price close to town
unisex bathrooms, wifi was terrible and creaking floorboard during the night kept us awake
Friendly, cosy place, lots of interesting people and lovely personnel.
A nice friendly atmosphere which was basy and full of people from all over the world. A good cheap place to sleep in the centre of Dublin .
Breakfast was chaotic. There was nowhere to sit as there were too many people, and had to wait with a tray of breakfast in my hand.
We (3) paid for a quad room. 4 beds and a bathroom. Nothing fancy. Beds were fine. Had some issues finding the hostel.
We would come back, if traveling with a group of three or four very cost effective.
The location is perfect - 5 minutes from temple bar quarter. The place is clean and is in a good condition. Very helpful staff. Good cafeteria in place.
The four-bedded dorm is small - there is hardly any place left after three of us put our stuff inside. The free breakfast is very humble - granola, milk, toasts with jam and coffee.
Good location, no need to use public transport. Bathroom was clean, good wifi.
Bed blankets had an unpleasant odor, kitchen was not clean, some other guests did not wash their dishes. Meeting facilities were too crowded, too many people were sitting there for a long time, not going anywhere.
Location, price. 24h reception. My plane was late, so I arrived to the hostel at 4.00 a.m. - and the reception was working. Super!
This is a youth hostel, so it is pretty noisy. Also, the walls are very thin, so you can hear the voice if someone is speaking in the room nearby. Bathrooms and toilets are dirty, the free breakfast is very scarce. If you want a better breakfast - you shall pay.
- The staff - The amazing kitchen - The tiny area at the entrance, which allows you to meet people easily - The location
- the WiFi is irregular and uses to bug quite often
In heart of center, Quite small but nice private room.
Pricey for what u get
nice staff, lockers, clean beds, price and location
Free continental breakfast & internet access was nice.
- Plastic on the mattresses - Push button shower that only lasted for 1 minute each push, good for water saving, not good for convenience or practicality - The room was REALLY really small and all the beds were right against each other - Beds were not made nicely so that when I woke up the sheet on the mattress was no longer on the mattress - There were not enough showers or toilets to accommodate for each level - Most things were clean-ish. Could have been better - NO parking at all
Great location, near city center and all the sites. Friendly staff. Cheap.
Sink worked only when constantly pushed down.
Location and the airport connection was just in front of the hostel.Capuccino is perfect at the bald barista.
The room was small and outdated, the en-suite bathroom was way too small and not very clean, and the corridor next to our room was very busy at night. I wouldn't recommend the place if you're over 25.
Location is excellent, nice staff..I would stay here again.
Location was good
Dirt on carpets, Dirt on bed sheets Bed was too hard No hand towel provided for bathroom or any towels provided in the room Common areas could do with a new lick of paint Walls are very thin!! Expensive for what we paid for!
Most of the staff were very friendly except one woman who was very rude and blamed me and the other 5 guests who individually couldn't get our key cards to work...as it turned out it wasn't our fault! The kitchen is big and it was good being able to have a simple breakfast for free before starting the day. The other guests in my 12 bed dorm were on the whole very considerate and lovely. Liked the ipads with wifi, a nice extra.
The key card situation meant I had to visit reception 6 times over the course of 2 days, sometimes getting locked out when just popping to the toilets! The staff didn't try and find out the problem and just reset the card each time. Only confirming that there was an error in the system as I was checking out. The mattresses are way past usable, I can normally sleep anywhere but woke up with a bad back both mornings. I don't expect luxury for such a cheap price but would like to leave injury free!!
5 mins walk from Temple bar cheap
noisy in the night (we were on top floor and a ventilator or other machine was noisy during the whole night), therefore bad sleep
Location and general facilities good
Room had unpleasant smell, only one harsh overhead light, mattresses very hard. Breakfast was poor, only instant coffee and toasters that take forever to toast the bread
I've been in Avalon house twice now and I love it! The staff was always nice and I met so many great people. The facilities are clean and the room too. Avalon house is only a five minute walk away from Grafton street and temple bar. I'd always stay there again and probably will. I really recommend it for your next stay in Dublin
The Wi-Fi isn't the best (I stayed on third floor)
the location the clean sheets and bathroom hot shower and a basic breakfast thrown in
I wasn't aware my 4 bed dorm was mixed It was fine though. Some of the men on reception were better at responding to the younger girls rather than those in the queue. The keys were faulty - I had to return to reception 3 times in the first evening.
I was looking for place to check out and meet new people and the staff were super helpful! They gave great suggestions for bars to meet cool locals and were super familiar with the area! Had a great night!
