The hotel was in a great location and the staff were excellent. Each of the staff members we came in contact with were friendly and obliging. Breakfast was decent and the young lady on duty was incredibly charming. The rooms are clean, although they're pretty basic but the beds are comfortable and the bathroom was well maintained. All in all it's a pleasant hotel, nothing special but certainly not terrible.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the location is great
It was impossible to sleep; the window was broken, it wouldn't close, so the noise from the very loud heating boiler or whatever it was outside, was constant. This coupled with the stifling heat which couldn't be turned off, kept me awake for most of the night. The staff were really nice but didn't even allude to the fact that I was struggling with crutches and our room was on the 2nd floor, nor did they ask how our stay was on checking-out.
Excellent location right off Clifden's main square. Friendly and helpful staff. The furnishings aren't new and somewhat worn, but the room and bed were comfortable. Very affordable.
It was noisy. The location on the square means hearing the pub goers and other late night activity. The room also was not soundproof. You can hear every conversation in the hall, every toilet flush, every clanging hanger. Even the otherwise lovely lobby has a regular incessant beep (that the clerk could not address). I would stay here again though, but would simply request a quieter room on the backside of the hotel.
Excellent location in Clifden to attend events.Hotel comfortable . Staff courteous and generally helpful.Breakfast ample.
Rooms clean, but beds very hard.Bathrooms clean but in need of facelift .
Whilst most of the staff were courteous there was one or two whose manner were very unfriendly
Excellent location comfortable and friendly hotel staff very helpful, especially the young lady serving breakfast, clean rooms comfy beds excellent value for money, will be back next year
apart from the generator outside my bedroom window that made a humming noise all night I really enjoyed my stay here. the food was plentiful and well prepared, the rooms were clean and both ladies at the reception were really great. the hotel is in a great situation very close to the islands and beaches and loads of walking opportunities.
the only thing I did not like was the situation of a generator outside my window. This hummed all night and as the weather was so warm I could not close the window to block it out.
Bed was comfortable , poeple there are great
Just the twos days I was there no hot water but it was a default on a switch which they couldn't prevent so other then that it was good but expensive
Our trip around Ireland was great. Our stay at this Hotel was the best. Nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant every evening really good food.It is run by a lovely family. Who along with their staff couldn't do enough for us advising best places to go etc.We wish them every success.
Having to leave..
We were told there was no hot water, AFTER we had paid cash on arrival. No parking roadworks all over
The hotel is well situated
There is no secure parking at the hotel. The impression given by their ad was that there was some parking. But you take pot luck on the street. That's not good enough
The location was excellent and the proprietor was very friendly. breakfast was good too.
It was close to beautiful natural locations
It looks like a hotel you see in the 1960's movies.
This is a good value hotel for the price. The location is excellent, although to be honest the city of Clifden is so small that most accomodations are within a block of the central square. The friendly and helpful staff helped us with dinner options even though the hotel also has a restaurant. The breakfast was good too.
The view from our room on the first floor was blocked by another part of the hotel, and the breakfast staff was ridiculously slow. The bathroom door did not lock. Minor points overall though.
location was the main good point
rooms are dull furniture, curtains and carpets are like something from the 1950s bathroom very small and a bit grubby
Although from the outside the hotel doesn't look too inviting, once inside it is transformed into a very nice place to stay. We ate in the dining room and enjoyed the musical duo.
The staff were particularly friendly, helpful and informative...we did not have transport and received suggestions regarding site seeing. Perfect and central location. Very good value for money. I personally think they could invest in a little 7-12 seater mini bus to include small private tours, this would attract more custom.
The lock on the bathroom door was broken
Stayed here one night and was quite happy. Nice room and bathroom. Pleasant staff and great location right in the middle of town.
Price of food. Poor wifi
Very comfortable . Lovely breakfast served up to us ,so it was freshly cooked and not sitting like in a buffet . Friendly staff.
Some very loud people from county Clare staying on our second night. Middle aged men . Must not get out too often . Loud loud loud
LOCATION....right in the centre of all the action...interesting shops and fun pubs...picturesque walk to pier.. STAFF...friendliness of staff hard to beat...so kind and nice. BEDS....beds and pillows were very comfortable..
Nothing really...was there for pony show...would have liked a longer stay..
The location of the hotel in the town is very good, the bathrooms were very clean and useable. A nice foyer to relax and read a paper or plan your day.The food was very tasty and the staff were friendly and willing to help.
The price for what you get is far too much. The rooms and hallways are in need of modernisation. The hotel is stuck between modern chic and ye olde type without hitting the target on either.
Great location, clean
Some staff members were unfriendly.
All staff that I met were efficient and good. What made the greatest i impression on me was the friendliness of all staff that I encountered. You also serve a great breakfast. regards John Meskell
Very relaxing, rooms clean & spacious, service excellent throughout our stay
No lift but not a major problem and porterage was offered
