Good location! It's just a short walk to all the shops and bars. The staff is helpful and kind. The rooms are comfortable. Overall, it was a great value for our money!
No shower pressure in dormer room
We were on foot so the proximity to town centre ,trains and busses was great. Very pleasant staff , good rooms and great breakfast
bit tired looking
Location, friendly staff good breakfast
The single room in the back without light to get there, not feeling very safe.
Breakfast was good
Shower door broken No stopper in the sink Bathroom fan dirty Bed sheets torn Toilet seat nearly broken Cobwebs in the corners of room
Good breakfast Friendly staff
Hot water tepid
Liked proximity to town, owner very friendly, value for money and very quiet.
Parking was very tight at the front & rear of the property. Chose to park on the road instead!
The stuff are nice and friendly. Near to the city 10 -15 min walk.
The room was dirty. The bed sheet was full with little black hairs, and patchy also the pillows had spots.very nasty. Also the towels doesnt seemed really clean. When somebody cleaned the rooms better i think it could be a good stay. Can't understand why they don't clean better, after all the bad reviews about the cleanness in this bed and breakfast.
The full Irish breakfast was good and the staff were willing to accommodate requests. The location was within easy walking distance of the train and bus stations, and the city center. The owner helped with ideas for day tours. The room seemed reasonably clean and refreshed with shower towels daily. Complimentary WiFi worked well.
We booked online and don't know if that raised the cost, but for £90 per night for the two of us with breakfast seemed to costly for the tired condition of the room and the amenities of the room and en suite bathroom. One morning, there was no hot water for the shower. The valve for the hot water had apparently been shut off but we didn't have time to get dressed, get the staff to respond, wait for the water to heat in time to catch our day tour. So we got a cold shower. Not fun. We advised on our way out the door and it was remedied by the time we returned later in the afternoon. I probably would look elsewhere if there is a next time in Galway.
I didn't like anything really
Other people's hair and body stains on the bed linen. Disliked being asked to show the person dealing with this complaint what I was talking about....and being given the same duvet cover the following day when the bed was changed!!! Filthy bathroom and furniture. No hot water for a shower The lack of welcome. Monosyllabic serving staff at breakfast and not being shown where breakfast was or what time it was served when checking in. No phone in the room to inform staff about lack of hot water. Shower door didn't close in any case. Thick layers of dust everywhere. The price was appalling for the facilities on offer. I would prefer to camp with the winos in Eyre Square than stay here again.
The location is convenient, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious.
Hot water went out repeatedly, so I had two days of startlingly cold showers. I kinda wished I'd stayed at private room in a hostel and just eaten nice breakfasts out - it would have been cheaper and just as nice.
Nothing wouldn't go there again.
It was smelly and dirty.
The owner is very friendly and approachable.
The room seemed like a college students room let out for the summer but not fixed up after multiple parties! Television had no remote n the controls on the box itself didn't work either so one channel, no volume control etc. holes in the exterior of the bath! One working lightbulb with many observe red to be broken off in sockets. Not enough hot water for a bath even though we enquired before running it and we're told there was plenty! Couldn't describe it as overly clean. We didn't eat breakfast although it was included and when paying were glad we didn't.
Gracious hosts Beautiful home
Location was good house looked lovely from outside but inside was drab and needed a face lift breakfast was very poor no fruit or alternative to the full Irish no water on the table. Room was small and cramped
Poor value for money we stayed I'n a hotel I'n Limerick for €85 that was far superior
This property is obviously used for Student accommodation for periods of the year. With reference to cleanliness it was in a very poor state. The sink in our room had a rubber plug fixed in position with a tiny hole approximately 3mm diameter left for drainage, disgusting when you consider you wash shave and brush your teeth in this sink. My daughter and her husband, who were in another room, were left with no hot water to shower. When they asked the attendant why there was no hot water, he informed that the owner had told him to knock the immersion off!! There was a sun canopy on the front of the building left in the open position. We were in the room above this canopy and with the Galway wind, it sounded like you were on the Marie Celeste! We were moved but could still hear it through the building.
Short walk to centre fine for a short stay
Very old fashioned expensive for basic b&b but understand probably reasonable price for races week
Wifi in main house was good. Waited up for us because we arrived late.
Wifi in back house was poor. Breakfast was not good. Found poop in toilet on arrival. Bedspread was dirty.
Free WiFi. Location & breakfast was good
So dissapointing - a glorified hostel. Room felt dirty, wasn't cleaned & to get to the room we had to walk through a shed, old fashioned & completely different to the pictures advertised. Beyond disappointing & considered moving when I first got there but everywhere was booked out.
Everything was filthy, from the duvet cover with stains and hair in it to the cutlery at breakfast. When we mentioned the problem with the duvet cover, the staff member asked us to go back to the room to show her. The staff didn't even tell us when or where breakfast was when we arrived. The furniture is desperately in need of varnishing, but I would probably settle for clean furniture. There were thick layers of dust on the doors, window sill and window frame. There was what appeared to be black mould behind the wash hand basin in the ensuite and the smell of damp in there was overwhelming. The owner is very pleasant and this b+b was very pleasant in the 90s, but it does not show any signs of having been maintained. It is still dining out on a bord failte customer review from 1996 which is framed next to the reception desk. 90 euro a night is a scandalous price for this place and I will never stay here again.
The owner was great and really helpful in planning our travels. Not an amazing guesthouse but for the price and location it was fine for one night.
location, comfortable beds, good wifi
very dirty rooms, poor staff, inability to understand guests needs, lack of matainance abundent, very overpriced for what you recive. average brekfast, lack of dining space when full
Some lights didn't work;bathroom filthy; toilet seat loose; dust in breakfast area; holes in walls and shower screen black with dirt.
