From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and every effort was made to make us feel at home. A true warm welcome. The breakfast is by far the best in the Clifden area and dinner is also top notch. I normally stay away from Mushroom soup, but my goodness there's is to die for. A wonderful experience I would highly recommend to anybody.

We really enjoyed our stay in Abbeyglen. The location is spectacular, and our stay was enhanced by the lovely weather The staff were very attentive and courteous, and the owners give personal attention to their guests. Dinner was excellent on the Saturday night and great to see a full dining room.

Our room was superb, the extra touches such as Bites and Bubbly in the bar, tea and scones. Very good indeed. Best steak I've had in a good long time at dinner. Lots of hot water for baths and showers. over all a great experience and we will come again. Only minor things but I'll put them in as observations to help the hotel. We were seated at a table for dinner as it was being set, not good. The Chilean white wine we chose was warm and piss poor- I know I should have spent more. The desserts weren't to my liking but the blue cheese was great could have had a variety of crackers other than Jacobs. I found the bill quite steep and will probably eat out next time.

I stayed in the hotel a number of years ago and fell in love with it and the surrounding area straight away. Since that I always said i would return again. On my return I found the hotel to have the same feeling it did for me back then. The lovely cosy feeling and athmospehere that meets one on arrival still remains the same. The bedroom and dining room were very inviting and cosy. The attendence and friendliness of the staff in reception and the dining room for dinner was excellent. We were not left waiting too long to be served in between our courses at dinner. The athmosphere in the cosy bar was again excellent. The music and song by all I really enjoyed. All in all...our stay was really enjoyable and I most certainly will be back again soon. Thanking you all.... Mary @ Garrett

Old world, old school feel Friendly helpful staff Excellent food Lovely lobby parrot! Nice acoustic music in the bar and restaurant, traditional Irish, solo piano etc. Soothing, not screeching! Dim room lighting Internet wifi only in lobby. Like most Irish properties, a little cool for a December visit. These are minor annoyances only, no serious gripes.

Lovely hotel, old fashioned luxury. This hotel is perfect for a relaxing or romantic break. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were great. Afternoon tea with scones served from 3 to 5 pm (free!) was a lovely touch, we had ours on a comfy sofa infront of an open fire. I wouldn't call this hotel 'grand' but it is charming. I would reccommend it for anyone that needs a break or for people who like their holiday somewhere close to the great outdoors, clifden is beautiful.
