Arklow Bay Hotel  

Great hotel, nice staff at reception and comfortable bedrooms

i went for a relaxing weekend and the hotel was used for communion and conformation kids so alot of noise and there were young children drinking in reception on the sat night and the pool was used for swimmimg lessons for children so the pool was limited both i8 end my partner were sick after eating dinner in the restaurant and there was alot of noise coming from the room next to mine they kept use awake most of the night i went to relax and i came home very tired

The food in this hotel was absolutely delicious. It cudn't be faulted. Also the staff were very efficient and extremely helpful.

the view from the room was lovely and I cant fault the staff except the bar girl did not know how to make a vodka sour!!!!

I thought it was expensive too eat in the hotel and to drink too also the no entertainment in the hotel on a friday night is mad

The location of the hotel is breathtaking!,if standards improve I would most definite visit again.

The rooms were very old fashioned,hair dryers wre as old as the hills,the restaurant was extremely expensive,food was over salted and Luke warm.

The pool was great, a walk outside the door along the sea was nice.

It is a large, relatively comfortable hotel by the coast, one of very few in Arklow. Good value for money.

The rooms and the lobby are a bit run down, it seems that the hotel has seen better times in the past... The reception personnel was not very friendly. We have not eaten there, so no opinion on the food.

Nice clean room and the pool was lovely

My steak was very tough but my husbands dinner was lovely.bar staff very slow to serve, thy seem to forget about people at the end of the bar and snug n concentrate more on customers that are standing directly at the taps.

The Staff were very pleasant. Food was delicious. Comfortable seating in the Bar/Restaurant and great customer service.

Room was small and at the back of the hotel. Terrible view from the bedroom window....a set of concrete steps! We were disappointed not to have a view of the bay as the name Arklow Bay Hotel suggests.

The food in the restaurant was really very good - way beyond our expectations. We ate there both nights given the great quality and quantity. Breakfast too was as good as it gets. The maitre-d was lovely.

It was busy and noisy and with kids we felt comfortable. The bar was lovely and modern and the food in the bar was tasty.We also loved the swimming pool.

We were giving a family room in the old part of the hotel, I was really un-happy with this as I wanted a modern room, we moved to a very small room for the four of us. A modern family room would be nice, just because you have children does not mean you are willing to give up comfort and modern/new.

Almost everything, except, I felt the room was small as I had my elderly mother and 13 yr old son with me. Also there was no room with a bath available. Other than that we had a wonderful time and will be returning this year.

Far too expensive, we paid 119 for our room which certainly wasnt worth it. Some of my friends got deals for 99 which included a meal, when I booked my room I wasnt offer any deals. Way too over priced this day & age for B & B.

Room was very very small

Food was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Check in time after 4pm which is late by most hotels standards. Despite this the room which were originally booked into wouldn't have been ready until 5pm so we were given another room at 4.30pm. Bedclothes smelled of cigarette smoke, not pleasant when you are a non-smoker and had requested a non-smoking room.

It was the second time to stay in the arklow bay, what I liked is the location the views very kid friendly and the food is very good.

What I didn't like is it was my second time to stay in the hotel and when I booked I did ask for a room with a view and what I got this time wasn't a view it was trees at the back of the hotel again,I stayed in August of last year and my room then was terrible I did think that it would be better this time, I think something should be done regarding a family room they are extremely small, the bathroom was extremely small I have 2 children a 11 year old and a 5 year old and I expected more room, I have stayed in numerous hotels in Ireland and I think your hotel in room size has been the smallest I think the rooms really let's it down, I was really annoyed about the room and the view but decided not to say anything cause I did complain the last time and nothing was done for me, I am really disappointed because we saved up for our little holiday for Easter and just disappointed, the hotel isn't cheap to stay in.

Arklow Bay is very handy for my wife and I as my wifes sister lives just along the coast road,so we use the hotel when we go to see her.

The view from our window. Our wait staff at dinner was friendly. The fish was excellent but the vegetables were tasteless and almost raw--I like them crunchy but these were hardly cooked.

Was given a smoking room. Went right downstairs and asked for a non-smoking room and was able to get one. I think the staff/booking should ask about the customers preference. Did not find it a friendly atmosphere, more like a chain hotel in the US.

we stayed in room 223 an it was freezing everynight had to put extra duvet on the bed not very romantic

Hotel was cold for all off our stay rooms etc heating was not turned on

Terrible noise from bar until 2 am Noise from revellers until 6 am Im not saying it is the noisiest hotel in the world but I am sure it comes close!! The walls and ceiling creaked and banged day and night. Poltergeist?

Great hotel, and within a short drive of everywhere we needed to go. Room was big and clean.

Baby crying at 5 in the morning, water tank overhead used to bang for around 25mins early each morning.

SPA and fitnesscenter. Good pool and sauna.

Nois. Rooms are not well isolated. You can hear what your neighbours are doing.

I liked the location of the hotel the room and the lounge it was nice and big.

the noise in the room comming from the raditior it was hard to get a sleep with the noise.You shouldnt have to pay for swiming caps.
