The Ardilaun Hotel  

The staff were very helpful especially in the restaurant which made for a pleasant stay.

It is a very central and well-known hotel in Galway city with a great location for our sudden visit to Galway for a funeral of a relative. We booked late, obviously due to a funeral and we got 3 twin rooms without any hassle on the website which made things easy for us in the circumstances. I have attended a wedding there before, and I knew that it was a good hotel. Would highly recommend in Galway.

Friendly staff, lovely location, great leisure facilities.

Rooms were a bit dated, which was disappointing but would be easily updated

We liked the welcoming staff.The entertainment on Sunday 18th was excellent also.Our room was relaxing and comfortable.

I stay about 5 times a year & always love the ambience, food etc.

This time was fine but I do not like being over the function room@ the weekends!

I always stay here as the hotel is in a nice tranquil setting and close to the city

Some employee walked into our room when we were getting changed and saw us naked!!!

Nice old world feel, with modern touch where neccesary. Room was perfect, very deluxe feel. Still heard TV from next door, which was a shame. Not sure how if this is down to inadequate sound proofing during construction, or, as I fear, to have the rooms near sound proof would cost a fortune and these additional costs would, correctly, need to be passed on to the guest. Leisure facilities were excellent, Gym well stocked and pool very unique and relaxing. Great lounge / seating area's round front desk reception too. Plenty of comfy seats and well spreadout. Blazers Bar a bit all over the place floor plan wise, and prob not somewhere I'd be happy to spent the evening in. Again, wish we'd taken our drinks to the recep/louge area just outside. Food was excellent and priced well. Car parking was top notch, with amble outside and also underground. But the icing on the cake was the quick dial Taxi phone. I've an international passport with more stamps then James Bond, but I've never seem that before. So easy and so quick. A joy! Shame the taxi driver charged us €9.50 down to the town at 2pm. Was only €7 coming back up and that was at 9pm. Perhaps make guests aware of this and list approx fare rates for given locations??? Aside from that, I would, and already have, recommended the hotels to all and sundry. Had a lovely stay. Regards. Iain.

Great quality hotel, good facilities, great food at restaurant,spacious rooms and very clean.

No entertainment at evening times, pool area and changing rooms cold at times

Love the Hotel and the staff were excellent, services were very good plus the advolan beauty treatment, will return again 100%

The service in the bar for both food and drink was very poor. Staff had no manner to talk about. The best you would get would be a grunt. They were more interested in watching a match on the tv. The bar counter was covered in glasses and nobody bothered to clear them for over an hour. The tables were not cleared when they became available. I found myself having to clear the table for my family so we could put our drinks on it. I didn't so much as get a thankyou from the bar staff for doing it. Very disappointed overall. I have being staying in the Ardilaun on many occasions over the last 5 years. I would say 10-12 visits and this has being by far the worst visit to date. I heard there was a change of management recently so maybe that has not helped the situation. Where the Ardilaun excelled at the finer detail which set it apart has now become a regular everyday hotel. I will be back again in the summer to give it another chance so hopefully by then things will be sorted. If not then off I go to the Salthill Hotel-excellent in all areas.

A lovely hotel very nice staff and friendly. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Beautiful gardens and lovely views. Would stay there again, overall a very enjoyable stay.
