Need tea and coffee making facilities in room and a hair dryer would be handy
Single glazed windows and slightly noisy
This is essentially a hostel dressed up as a hotel. Tiny rooms-no room to swing a cat, dirty sink in shared bathroom, noisy- paper thin walls and trains, rooms too hot-poor ventilation, bed too small, very inconvenient way of parking/handing in keys when going out, rude night staff- very inhospitable and didn't want to be there. No facilities in room, you have to ask for tea/coffee but theres nowhere to even leave your cup- no furniture in room not even a desk, no hairdryer, no clothes press. You have to ask for them which basically means this place is a hostel.
Our room was at the front of the building facing onto a very busy, noisy street so sadly a decent nights sleep eluded us. One staff member didn't even say 'hello' let alone speak once when we collected our room key on our return which I found very, very poor. Also, parking not on site - it would've helped if parking instructions had been issued prior to arrival.
Our double room with private bathroom was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was modest (half a piece of black and white pudding each) but very tasty! One staff member was very helpful and printed some documents for me that I'd forgotten to bring for our trip.
Wish it had an earlier breakfast.
We stayed in a triple room that could have easily fit 4. Great breakfast
It took a long time for the hot water to flow in shower. Had to wait up to 5 minutes.
The room was small and the room was just in front of the stair, and you could hear all hotels guest. Can by noisy, good for me that I had quiet guests.
Room too small, not enough space for luggage or cloth( just one tiny shelf. The heating was always on and it was just too hot.
The room was clean and it was quiet. The location is really good! Close to everything
My room did not have "light" curtains. So either it was no curtains or thick curtains (no sunshine through the room). I liked the fact that the room was light, because of the big windows in the room, but for the privacy during the day light curtains is also recommended.
Friendly staff. The bed was also comfortable to sleep in. Also a good shower. The location is very good for a city trip.
Bed was uncomfortable
Staff was accommodating
Noisy guests running up and down corridor all night
Very friendly and helpful staff. Carried my heavy suitcase up a few flights of stairs to my room for me. Excellent Irish breakfast.
The whole key system / security needs tightening up on . Leaving your key at a some times unattended area would be a cause of concern . This is not a criticism more a constructive comment.
Great location , very central to most of City centre. Spotless bathrooms . Decent breakfast .
Adelphi Guesthouse was clean, comfortable and a secure place to stay. It's conveniently located just a 10 minute walk from Dublin's city centre so was perfect for our weekend away.
Staff and communication!
It was kind of an issue finding it, but it's right behind Custom Quay. For the price I paid, it was a lot better than I expected. And it's basically a bridge crossing to the heart of Dublin, so that's pretty awesome. I definitely recommend it.
The room was very basic, no kettle, cleanliness of the shower was poor, ceiling paint peeling off, shelves coming away from the wall. Staff were as above could be a bit more welcoming. But overall not bad money for the location.
The breakfast staff were lovely, nice breakfast. The location was perfect for our trip, the staff on arrival were informative and helped with any queries we had.
Bed was uncomfortable, guests were noisy, plumbing was loud. We had a family room when we booked a double, which didn't appear to be cleaned throughout our stay. Beds were made and towels were replenished only. Decor is tired and our bed was broken, don't be fooled by the images, the reception/office looks like a dumping ground. Breakfast was poor with a continental being just cereal and white toast. Shower door was broken, dress pillow was stained. Train track was right outside the window which added to the noise. We were tired during most of our stay due to a disturbed sleep and discomfort. No tea and coffee in rooms and not even a cup for water. Would certainly not recommend. Staff weren't particularly friendly and we ended up paying more than expected with no invoice presented. I didn't query this for want of getting out of there ASAP, and due to the unapproachable and barely spoken staff. Worth paying more for somewhere on the south side and somewhere that can get the basic right.
Free Wifi was a god send a we only had one channel on the TV, location is good if you're looking to stay close to o'connell street.
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, too much noise from outside as room was facing the main road, toilet was not flashing then got blocked completely.. The receptionist changed my room too the 3rd floor again too many stairs to go up from as no lifts and room again was given near the train station could hear noises from trains going past, and same problem with toilet again. Could hear people going in and out from their rooms..
staff was very polite and breakfast was good apart from the egg too soft, beds were very comfy and shower was brilliant loved the shower :) the rooms were nice and clean.. :)
There was nothing I didn't like.
Good location. Very clean. Nothing to much trouble. Tasty breakfast.
Noisy. Could hear clearly the conversation of the neighbouring room, and they weren't shouting.
Good price for the location and room was nice, comfortable and clean. Staff friendly.
The website had a few negative reviews. But we found everything was absolutely fine.
If I was to complain about anything and Im only looking for this is that there was a couple arguing two or three streets down and they woke me up.
It was a clean Hotel with lovely people also the breakfast was lovely the bed was comfy and the shower was lovely and powerful
The room could do with a bit of tlc the walls had holes in from where a head board had been but no longer there. Could have done with a lick of paint.
Liked the contemporary design in the bedroom. Liked that it was an old town house conversion. Nice high ceilings but liked the mix of old and new. The breakfast was really good.
Cities are noisy, and a central location and front of house room bring that home
The hotel is central with all that brings, the facilities are functional and clean, staff were very friendly and helpful
