Driving in the drive to the hotel was beautiful and the first impression of the hotel was very impressive. Reception was big, airy and compfortabe. Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice. I loved the fact it had such a big bed, it was so comfortable. Your housekeeping staff must be very good as the room was spotless especially the bathroom because I am very particular about the cleaniness of a bathroom. Keys also easy to use. Overall a wonderful experience and I would love to stay there again and would definetly recommend it to friends. .The entrance would needed to be signed on the approach to the hotel as it comes up very fast on a corner and exiting is also difficult and dangerous. I was very disappointed with the tv. The remote was impossible to use. The tv is stuck in the corner of the wardrobe and can only be viewed from one side of the bed. If there is a couple in the room the second person would not be able to see it at all. I would have appreciated an iron and ironing board in the room rather than a press. A hair dryer is vital in every room and a hair straightener would be a bonus......

Check in was very quick. The grounds are beautiful. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a smoking room and we are non smokers. There was a very strong small of stale smoke. The window in the bathroom was not frosted. It had a net curtain in the window which was inside the shower, which was neither discreet nor hygienic. Not a good idea to shower at night as there is an apartment block within clear sight of the shower.

We stayed here as it is a dog friendly hotel. The room was amazing....it opened out into the garden giving our dog lots of freedom. We ate dinner in the bar. The food was delicious and for breakfast there was lots of choice. The pool area is great.....our toddler loved it. Free parking also a plus point! We would definatly stay here again! nothing was wrong with this hotel!

Found this hotel to be excellent, beautiful garden to rear, very clean and spacious. Not too far from city centre where the craic was great (about 20 mins walk). The dining room was well lay-ed out ,plenty of staff on hand to look after you also 1st class breakfast. We also had dinner at the hotel a five course selection with great choices beautifully presented and the tastes were something else. Having tried some of the restaurants in the city we found the food in the hotel was actually the best . When I return to Galway again this is definitely the hotel I will be choosing.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. It was our nephews wedding, everytwas very well catered for. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The breafast was superb with a great choise, we also had a meal in the bistro which was delightful. All in all a very memorable stay, I would love to come back again one day.

Friendly and helpful staff. Attention to detail. This Hotel is set in a tranquil quiet setting just off Taylors Hill Road. You would not think you are near the city at all. It has beautiful gardens where you can stroll or sit.

The staff were excellent. Very unhappy with our stay here. Have left very detailed critique of our stay with the hotel. We were here specifically for the 70.3 Ironman on Sunday. Had requested pasta dishes in advance however, the only past dish on offer was Tagliatelle which is creamy and I don't like it. On asking waitress to check with Chef (Hotel was very busy) to see if he/she could possibly rustle up another pasta dish, I was told no, was also told that the bar food didnt have anything different on menu, yet found on on the Monday, there was ravioli on menu in the bar - which I would have been happier to eat. Then Saturday nite for me was a nightmare - I had to be up at 5 am to eat b/fast prior to the event - there was a group in the hotel celebrating on the Saturday nite. First there was the thump thump of the disco music, we were on 2nd floor - so this was on Ground floor underneath us. Then members of that group were running around corridors on 2nd floor (our end Rm 202) .. screaming "Anyone for spare towels" .. at 2 am - at this point we did call reception, who told us there was no one there - ya, they were back outside below our room in the smoking area, talking, laughing etc The rooms are not soundproofed, so we also got to hear the lift constantly going all night long. So, no sleep for us on the Saturday night. Had requested porridge for b/fast next am, we got porridge in the form of microwave pots of it - I'm sorry, but this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel - this simply isn't good enough. The Salthill Hotel managed to provide properly cooked porridge for their guests and a variety of pasta dishes on the menu the night before. One of our group, on her own, had to be moved twice as the conditions of the rooms she was put in was just not acceptable. I'm certainly not objecting to the group who were celebrating, they are just as entitled to have their fun as I am to a good nights sleep. However, the Ironman 70.

We were given a large suite when we booked a double room on a 2 night break. Breakfast a bit of a production line due to large numbers, but good quality.

Nice old world feel, with modern touch where neccesary. Room was perfect, very deluxe feel. Still heard TV from next door, which was a shame. Not sure how if this is down to inadequate sound proofing during construction, or, as I fear, to have the rooms near sound proof would cost a fortune and these additional costs would, correctly, need to be passed on to the guest. Leisure facilities were excellent, Gym well stocked and pool very unique and relaxing. Great lounge / seating area's round front desk reception too. Plenty of comfy seats and well spreadout. Blazers Bar a bit all over the place floor plan wise, and prob not somewhere I'd be happy to spent the evening in. Again, wish we'd taken our drinks to the recep/louge area just outside. Food was excellent and priced well. Car parking was top notch, with amble outside and also underground. But the icing on the cake was the quick dial Taxi phone. I've an international passport with more stamps then James Bond, but I've never seem that before. So easy and so quick. A joy! Shame the taxi driver charged us €9.50 down to the town at 2pm. Was only €7 coming back up and that was at 9pm. Perhaps make guests aware of this and list approx fare rates for given locations??? Aside from that, I would, and already have, recommended the hotels to all and sundry. Had a lovely stay. Regards. Iain.
