Welcome chat with the Manager when booking in. Bar staff at night very friendly. Rooms in need of serious refurbishment. Bathrooms need updating, beds need updating (bedding was clean though). Paper thin walls, could actually here next room opening their drawers and their conversation with each other. This hotel if overpriced for what is on offer. City prices, but budget facilities.

Staying in a family run hotel in such a picturesque setting was the ideal family break. The hotel was very comfortable with quality food and service. Overall I rate it as very good (this category was not available in Q2 above!)

A really lovely hotel that is difficult to fault. A warm welcome and a warm hotel - we visited at the height of the spring big freeze 2013 - the open fire was just lovely. Bar meals way above average.

The staff were exceptional. There was bad snow where we are from that weekend so I rang up to check the weather in dunfanaghy and the girl in arnold's was so friendly and rang up the local attractions to check if they were still open and offered to change our booking date free of charge. We went in the end and I mentioned casually it was for my dad's birthday. They took it upon themselves to organise a surprise birthday cake for him at dinner which was a lovely personal touch. We were also upgraded in our rooms and the food was amazing. The place had excellent facilities, a lovely atmosphere and the staff made our weekend. The best stay at a hotel i've ever had.

good price, easy parking and access to rooms (thro back door), pleasant staff, good breakfast, although waitress was a little rushed, mind you we were told 11am finish for breakfast at reception and I think she thought it was 10.30am, but we were not hassled. Very good bathroom, shower was good pressure and plenty of hot water, which is always one of my priorities. room a little small, we had double, not a lot of space between bed and dressing table. Only slight drawback re bathroom, bath towels good size for a very thin super model, but not for normal sized people, would not want to be wearing one to answer door!!!

Very friendly, helpful reception. When we changed our minds about eating in the main dining room to the bar room at late notice it was no problem for the staff to re arrange this. The food and service were both excellent in the bar restaurant. Very kindly offered to make a complimentary birthday cake! Beds very clean and plenty of space in the family room. Bathroom shower had a grubby bathmat, grouting around the shower needed replacing and very poor water pressure in the shower. Breakfast staff could have been more attentive. Had to ask for more toast, more sauce and jam.

This is the second time we've stayed at Arnolds and it delivers on all that it promises on the website. What sets it apart or gives it an edge is the level of service, commitment to please and all round friendliness and approachability of the staff. Often they'd anticipate what you might be thinking and offer a suggestion, as though they were putting themselves in your shoes. Even when I rang on Monday to enquire if by any chance they'd found a glasses case in the room. Not only had they found it but they insisted on posting it to me. Regardless of the rating of the hotel the staff make it a 5 star experience. If I was being picky I'd say that it would be nice if breakfast was served for a little later than 10 am. Other than that the only thing we didn't like was leaving

Long-established (90 years) family-run hotel in a wonderful location. Attentive and friendly staff, god music session in the bar the night we were there. Not adequately maintained - room was not totally clean nor in very good repair. Needs a makeover. Too expensive for the quality.

The friendly atmophere and the very friendly staff, the food was plentiful and of a good standard. The Telivison reception was poor with no sound on a number of channels in my room.

THe fires in the lounge and in the foyer of hotel. Made it appear homly. Also liked the red comfortable chairs in the foyer and the way they are positioned at windows for great viewing. Liked the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Also the well cooked breakfasts. PLates were hot and fry was not greasy' Excellent. The pillows on the bed not comfy. . THe continental display of breakfast. Not much choice of fruit and only one flavour of yogurt which was not in a cooler and sat at room temperature.

Principal reason for our stay was to visit an elderly and infirm aunt living in the area. The hotel went out of their way to give us an excellent lunch and both Arnold brothers came and had a word with my aunt who they knew well. We left delighted with the hotel where we have stayed before and will stay again.
