there.
When we woke up in the morning, the whole downstairs was frigidly cold. It seemed that the heaters and water heaters were on a timer and had shut off between 2am and 8am. It was cold that no one could stand to take a shower in the morning. We thought that maybe this is just an Irish cultural thing? The ventilation was also very poor in the bathroom. After taking a shower at night and leaving the bathroom window cracked all night, there were still droplets of condensation on the bathroom ceiling.
I booked this B&B by accident and it was the best thing that could have happened. The owner is one of the nicest ladies I've ever met and she truly cares about your stay. I was traveling with two other friends (all males, 21-24 years old) and she treated us like one of her own children. On the day of check-out, she let us borrow her golf clubs and shoes to go play a round at the course across the street. It was my favorite experience from our entire trip.
hospitality from the host breakfast electric blanket
Very welcoming, really enjoyed the stay, provided excellent advise for eating out and of the local area, would easily stay again.

Great Location and Friendly Staff.
We were very happy with our stay at Abbey View. Bernie was very nice and gave us great directions for the places we wanted to see. Would recommend staying there for any of our friends visiting the Galway area.
A very friendly owner, very communicative, we liked our stay there a lot and would recommend it to everyone.
Getting into a warm bed at 4 am made my break Thank u
Wonderful Breakfasts. Convenient location for exploring in all directions, including downtown parking areas and the beautiful Burren & Connemara areas. Great food in Hotel Pub directly across road. We were there for three nights, wish we had spend another two there. Bernie always had informative suggestions for all our touring needs with good maps and books for reference.
The shower pressure was low, as it seemed to be in all the B&B's we stayed in.
Great location and the host was amazing! She was so nice and recommended so many things to do in the area. Breakfast was great and she was always asking if we wanted more to eat (even though we were full!) :) The bed was very comfortable and she had lots of books to read to research what we wanted to do. Also, she always offered us tea, coffee, or hot chocolate when we got back to the B&B after being out all day which was a nice extra "touch"!
The bathroom was so tiny and the shower barely had any pressure, like I noticed at most B&BS in Ireland. But this one was by far the least shower pressure.
No other place like this in Galway. Fireplace, electric pad on bed(this makes you fall to sleep before light switch off) and perfect host. We had a wonderful time at this B&B.
The staff were wonderful and helpful it was very clean and very cozy. 10 out of 10. Highly recommended.
our host very friendly and helpful, room clean and comfy, breakfast fantastic, all good, well worth coming back
Old fashioned & cramped room.
Bernie's wonderful hospitality, kindness and helpfulness is second to none. I travelled with my daughter from Tyrone to Galway for the university open day. Bernie was very welcoming, and we soon sat by the fire with a cup of tea! Our room was homely with cosy beds! Great breakfast and we chatted to other guests from around the globe! Bernie gave us an excellent tip for a road trip around Connemara which we undertook and it was marvellous! Thank you so much!
Bernie was an absolute delight! My wife and I stayed 2 nights here and we had a great time. Bernie would make sure we knew exactly where we needed to go when we told her our plans and made a delicious breakfast every morning. We felt like family for our entire stay.
Bernie was very warm and helpful. Breakfast was very good
The room was a little small but everythun else was wonderful
The Location, The Staff, The Peace and Quiet but also how close we were to the city.
Warm hospitality extended by Bernie. She was very obliging and helpful. Comfortable rooms with ensuites. Good restaurant just over the road. Located on the north side of the city and this suited us. Easy access to Galway city. Great place to stay.
Fantastic location and easy to find. Lovely hostess and great breakfast.
The rooms were on the small side but still very comfortable and clean.
excellent hostess made us feel like home from the first minute, great recommendations for local travelling, perfect spot for exploring both Galway and Connemara National Park, everything was clean and comfy, generous and tasty breakfast
Friendly helpful owner who took an interest in our travels and provided lots of information of the area Tea and biscuits on arrival in a lovely lounge area for guests Great breakfast
Bernie couldn't have been a better host! After hearing we'd been caught in a storm she took care of our laundry, made us tea, and stared a fire for us to warm up by! The house was comfortable and inviting while also quiet.
Nothing. It was perfect!
Another chance to experience Bernie's warm hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and she made us all feel very welcome. Roll on the next visit.
