This modern, family home is located on Roscommon Road (N61), just 10 minutes’ drive from Athlone town centre and 2 minutes from Athlone Golf Club and Hodson Bay. It offers cosily furnished rooms with garden views, hearty full Irish breakfasts, and a games room with a full-size pool table. spacious rooms with good beds, excellent hosts, tasty breakfast. We would stay there again if we get the chance Wifi did just barely work in the room (no 5). But the B&B has an excellent 'living room' for guest where I could do all my internet stuff.

I felt like I was at home. The home was comfortable, and beautiful, clean and spacious. The host was friendly and helpful.

Bedroom and bathroom very clean, beds comfortable, breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Games room for children great idea. Owner Niamh very welcoming and attentive.Would definitely recommend Alverna House, excellent B&B There was nothing to dislike about Alverna House B&B

I stayed in Alverna House with my husband and mum as I was at a wedding in The Hudson Bay. The owner allowed us to leave our car there and drove us to the hotel. Very friendly clean and great location and I would highly recommend it. Trish

We bin there only for one night, but the host is great, both give you a warm welcome and a lot of tips what you can do. Its very clean, and for us thats the most important thing. Nothing, everything is OK.

The accomodations are new, the decoration is lovely, the bathroom is first class. The bed, the room and the whole house is warm and inviting. Breakfast was excellent. If you are passing by Athlone don't miss the place It's on the n61, the gps didn't recognize the location. We had to ask intsruction to get there.

Naimh was wonderful! Very accommodating. Room was spotless. Bathroom was modern and a beautiful black and white tile. Our room was tastefully decorated. All the rooms felt very homey. Breakfast incl a continental breakfast buffet, then cooked us a trad Irish breakfast! Our hostess was warm and friendly. Nothing!

The house was beautiful, rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. They had a games room with a pool table, big TV and Wii which my teenager loved and a play room which my 6 yr old liked. Breakfast was super and Niamh and Ronan were very welcoming. I will definitely be back Nothing

Niamh and Ronan were very friendly and went above and beyond the call of duty. We used our towels and wanted to re-use them. Niamh left notes to tell us who used which towel. She was so kind. They recommended many different types of eatery and suggested pre-booking. We had 2 beautiful meals out in Athlone. The sat nav co-ordinates were spot-on. There was nothing to dislike about Alverna House.

The lady Niamh was lovely and very obliging and helpful. Rooms were good and cosy on the cold winters night we stayed there! Breakfast was top class!!!! :-)

I stayed for 4 nights and can not thank Alverna House for such a fantastic and comfortable stay.I was made to feel very very welcome and their service was out of this world. I would most definately stay at Alverna house again if I was in the area. Superb. nothing

Alverna House is one of the best B&Bs I have stayed. It was spotless, bright, comfortable and cosy. A lot of thought has gone into the planning and detail of this family home, which we as customers benefitted too. A lovely place to stay. Thanks Niamh for your hard work in housekeeping - it really is worth it.
