Amber Bay B&B  

The owner was nice and friendly, the room was clean and bright and it was beautiful. Absolutely value for money and we will definitely stay again if we go up to Galway!

The courtesy and helpfulness of Michael, the host, was outstanding . He is most obliging . Breakfast was very good .

The B & B is clean, immaculate and has beautiful decor. The hosts are friendly and obliging. Food quality, quantity and presentation left nothing to be desired. Convenient parking. Pleasant outlook. Would highly recommend this B & B to anybody.

The Amber Bay was surprisingly quiet considering for at least one night, I believe it was full. It was immaculately clean throughout. There was a great range of good quality herbal teas, fruit, and fresh bread to add to the cooked breakfast on offer. I would certainly use it again as a base for touring Connemara.

Our only problem was that the room we were initially allocated was too small for our comfort ~ however, when we finally approached Martin, he was extremely gracious and helpful and offered us a much bigger room. I would advise anyone booking to be specific about their needs at the outset.

This is the second time I've stayed at Amber Bay - it's clean and comfortable, with good facilities (internet etc) , it's in a convenient location (best to have a car for getting around this area) and at this time of year (January) the room rates are excellent. The welcome is as warm and friendly as you'd expect in the West of Ireland and, best of all, the breakfast is second to none (there's even a proper coffee machine!)

I received a very friendly welcome for Irene and her son. My bedroom was nice and comfortable, overlooking a fabulous view of a little cove. Irene was able to facilitate my dietary needs (a gluten free breakfast) - which was amazing. The coffee machine in the breakfast room was a nice touch. I was staying in a single room (which was still reasonably big), and the house itself had a spacious feel, to cater for couples/families etc. Would definitely recommend this B&B - and I've stayed in many B&Bs around Galway as I've been affiliated with the University for several years now.

The proprietor was extremely amicable and eager to ensure guests' comfort and satisfaction.

I found the room a bit cold, the heating system was on and at it's max capacity, although I found it to be a bit colder (and I'm always the last one complaining about cold) In terms of people staff, I was a bit disapointed (when I arrived and when I left). I don't want to be too specific here for obvious reasons..

Made to feel at home

Particularly enjoyed the breakfast, friendly welcome from Michael and his lovely wife, and the pleasant and relaxing time we shared at the b&B. Michael and his wife are clearly working very hard to make Amber Bay a success, and its evidently paying off.
