Lovely host Good breakfast Plenty of places to eat in town Free parking
Room was a bit cramped
The host is very welcoming and an excellent morning chef. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
Bathroom was small
Host is friendly.
Facility is old. I even cannot touch the towel, I don't know how long it been used.
The owner Pat couldn't have been more accommodating. We asked for a room bug enough for our babies travel cot and this was met. He answered every question and really made our stay enjoyable. The breakfast is fantastic, with plenty of choice and plenty of it. It is a small, family run b&b close to the centre of town and we would recommend to others.
I my the slightest of gripes is the WiFi is a little slow. Fine for web browsing but you couldn't stream video eg SkyGo or Netflix
Close to town, clean and comfortable
EVERYTHING! Our host was the sweetest man in the world and went out of his way to be helpful. He helped carry in our luggage in the rain and also loaned us an umbrella. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was scrumptious. We would highly recommend this B & B and we would definitely stay here again. I even had my husband drive back so I could have my picture taken with the owner.
Host friendly and helpful Great place to explore ring of Kerry. Well located and scenic
The proprietor was exceedingly friendly. There was easy parking and the location while a little out of town was still great and an easy walk to the town center. We had an excellent stay.
The breakfast, accommodation and the owner were awesome.
Within minutes we already knew this bed and breakfast would be wonderful. We arrived late into Kenmare, and were concerned that we may have problems with the reservation; instead, we were greeted by the kindest, most welcoming man, Pat, who led us up to the room and recommended a hotel bar down the street, if we were up for going out. He also asked us whether we’d like pancakes (for the American one of us) and an Irish breakfast (for the Irish one). He gave us a choice of two rooms, both of which were lovely and spacious—one of which had a double bed in case, as he said, we were “into that type of thing.” The bed was comfortable, and all the amenities in the room were in fine order. In the morning, he went all out—he showed us a number of jars of cereals and made us some toast and coffee. We both somewhat assumed that this was “it,” because we made it down a bit later. However, he then came out with the Irish breakfast and delicious pancakes, as promised the night before. He chatted with us about things to do around town, where we were headed (Ring of Kerry), and where I was doing research over the summer. Overall, very charming (and affordable) bed and breakfast made even better by Pat’s charming and engaging personality. We definitely recommend it and would absolutely stay here again if in Kenmare!
rooms were great, owner was very friendly and helpful. breakfast options were great. definitely recommend this to anyone staying in the area.
Pat was extremely helpful in knowing where places are and so jolly and welcoming with a warm smile, nice little chocolates and he's a great cook. You feel right at home here.
Pete the host is just the nicest guy on earth.... the place is just 5min walk from city center...breakfast was delicious too...would definitely recommend!!
Very nice. Terrific small town. Avelow House was centrally located and an easy walk into town. Pat was a terrific host.
Nice tidy B&B with a friendly and helpful owner. Good location and breakfast.
Pat the owner Location Breakfast Everything exceeded our expectations
bathroom 1,3x1,3 meter loud shower system, neighbour started at 6:30 Very small twin room, no place for luggage.
Avelow House is located just on the edge of town, peaceful yet nearby the downtown shops and restaurants. There was a nice walking path from town back to Pat's B&B, much appreciated. Pat is a delightful host with a story or two at the ready. His place has a small number of guest rooms, the back rooms face out to quiet back yards, rooms were large and uncluttered with a large bathroom. Breakfast was made-to-order and also had a nice selection of fresh fruit. We’d stay again.
Excellent breakfast. Pat is very charming. Nice walk to town. Room was comfortable and clean.
Our host was such a dear, very welcoming and cheerful. We loved his sunny breakfast room with all the options and the delicious breakfast. The B&B is conveniently located to enjoy all the region has to offer. Pat was very helpful in accommodating my need to a ground floor room. I really appreciated not having to climb stairs. The rooms were clean and well appointed. There was a comfortable common area and the overall feel of the location was one of welcome.
If you want to feel welcome, have a wonderful breakfast and a good night's sleep-this is an excellent choice. The location is right on the Ring of Kerry and a 10 minute walk into the vibrant town of Kenmare. We also did the Dingle Penninsula from here-about a 1.5 hour drive into the town of Dingle. Pat is a wonderful host-kind and friendly. We would definitely go back!
Stay was very enjoyable. Not to far from town centre. The owner was brilliant and very welcoming.the price was excellent as well
We spent a really nice time in Avelow B&B and liked the comfortable accomodation, the gorgeous breakfast and the warm atmosphere, thanks to our friendly host. We had a blessed time there and we'll be back if we can make it.
