large bed and reasonably comfortable (bed was quite firm). stayed before in hotel but will book a front facing room for all future stays.
noises from heating system and a low hum could be heard in room throughout the night. we didn't sleep well as a result.
The people, surroundings, room and food are exceptional. It is now my regular base when I'm working in the Cork area. The food is exellent and the gym is well equipped.
The bedroom style and comfort
I got the impression from the hotel details there was a pool and was disappointed to discover there wasn't
Staff were very attentive at all times, and more than helpful when needed.Food in restaurant was excellent. Will stay here again the next time i am in Cork.
Warm welcome from Aleksandra on reception. Very clean, quite and comfortable room
Room Service, Views from the balcony of your room, Friendly Staff, an overall pleasant stay and the food.
No newspapers to read and no sky channels
Value for Money. Well maintained and clean.
Walls are very thin so can hear people talking late at night. Went back late as we were attending a removal mass and visiting cousins. Was 9.55pm and asked for dinner, only to be told they were no longer serving. We were both really hungry after a long day and the service time on the menu (noticed the next morning on the room info) said it was 10pm. Others were being served food. Very unprofessional and uncaring. I ordered a sandwich as they said thats all they could do for us. They need to abide by their own timings.
It was very centre of the town perfect for the areas me and my girlfriend were going to visit on our trip to cork, the shower was amazing big shower head, the bed was very comfy and the TV was pretty great , overall very good and very pleased
Just a bit dusty , easpecially above wardrobe and I forgot somthing in the room , rang in 3 hours before I went back to collect it and it wasn't at desk, but since I got there didn't take long to get it
They did try to make up for the horrible nights sleep by cutting my tarrif - appropriate under the circumstances. Room was clean and large - not sure why I had a room with facilities for the disabled - certainly not required - I suspect it "matches" the other experiences of the night - last room? - lets shove her in there? - see dislike comments
This property has great views if you get a front room - I didn't - Stuck out the back right next to the antiquated lift shaft that was so noisy I woke at every use. Was told this was an upgrade - makes me wonder if I supposed to be sleeping in the porch with a sleeping bag! Had a wedding on - ended up calling to the desk at 1.30am to ask when the doosh doosh was going to stop (found out next day it was supposed to stop at 1am - still too late given the impact on other users of the hotel). Was told by the manager next morning that "I didn't think you could hear it in that room" - seems they don't bother trying their own product! They blew it - won't be back
The rooms were large - we had three beds in a regular room. Staff were great.
Very good price free parking, great wifi, big size mugs for tea in the room, quiet at night. The hotel is very good value. I would definitely stay there again
Was disappointed that there were no irish channels available on the tv which is really annoying cause I was looking forward to watching fair city and love/hate but I was informed that they had just changed providers and that they should have irish chanell s again in a few days
Peace and quitet
I booked the wrong date and the hotel could have kept the money but they allowed me to change the dates which they didn't have to. Very nice of them! Clean, gym facilities and nice view from many of the rooms. Definitely worth it.
The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Also the staff was extremely helpful.
Hotel Location in quiet area. Maitre D "Hazel" very helpful and friendly Receptionist "April" very helpful and friendly (In particular) Other staff also friendly and efficient Bar and Restaurant excellent Room large enough for our needs and in good overall order.
Lift needs a good service, not very reliable for a person with access needs. Although we did manage with it.
A beautiful hotel. It was our third time to stay this year and will be staying there again. And of course not forgetting to mention Don who just makes you feel so welcome!!
Nothing to dislike about this hotel
Great staff, very helpful and a good hotel for the price.
No Bad parts
Loved superior room with balcony offering fabulous views over city.
Unfortunately not enough common areas to sit and relax. Would have to go into bar/restaurant area to sit down. Disappointed with quality of food - skillet of cork caught fish was just embarrassing.
Staff Room Breakfast Gym
The location of my room (111) resulting in too many unnecessary noise distractions (taxis, deliveries, conversations outside main entrance) that I did not sleep and was exhausted at business meeting next day - - V V dissapointing
Close to city centre views were excellent
The view was wonderful, the bed very comfortable, and the dining was very nice.
It was up a steep hillside which for the older traveler was probably too much hill climbing.
Tough to find!!
Stayed here for two days with.our 2 year old, rooms were a good size 2 double bed & a single bed. Pillows were very uncomfortable. Hotel is a fair walk from the city alot of up hill so expect a good walk back up. Had lunch one day in the hotel was average enough, nothing spectacular. Seems like a hotel for business people not alot of families. Was just a nice pleasant stay.
Location,staff,old styling of the hotel,views
Room was enormous with floor to ceiling views of cork from the bed.Own balcony. Surroundings in hotel and restaurant were stylish and had an air of grandeur. The bathroom was modern and stylish. Plenty of power outlets for recharging devices.
The shower head was poor with a hard stream of water like a tap rather than a true spray (water-saver shower head may be a good idea with the tax coming on).
