They moved us to a completely different B&B.
The room was ok, room was perfectly clean apart from finding a blonde hair on the bed (we are both dark haired). Just up the street from o Connell st and bus arus.
Extremely rude woman when we checked in, didn't even say hello. Walls were really thin, could hear everything from the rooms on our floor. Shared bathroom was clean but nearly everything in it was broken. Tv buttons were broken and remote control didn't work properly.
Superb location right in the city centre , good value , basic but tasty breakfast.
very basic accommodation , small room thats around 2 metres by 3 meters.
no heating, no hot water, no TV (remote control broken). the worst place i´ve ever been, too expensive.
noise at night someone sing a song
Good staff and great location.
There were stains on the cushion and chair.
Its close to all the shop
Noise with the trafic my room was 107
The only positive I can say was the location.
The room had a bed and nothing else. Nowhere to leave our stuff, like a table a chair or any piece of furniture. The bathroom was awful, basically a toilet and a shower seperately and the staff was quite rude and noisy. I'm sorry to say this but it was really bad for that kind of money
We were nicely surprised, the room was very nice, cleaned every day and even though we ordered room for two without bathroom we got the room with shower. The location is awesome and the breakfasts were too. We paid about 170€ for 4 nights and two persons. If you're in Dublin to enjoy it or work there and you're not going to spend all the time in the hotel, I can reccomend you the Avondale guest house. :)
We loved everything! Very nice breakfast, amazing staff, room was always clean
It gave an option for a smoking room but on arrival was told its no smoking only Tv is tiny with no remote Beds r uncomfortable room is cramped
Location was perfect few mins from bus stop from airport.... Breakfast very good and room very spacious.....
Good food Everything was very very very clean
Building needs renovation
Friendly staff, excellent location in the city centre are the main advantages. "You get what you paid for" could be the motto, as you only get the strict minimum.
Only the bathroom was a bit too small. Fortunately, I'm not too big to enter the shower.
The location was convenient and the staff were good at keeping the place clean. Pretty much everything else sucked however.
I asked for a quiet room and got the noisiest in the place (right by the front door - buzzers all night). No clothes hangers - I ended up going out and buying some. TV was broken and they gave me a remote for it even though it was a push-button (non-remote) TV. Noisy. Cigarette smoke and other smells wafting in all the time. Full Irish Breakfast wasn't a full Irish breakfast in any sense of the word.
Felt like a hostel, no tea making facility, shower didn't drain , leaking ceiling , no lock on bedroom door !! Fighting in the place , husband had to sit all 1night with feet on door as no lock and fighting occurring staff not interested and hostile, sockets hanging off walls no bedside cabinets , the list is endless, very disappointed guest.
We were booked into one hotel, but we're moved to a sister property on arrival. No problem with that. Room was quiet, clean, simple and enquire not exceptional but perfectly pleasant.
It was all fine no major problems, but I can't report on the Avondale as we were in the Glen.
special thanks to Havier who was a big help during our stay.
Good and generous breakfast, good bed, central position,
Luggage in front of our door ( but only our rooms), Tv remote controle doesn't work and can't be fixed
Walking distance to the center, and cheap.
Needs new windows as its on a busy road it's hard to sleep as its so noisy. Tiles loose in bathroom. Lots of Staines on ceiling etc. it could be so much better if they spent some money on it.
Proximity to the bus station and city centre
Everything else. Especially the plumbing in the room with private bathroom, which was not working properly. Had to use rubish bin to flush the toilet. Unacceptable!
Heat in the room wasn't on even when it was raining badly and heat would've being needed
Location and breakfast was good
The place is run down and poorly organised. The place is run down and badly needs an update. Toilet facilities are in between floors so you need to manage stairs to go to the loo. Water pressure on the top floor was low and kept going off altogether.
Loved the room, we where sent to a sister B&B up the street from the Avondale and got a room with a balcony for me a smoker this was a great advantage.
We where told at check in that breakfast was until 11am we went down at 10:15 and where informed by staff that breakfast was over, however the staff did get us toast, tea and orange juice as we where clearly frustrated! This is clearly a case in lack of commutation.
Very eazy to get around good locstion
The sheets on bed had fag burns on them outher then that the room was very clean Also the heating was on andcno way to turn it down in room i had to wake up and open the windown in middle of the nite
