Very good,
Score from 635 reviews
In the heart of the Georgian city of Dublin, this 3-star guesthouse features traditional dècor and furnishings. It was built in the 18th century, and was once part of the Earl of Clonmel’s estate. Near St Stephen’s Green, Albany House is a fully non-smoking and privately owned residence. It's just a 5-minute walk from Dublin's main shopping street, Grafton Street, or the main entertainment district of Temple Bar. Each room has a private bathroom, cable TV and facilities for making tea and coffee. There is a 24-hour front desk, and free Wi-Fi is available in public areas of the building. Breakfast is served each morning and there is a wide variety of bars and restaurants within a short walk. Guests can choose from a selection of continental options, served in the Albany's breakfast room. Unfortunately, the guesthouse does not have an elevator. Albany house was well located for city centre shopping etc. Room was good value with a nice breakfast included in a competitive price. The staff were friendly and helpfull. Having no parking facilities for guests was not ideal however parking was available within 5/10 minutes walk

All Dublin has to offer is on walking distance. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is healthy and tasteful. WiFi is available in the lobby and on lower floors, because the thick walls (ideally for sound insulation) the upper floors at present don't have WiFi but work on that has been started already. Sitting in the lobby all together with our smartphones or ipads was a nice experience also!

Friendly staff, excellent location, generous breakfast, great value for the money! The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Our room at the back was very quiet. The location is excellent - just a 5 minute walk to St. Stephen's Green, Grafton Street and many other points of interest. The tram runs by the front door. There is a really interesting restaurant in the side alley directly across the street. We liked the old fashioned ambiance, new hotels have no soul by comparison. Other people on our trip stayed down the street at a luxury hotel - they paid over four times as much $ and didn't even get breakfast! We made the correct choice by staying at the Albany! There was not anything not to like. Lack of an elevator could be a problem for the physically challenged. Staff were very helpful in moving our luggage. My only suggestion would be to put identification tags on the many delicious breakfast cheese selections so we would know what we were enjoying!

It was a very comfortable, friendly, quiet room in a handy location. I had just come off a plane and found Albany House to be a perfect choice for somewhere to stay to recuperate from the long flight. The location was handy to the Temple Bar area and in all found the stay a very pleasant one. I would definitely recommend Albany House to friends, and would stay there again myself.

Great location. I asked for a room in the back, as I heard that noise from the street could be a problem. I had a room on the top floor in the back, and it was quiet. The room was clean, the bathroom looked newly renovated. The breakfast was continental, with fresh fruits and a selection of Irish cheeses, Bodum coffee. Overall, it was definitely good value. Some might find it hard to make it up to the top floor, especially with luggages, since there is no elevator. There is Wi-Fi in the hotel, but only at the reception and the breakfast room area. So forget Skype conversations. The beds need new mattresses, I coped by removing the blanket from one bed (my room had two twin beds and I travelled alone) and using it as a mattress pad on the other.

Stayed there twice in the one overseas trip .... Both times lovely . Had to leave at 4.30 am the last time to get to the airport, and was handed a bag of fruit for breakfast as I left ..... The nice touches that make it special My room was number 11 , and it was lovely, but at 65 and carrying a large case it was a bit difficult to get up and down the stairs. also, wifi is not accessible downstairs, and I needed to go up to reception to use wifi

Convenient, friendly, well appointed accommodation near to City centre and in a generally quiet location. Front rooms can be a little noisy from trams and party goers.

The location of the Albany House and the helpfulness of the staff was really excellent to tour Dublin City. We liked the size of the room and the morning breakfast. The Albany house did not have a lift and we were not aware that we would have to climb so many stairs to get to our upper floor room. the staff was helpful in reassigning our room to a lower floor - as senior travelers with luggage it was very important to have a room on a lower floor.

Great location, 10 mins to centre of Dublin town and Castle. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Tram directly outside but was not a noisy hotel. Breakfast was lovely, cheeses, breads, croissants, toast, jams and marmalade, usual cereals and fruit, tea, coffee and juices, have as much as you like. Complete mixture of ages here, young couples, families with young children and elderley. Great value. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in.

“The Hotel is very conveniently located, in a safe and very good area, central, with lots of public transportation optinons (bus, train, cab). The price was very affordable considering the hotel itself and the provided services. The breakfest was huge, delicious and always in time. The hotel staff was extremly friendly and helpfull (all shifts). The room very clean, spacious enough, warm and 24/7 hot water. The hotel, room and lounge design is very beautifull and warm, gives the impression of a luxury mansion and the comfort of your home. last but not least, the hotel, rooms, lounge, washrooms are very, very clean. I will definately recommend it to all types of travellers. I will go back if I will travel to Dublin again.” Dan, Brussels |
