We found our stay at Amber b&b very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly. The accomadation was very clean and quiet.. Very close to salthill but would need a car for transport or take the bus. Am not a fan of hotels and the b&b was excellent. Lovely breakfast each morning we stayed.We will return.Lovely view from the b&b also.Thank you.

We had an excellent time at Amber Bay (September 2011) and would highly recommend it. From the moment we arrived, the guest house was warm and welcoming. Michael and Airina keep the guest house spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious and warm with plenty of hot water to shower etc. An excellent breakfast is between 8 and 10am and there is a choice. We found Michael and Airina very friendly and accommodating. As well as the well decorated bedrooms there is a large comfortable lounge with plasma tv and some dvd’S. Amber Bay looks out over the beautiful Galway Bay and a perfect base if touring. Galway city is just a few minutes away and it is right on the gateway to the wild and scenic Connemara. We would also suggest a tour to the cliffs of Moher and return along the coast through 'The Burren'. We had never been there before but it must be one of the most significant sights in the world. So - our first visit to Amber Bay (we had 2 rooms for 3 nights) and if visiting the Galway area again, would not waste time looking around at other guest houses or B&B’S. Just a tip if travelling from n Ireland. We travelled from Ballymena to Galway. From we got on the dual carriageway at Ballymena, we were on dual carriageway / motorway the whole way to Galway. We went via Dublin and the m50. There are 3 tolls which cost approx 8 euro in total. Well worth it to have motorway for 260 miles. The Magee family - Ballymena - n Ireland

This is the second time I've stayed at Amber Bay - it's clean and comfortable, with good facilities (internet etc) , it's in a convenient location (best to have a car for getting around this area) and at this time of year (January) the room rates are excellent. The welcome is as warm and friendly as you'd expect in the West of Ireland and, best of all, the breakfast is second to none (there's even a proper coffee machine!)

Welcoming staff, clean, very nice coffee. The location was perfect for my purposes but isn't close to Galway center. Just fyi!

I received a very friendly welcome for Irene and her son. My bedroom was nice and comfortable, overlooking a fabulous view of a little cove. Irene was able to facilitate my dietary needs (a gluten free breakfast) - which was amazing. The coffee machine in the breakfast room was a nice touch. I was staying in a single room (which was still reasonably big), and the house itself had a spacious feel, to cater for couples/families etc. Would definitely recommend this B&B - and I've stayed in many B&Bs around Galway as I've been affiliated with the University for several years now.

Nice location. Off-street parking. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast, made to order. Secure entry. A bit noisy as it was a busy weekend and we could hear people moving around upstairs. Limited coffee in the room and not replaced, but we didn't ask for more.

Nive location/view. Clean / tidy / cosy areas I found the room a bit cold, the heating system was on and at it's max capacity, although I found it to be a bit colder (and I'm always the last one complaining about cold) In terms of people staff, I was a bit disapointed (when I arrived and when I left). I don't want to be too specific here for obvious reasons..

Particularly enjoyed the breakfast, friendly welcome from Michael and his lovely wife, and the pleasant and relaxing time we shared at the b&B. Michael and his wife are clearly working very hard to make Amber Bay a success, and its evidently paying off.

My partner and I had a lovely stay again at Amber Bay I highly recommend a stay here. I will always book here when I go to Galway. Top class is this B&B and the owners are lovely and very helpfull I also must add that the breakfast is yummy.....

Michael was brilliant nothing too much trouble no menu on table for breakfast Water not in room but downstairs Room not quite as described But still a very pleasant stay. This is not a moan but just pointing out please see this as constructive criticsm.

Very welcoming and friendly. Lovely spacious bedroom, bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends. We enjoyed our stay.
