The only positive thing was the warmness of the room.
Very dirty bathroom, room uncleaned and building old, dirty and smelly. At first they put us in a room different than the requested, so we had to change. Later we asked for someone to clean the bathroom, but they only cleaned the floor. Furthermore, we asked for towels and they told us they rented them for two euros. At the end of our stay, we asked for a receipt because they had only given us a notebook sheet, and the answer we got was "no". I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Good position Helpful Staff
nothing to like
The fire door to my dorm room had no handle on the inside to get out.the other door leading to our en suite was secured by a builders concrete block which i had to move back to access the hall and shove back against the door later when i was going out .In the hall the right side leads to the public hall,on the left our en suite bathroom and toilet. The whole place looked manky ,damp on ceiling and walls, everywhere, pools of water all over the floor.Extractor fan broken, toilet door frame coming away from the wall, broken tiles, even the only roll of toilet paper was wet. When i complained to the staff about the conditions, i got no satisfaction, they see anything wrong.there was no other toilet facilities available. There is evidence of someone trying to paint over the years of total neglect but it needs a ball and chain not a paint brush.
front office/reception very friendly. general cleanliness of acceptable standard beddings good washrooms good hall way good
Very very cheap and nice reception workers
Bathroom was kinda bad
The 2 girls at the reception
Never go there Most disgusting place ever Not worth the price
Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Sign in there said "if it's dirty, you clean it". There was hair everywhere and spots with mold. Worst hostel I have ever stayed in by far and I am not that picky.
The shower pressure was good & there were some nice places to eat and get a drink nearby. The staff were also nice
The shower was filthy, the bed incredibly uncomfortable and walls paper thin. Was a complete disappointment.
everything is super dirty, some staff is extremely rude, water wasn't working at one point, showers work poorly.
localization and personnel
We were bitten by bugs in this hostel. In general it was quite dirty inside.
Clean bedroom and comfortable bed. Equiped kitchen.
The staff was rude. The bathroom was HORRIBLE. Dirty, broken and full of people. And I really mean dirty!!! It was disgusting. The kitchen was a mess, but ok. The wifi sucked, always a fail, and no hope to use it from your room.
The receptionist man was bery rude and not even helpful. Toilets are not clean and always rounout of soap I had been there from 19th Oct 2014 to 31st Oct 2014 They didn't even change my bedsheet during my entire stay. Furthermore, i had complain about it at the reception they said they are not providing this servive. I had been used same bed sheet for 12 nights. Please don't go there Thanks Prakash
Reception old man is very Rude He is not even helpful Dirty toilet witout soap and sometimes no toilet paper. There cleaner also living in my room he was so rude as well. Didn't change bed sheet everyday
Not much to like except that it was a short walk from the bus station.
Almost everything. I had booked a room with a private bathroom. On getting there, I was told that there had been a "problem with their computers" and was given a room with a *shared* bathroom. The toilet was in really bad shape and had water all over the floor, and a small roll of toilet paper.
Just the receptionist girl.
Simply the worst place in Dublin to stay: better sleep under a bridge than here. Dirty, old, dusty...
Poor setup. The rooms have been left to fall apart for years. The beds are a joke, a one inch thick mattress on a box of wood. The worst part was no toilet paper, that's beyond budget.
Nothing, only the location.
The hostel is old, musty smells, no comfort, all very dirty and full of humidity. The staff wants to put people to sleep in a two story house with no bathroom in the backyard I had to insist to have a room in the building. has no place to put your luggage. the kitchen close at 12:00 check in is at 15:00.... could not be worse.
The location is excellent
The toilets are awful, there aren't clean neither in good shape. The staff don't treat you very well.
great location, other than that take your chances on the streets
there was no hot water the first morning, no water at all the second morning and when the water came on a load of brown stuff came out...the same water we had been drinking, absolutely disgusting
Close to city centre
Room cleaning inadequate
No internet conection in the room Kitchen is closed between 12 and 5pm! No curtains in the room- I woke up early morning with light every day Train is passing exactly behind the window and it's noisy There were no other fernitures in the room other than beds and a few chairs The bathroom is only on the ground floor and one small bathroom is on the first floor but there are rooms at the second and third as well The kitchen is dirty
no parkingspace! But arround was a carpark. Unfriendly owner.
Staff - very friendly
The dormitory was not in the D1 Hostel. It was in an Hostel in the neigbarhood. the bathroom and the dormitory was really dirty, the staff could not give any advices about dublin or what you should do or about some papers in the front of the reception and was unfriendly
Apart from the location, nothing.
When we arrived, we were rudely told that there wasn't room for us and we needed to go down to their other hostel down the street, the Chelsea Hostel. When we arrived there they also told us at first that they had no room for us. After we again, showed our booking itinerary, they reluctantly checked us in but we were unable to go to the room and told to leave our luggage in a dirty overflowing luggage room, which anyone can have access to by just asking for a key. I didn't feel my belongings were very safe. We had booked a Triple room with 1 double and 1 single bed and when we arrived back later that night to check in fully, we were placed in a room with 3 bunks instead. The room was dirty and the bathroom was worse. I can't even describe the shower (which didn't even have hot water - we didn't use it). Internet was poor and the staff unhelpful. They blamed Booking.com for the fault with our booking saying that Booking.com overbooked them. As it was the night of the All-Ireland Final we realised that we wouldn't be able to find another place at such short notice (it was already after 10pm) so we had no other choice but to stay the night. I would never go back there, ever.
bring with you your towels...they cost 2 euros each in the hostel
