This accommodation was like a home from home. Bernie & Aisling were really welcoming, the room was really clean with huge bathroom. The breakfast was great too with Full Irish Breakfast, cereals & yoghurts. The kitchen is also open so I was able to use the kitchen out of hours. The fridge works on a Honesty Policy which is really good if you arrive late & want some tea & toast like i did. I would definitely stay here again and my little dog Misty loved it all too!
We had a fabulous time in this B&B! The house is beautiful - the living room and the breakfast room are situated upstairs so that visitors can enjoy the breathtaking view! Our bedroom was cosy and the bed very comfortable. There's excellent wifi in the house. We were really grateful for not being confined to our room and being encouraged to spend time in the living room in the evening. And let's not forget the delicious Irish breakfast! We will definitely visit again if we go to Achill!
Huge bathroom Friendly staff Big individually cooked breakfast Good wifi Warm
Accommodation was lovely. Hospitable hosts. Nice breakfast.
Guests need to be informed that tea making facilities are available as not mentioned in house brochure.
Very quite and relaxing stay. Homely feel and staff were helpful and accommodating. Beautiful location too.
Bernie and her family were really helpful, friendly and accommodating to us during our stay in Achill Lodge. They advised us where to go,how to get around and seemed really interested on helping us enjoy our stay. They had a full house each morning for breakfast but were still very attentive and cooked up a storm! The fry really set us up for the day, and the Boss Man is quite the garcon!! Really friendly and relaxed atmosphere throughout the house.
Our room was on the same floor as the dining room, so it got a little noisy in the mornings! I am a light sleeper, though, and the rattling didn't seem to annoy my sleeping buddy.
THE PEACE AND QUIET
Loved it all will definitely go back. Beautiful high quality B and B with friendly owners and excellent facilities. Nothing was a problem. Beautiful breakfast. Access to kitchen facilities during the day with lounge so you can just sit and enjoy the views while sipping a good old cup of Irish Tea.
Everything was perfect
We stayed in the suite, very funky and comfortable, everyone very friendly, couldn't fault it.
This is a beautiful house and has all the comforts of a 4 star hotel - except it is nicer and much friendlier. We loved the beautiful breakfast and the chat with the family. We will return again and we highly recommend it.
we were given very warm welcome by Aisling and were offered tea/coffee on arrival. our room was spotless and very comfortable. the en suite was very spacious and had a large bath too! there wasn't a sound during the night we had a great nights sleep. breakfast was excellent with plenty of everything, lovely views from the dining room & balcony.
The scenery location and friendliness of the staff.
Allowed to get a proper coffee /tea in kitchen. Honesty fridge. Great brekkie.
Staff pleasant, scenery lovely, room comfortable, breakfast very good
Breakfast vdry good
Rooms not very good
The Lodge is very modern, stylish and comfortable, yet it was the traditional values and hospitality of the family that made the lasting impression. My friend and I stayed there the night before running the Achill marathon and even though we checked out the next morning, we were welcome to return after the marathon for a much-needed shower-very accomodating! Outstanding.
Breakfast very good ,plenty of everthing.Family very nice, friendly, trying to make everything fine. Big bathroom very wide and comfortable. Tea and coffee offered when you arrived. You can hire a bicycle at the B and B
The bedroom's carpet which was stained . There was no living room ,no lounge,no place except the bedroom. It was far from the center and the restaurants, impossible without a car.
The staff were so helpful and very attentive to all our needs. Lovely, friendly atmosphere
Decor The whole feel of the place
cleaned and new
- wi-fi..had to wait to meet someone from staff to get the pw, instead to find it in the book on the room as usual - no materass for my baby in the cot, they give me a cushion deck - no kettle in the room - the most expensive lodge in one week time
easy to find, view over bay, warm rooms, quiet nights, big and modern ensuite, tasty breakfast with many choices (cereals, yoghurt, fruit, cereal bars, full irish breakfast, continental, ...), friendly and helpful staff!
The breakfast was excellent .. The host and his wife were very very attentive
There was not anything we did not like
First glance from the outside was beautiful. Lovely foreign girl present on our arrival and made us tea. Room nicely decorated as well as bathroom. Owners were really lovely and cooked a fantastic breakfast with great variety.
Bed was a little low to ground. Damp and spores present around window in bed room. No tea or coffee facilities in the bedroom.
Really enjoyed the warm welcome& it was an ideal location to tour the area. Spacious room, left undisturbed, amazing views. Breakfast was good selection, nothing too much trouble. Our hosts recommended plenty of local places for lunch& dinners. Wifi was a plus with our tween traveller. We were lucky to have found such a great place to stay. When leaving the owners came out to car& gave our son some money to get treats in shop for our journey home. A must stay guest house for anyone visiting Achill
The peace and quiet of Bunacurry. Beautiful setting but an easy drive for beaches, restaurants, pubs etc. Spacious room and wonderful breakfasts. Warm welcome from friendly hosts.
Given the price (even in August), it was very disappointing not to find tea/coffee making facilities in the room. This is a standard B&B provision and always very welcome when people are out and about all day. Can't see what the profit margin is on not providing this. Ironically, we had our own tea/coffee etc. All we needed was hot water ... The room, though comfy and cosy, was a bit warm overnight. But the breakfast room was very warm indeed - it would have been nice to leave a small window open to let some air circulate.
