This was a pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Pet friendly. There is a decent restaurant as well as very good bar food available.
There was a slightly tired look about the place and the breakfast was basic.
location staff friendly food very good
clothing in room .bottletop on floor by bed
Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Free entertainment [Live band]
Stayed 3 nights - Towels not replenished. Lodges need decorating, new carpets & bringing upto date. No WiFi in lodges or even a phone signal!
The appalling food and poor standard of staff training.
We were a family travelling with one small child. Facilities in the lodges was excellent. Very clean, modern and the view was breathtaking.
Food in the main hotel is not a good standard and very little of it.
beds were very comfortable. Location perfect for walking and all outdoor activities
staff uncordinated, unattentive management seemed to be more interested in socialising with customers than co ordinating waiters general untidyness of reception rooms. no lift for people with a physical dissability and no bedrooms on ground floor to facilitate same
Good Breakfast/good room
One guest I observed had a disability and had great difficulty getting up stairs (took 10 minutes to get up one flight of stairs). In an emergency, this person would not have been able to get out.It is not acceptable not to have either a lift or stairs-lift in a hotel that has only rooms on the first or second floor
Brilliant location with beautiful views and excellent value for money. Very clean with helpful staff. Had a friendly, relaxed atmosphere
Lodges were a little worn looking and mattresses weren't that great
Staff at reception were rude and abrasive Difficult to get to
Good location for walks Nice view of Galtee mountains Nice big, clean bathroom Sheets & towels fresh and clean
The Hotel could do with being re-decorated. Service - On day of arrival ordered sandwich & tea but didn't get the tea at all. At dinner that evening got main course & veg but the waitress didn't bring the potatoes - after approx 10 minutes we asked and about 10 minutes later again she brought a bowel of mashed potatoes and then a minute later came back and said "I will that those and bring them back again" - don't know why and she brought them back after a few minutes but at that stage we had finished our dinner. For desert waitress didn't know what was available and went in to the kitchen a few times to ask, it was the same with ordering wine. At breakfast the next morning we waited 30 minutes to get served after placing our order. Apart from the terrible service the food on all occasions was well presented and very nice. Perhaps they were short staffed or the staff were new but the service still should have been much better. On departure we complained and the receptionist contacted the Manager who told her to give us a reduction.
The view, The bbq, The live music, The bedroom, with iron, etc, unexpected with the extras. The price was resonable for time of year. The nature park on the doorstep. The lovely fireplaces, and decor of dinning room was good.
The bathroom , shower curtain which sticks to you. Having to run shower for 5 mins for hot water. handle of toilet not working properly, bath side needs repair, sink needs replacing. no extractor fan. Breakfast so disapointing, no spoons on buffet table, no glasses, no marmalade, no soda bread, choice v poor, no background music, last morning no staff to serve, had to leave table and request service after 10 mins. Not asked if everything was alright on cheak out. Such a shame if this hotel would put in bit effort they could get it right and make a 4 star without too much expense, they have so much, wish they would put in effort.
road to location
Location of hotel
Food menu limited. Portions huge (for me that is a turn off)
Location was excellent, lodge was clean
Bit upkeep needed in lodge such as painting, decking cleaned. Toaster was broken. Was couple houses with rowdy fellas in them attending wedding. They stole some of kids stuff and tried get into our house. Suppose it's limited how can help this when guests at wedding and not in main hotel
The staff were friendly and helpful. The views of the Glen were breath taking.
Lovely location and friendly staff. Table linen and bedlinen spotless and fresh.
This could be a stunning hotel, but needs a bit of TLC, particularly in the loung bar, where many of the chairs were stained and in need of a clean. A shabby chique look is fine, but some areas looked a bit neglected. Grubby walls in need of a clean, cracked sink in bedroom and furniture in need of upgrading. We stayed in 6 other hotels in Ireland and they were all spotless, so felt disappointed.
Peaceful setting, beautiful views, clean and friendly staff.
There appeared to a staff shortage. Bed had one sheet and duvet, would have liked top and bottom sheet.
Lovely lodge with big rooms and very comfortable beds. We all slept well.
Travelling with dogs abd although accepted in the lodge thought the €12 charge per night a bit steep.
Hotel old little cramped
Very little phone reception
very relaxing will be back again ...
Location and warmth and friendliness of staff.
Building interior shabby. Food good first day bad second day. Service extremely slow and disorganized.
View of Mountains
People can see into he bathroom from the outside. Lack of dark curtains enabling privacy.
