Score from 66 reviews Good
It was very cosy, clean and not too modern with friendly staff and a good breakfast. Very comfortable big beds, which was all the better since the Tipperary air knocked us out! The air conditioning was an added bonus.
The food in the bar was a bit hit-and-miss, and the lift definitely needs modernising.
Great stay, room comfortable and warm. Pool is beautiful and staff lovely, local and friendly. Evening meal great set menu available would recommend.
Breakfast could've been a bit fresher.
bright and airy comfortable clean friendly staff with a smile, excellent service Rooms were spacious and clean.
the fact it was a little bit out from main streets.
Friendly hotel personnel at front desk Lovely grounds and great amenities - sauna, hot tub, swimming pool. Lovely breakfast room and good food.
Not so friendly wait staff in restaurant.
Friendly-ish staff. Very clean hotel and comfy beds. Close location to Thurles town.
Shower head in our bathroom was broken drenching the whole room when turned on. The next morning at breakfast , my full Irish was cold. I asked the staff to simply warm it up but it was replaced by another cold breakfast which I failed to eat. Save a tenner and don't go for the breakfast.

Nothing, will definitely be staying again in the near future.
The lobby and bar area is beautifully decorated. Leisure facilities were nice to use after a days work.
The bedrooms and hall area need updating. They do not match the standard set downstairs in the reception/dining area. Reported a leaking tap twice during my stay and it wasn't fixed. Woken up by noisey guests coming in early in the morning. Breakfast was ok apart from the fruit salad being mushy.
The downstairs part of the hotel is fabulous and the corridors. When the hotel is fully renovated it will look amazing. There was a young bang playing in the residents bar, they were very good, got the crowd going!
Hotel staff were very rude, on departure we were not even askee how our stay was. Door man gave us an integration when we arrived back that night. Hugh gap in window of room. Bath very slippy I myself fell as a result of it.
All staff were warm, helpful and welcoming, food was excellent. We had a music session, that everyone joined, other residents and even the staff. Met one of the owners, who was truly interested in how we enjoyed our stay, nice to see the personal touch is not gone from some hotels.
The entrance to the Hotel is so inviting, smells lovely and clean the big chairs to park yourself on great. the staff were nothing but pleasant and friendly. The staff all seem to work together making the Hotel work in a way you feel like you are at home.
What can you not like about the Anner unless your character is one to find fault
Location and the bar
Room bit outdated and flickering
Joan was at reception when we arrived. Lovely lady. So nice and welcoming. The lady the next day not so much. Never even gave me a receipt. Fab hotel grounds seem lovely and the room was perfect.
staff bar music food
no room service
pool & restaurant
poor signage for pool location
The bed was extremely comfortable, I do not always sleep well away from home but I have to say I slept like baby, also the breakfast was first class
We were put in room 246 and the sink was tiny, there was no shelving in the bathroom and unfortunately the bathroom was a wet room and the water went everywhere
Communal areas very pleasant
Linen not changed although clearly needed to be
Leisure facilities, notable improvements in decor since my last visit
Poor enough welcome, long wait for breakfast " the same as the last time I stayed". No heat in room and poorly working t.v and faulty remote.
We loved the Gym and leisure centre . Breakfast was excellent . Had a meal in bistro . Food great , bit pricey
I didn't like having to wait for room, shortage of towels , and we pre booked online , thinking we were getting a good deal when in fact , people who rang up got a better deal and luckily I had a printout of my booking as we were asked for an extra €25 euro on arrival for our stay
The staff. The food was excellent (when our order was delivered - as in, I ordered Casear Salad, and I got a vinagraitte dressing, all over ! ) Am still waiting on toast with my breakfast ....
Rooms - given double when we had requested a twin - we're relations not in a relationship - electrical fault in our room for certain - unable to use the faulty hairdryer as the lights went off when drying hair. Replacement hairdryer had problem with flex, kept turning off, unable to look in mirror when doing hair ! Bedside lamp had to be changed - bulb kept popping out in original, when it wasn't turning on and off with the hairdryer - Water temp in shower - far too hot, control dial difficult to change - washed hair in sink instead. Toilet seat installed facing more sideways than normal. No working lock on inside of bedroom door.
We have stayed at the Anner before and will hopefully stay again, lovely to come back in the evenings to a friendly bar, the location is just great . Lovely place will recomend it to anyone.
We have no dislikes
Everything about the hotel was lovely rooms spotless staff very helpful friendly and pleasant I look forward to staying another weekend in the near future
Had a disabled access room, tiny sink, really low. Mirror on wall really low also. Wet room for bathroom so shower destroyed floor. Couldn't fit kettle in sink to fill it for cuppa.
Very powerfull shower and comfy bed. Clean towels put in room quickly.
No non slip mat in the bath meant that I slipped and fell pretty hard in the shower on our first morning. The light bulbs in our room were nearly all blown which meant at night we couldn't see very much. You could be waiting 5 minuted for the receptionist to even acknowledge you even though she was merely looking at a sheet of paper. No ice on breakfast buffet or even a menu for that matter. Bedroom was very tired, needed to be repainted badly and no sheet covering the bottom of the bed frame meant we could see how old and broken it was. Only two plugs in the entire room. Iron and ironing board very old and tired. Staff were not very friendly.
very nice swimming pool friendly staff
We were comfortable in every way. Was over for my dads funeral so a very sad time, but helped by the hospitality and kindness of some if the staff. Great bar and food!
No negatives really, other than bathroom, could do with an update....but believe you are in the process of doing refurb work!
