Beautiful castle. Good shower. Room had not been cleaned since last user. Also, stains on what was presented as clean towels and bathrobes. Water from sink and bathtub was brown. Staff prematurely checked us out, and trashed part of our personal belongings, forgetting we had actually booked two nights. Extremely embarrassing situation. |

Beautiful views and stunning vistas; we loved our room and the character of the hotel! Front desk staff unresponsive an conveyed this attitude tha you were putting them out and you would have to wait for them; a real downside; |

It has a wonderful location and view. Cool hotel, but needs to be updated with more modern amenities. Free breakfast was horrible. |

Everybody (all the staff) was very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a beautiful view looking down a hillside with a pretty fountain and lovely flowers and bushes surrounding the property. Everything was very nice. There was nothing I did not like. |

The location was nice and peaceful and the location was very central to the sightseeing we did in West Galway and Mayo. I know the bog water is a feature taht the Hotel uses and promotes, however, I hated the smell in the bathroom after everytime I flushed the toilet. I felt it was more like sewage then bog. |

the grounds were very nice for walking - not far from the town either and beautiful walking countryside Very dissapointed with our stay, expected this to be more upmarket after viewing the website, discusting smell when you walk in the door to reception due to having a parot beside the reception desk, served with dirty glass at the bar, lock on door didnt work, very basic room and dark, although does look like a castle on the outside it no way resembles one on the inside - staff were not unpleasant... |

The service at the hotel was fantastic. The welcome we recieved on arrival and throughout our stay was brilliant. The afternoon tea and champange reception were nice complimentary touches. The food and athmosphere in the restaurant was 5*. We will definitely be back for again for a longer stay next time. A service charge was added to the bill - this was not clear when booking the room. However we felt that the service we recieved was worth the service charge. |

It was a little bit of heaven. The journey to get there was long but it was worth every mile. The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and wanted for nothing. There was nothing not to like. |

I was very pleased to see the owners constantly present and very much involved in the daily running of the hotel. |

complimentary afternoon tea was a pleasant touch, although the scones and pastries were mediocre. the owner was a very chatty fellow, and eager to please at breakfast. the hotel was dark and rather shabby inside. We did meet very friendly staff, but that was not enough to make up for the overall dingy appearance of the facilities. We booked it for the fun of a castle stay, but although it sort of looked like a castle on the outside , the inside was not special at all. the rooms were quite small and very dark. |

The location was good as we there for a Rugby match, found a nice friendly pub in Cliften and had very nice light meal one night. First night there we were kept awake by loud music that did not start until after 12 and did not finish until 3am, we complained and were moved to another room for second night, we found the hotel more suitable to groups, and there were lots of them that weekend, we felt a bit ignored in the restaurant as the staff seem to know everybody there, but the food was excellent. |

This was by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in! We enjoyed the luxury of a four poster bed, an open fire and roll top bath in our room. The staff were supberb, not forgetting Gilbert who is the star of the show! The bar / lounge areas were great and we enjoyed several pints of the black stuff as we listened to the sing song around the piano. The restaurant was lovely and the food fantastic. |
