Staff always ready to help, clean room, comfortable bed, good location 20 minutes by bus to the centre - bus stop very close to the hotel, I definitely recommend.
We were met by a member of staff, such a welcoming and helpful girl. Really pleasant during our stay. Private parking was very important to us.
Both my husband and I didn't like our breakfast either morning. It wasn't an Irish fry by no means. Bacon was white, microwaved I would think and sausages spiced. Just not t our liking. Also when people used their water in another room it let out loud noise in our room.
From an unexpected late arrival we were tired and hungry. Mary had us settled in and dinner organised for us at a great irish pub, with clear directions and all. Breakfasts were a teenage boys delight for our two strapping lads and a perfect start to a day of touring. Plenty of info on what was available in Dublin was on hand or could be accessed by great wifi coverage. Accommodations were extremely comfortable and spacious. Every service went beyond our expectation. Thank you for what was a delightful introduction to Ireland and Irish hospitality. Joel would like Mary to know Ardagh House had the best pancakes in all of Ireland! And he tried a lot Mary! Sincere thanks from The Dempsey Family.
Excellent hospitality. Nearer to bus stops and other amenities. Clean and quite. Superb breakfast. Internet available in the room. Good and clean bath room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Really feel like being at home atmosphere. Surely will recommend other to stay.
No hairdryer. No mixer tab for hot water and cold water.
excellent breakfast, relaxing lounge with lovely garden view
Breakfast, bus service, staff.
No laundry No evening meal and only one restaurant within walking distance. Steep stairs.
the openness and willingness of the staff to help and answer any and all questions. room cleaned right away. Lovely breakfast.
instant coffee in the room - would have preferred real coffee (cafetiere). Easier access to the back gardens, especially on nice days.
Friendly helpful staff and outstanding breakfast and service.
I liked the historic nature of the building and the provision of parking. The location is good with some nice restaurants etc close by
Mary and William are two of the nicest people to deal with, all the staff could not do enough for you. There is always a welcome smile
there is nothing to dislike when staying here
The included breakfast was ample made to order, like you were at your aunt's house. The place was clean. It wasn't noisy. It was next to a bus line. Wifi worked acceptably in our room. We requested a garden view room and got it. The price was reasonable, and I'd stay again.
Know that this guesthouse of 19 some-odd rooms in not in the city center. This was not a problem for us as we had a Dublin Bus pass and regularly took the 10 minute ride into the center without much disappointment. If you want to be downtown don't stay here (but pay more). The decor was a bit staid. I wish there were more restaurants, cafes, or pubs close by, but alas you've got to walk about a 1/2 mile to Rathgar to find anything by foot.
One of the best B&B we stayed during our holiday in Ireland. Charming atmosphere, nice and confortable bedroom, wide choice for breakfast. Very helpful and friendly owners, Good location, with parking facilities just 15 minutes from the center of Dublin by bus. Strongly recommended.
The staff, decor, grounds, access to bus and groceries, breakfast and attention to requests. Just a thoroughly good experience.
Old fashioned bedroom and bathroom. Needs updating desperately Not a comfortable stay and expensive at 110 euros a night. More like a boarding house than hotel.
beautiful rooms, very kind staff, great breakfast, good value for money (in Dublin)
a little far from the city centre
An elegant, comfortable house in a convenient location with tranquil garden.
The duvet was rather heavy for summertime but the only alternative is to use only the sheet - a little chillly! This problem is not unique to this guesthouse, most hotels and B and Bs have the same situation - one option has to suit all summer and winter.
Myself and my wife had to make a short visit to Dublin and the Ardagh House was in an excellent location for our stay. As well as being in the right location for our stay it is in close proximity to bus and Luas services and walking distance to restaurants, pubs and shops. The staff were excellent and more than helpful and the off street parking was helpful also. There is an excellent feel to the Ardagh and it has that right at home feel you don't always get when travelling. We couldn't fault our stay, very relaxing and in a very pleasant area. The breakfast was spot on as well. It gets a ten out of ten from us.
Although the décor may be a little dated it has a fantastic feel and is in a spotless condition and the atmosphere and staff more than make up for the slightly out dated décor, after all we didn't come to buy just to stay the night and couldn't really fault it.
Easy to find, quiet residential area, good parking, warm welcome, clean bright rooms with high ceilings, large garden, great hot breakfast, good restaurants 5 mins walk, train station 10 mins walk.
All Dublin hotels are over -priced: this is better value than the others.
The staff were so pleasant and amenable and always willing to help. The food was cooked fresh to order with a good selection to choose from. Everywhere was clean and fresh towels provided daily. Location was great for access to all amenities including the city centre
The decor was ready for refreshing.
Welcoming host. Easy access to public transport. Excellent breakfast and clean, comfortable room
Location to St Lukes hospital
Breakfast was just average
A large traditional Victorian house with spacious rooms very clean, comfortable and a good feel. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent. We had a very enjoyable stay in a house with great character and a very impressive garden. Far better than the cold inpersonal modern hotels in the city centre.
