Host was very helpful and welcoming. Lovely twin room and lovely breakfast to follow.
Quiet retreat, peaceful b&b. Will go back again!
Absolutely everything, a wonderful welcome, followed by a beautiful home and en suite room with sitting area, breathing view of the mountains host furnished great tips on what to do, delicious breakfast. The host and hostess were so nice and kind, great conversations!
Very nice area, lovely accommodation and welcoming host.
Everything about this place was wonderful - people, facilities and location but especially the people. So glad we found it. Even the nearby village, Clonbur, excelled itself. The walk takes 15 minutes and Eddie's bar is great for a meal.
There was nothing to dislike.
The house was really unique and beautiful! The breakfast was incredible!
The room and en suite was very comfortable and the house was located in a beautiful setting away from the road. There were nearby woodland walks you could take.
For an Irish person, the breakfast finishes a little too early - 9.15!
Ann was the hostess with the mostest! Amazing breakfast in a lovely dining room. Flowers everywhere and beautiful landscape maintained by Barry, Ann's husband.
Position Friendly Helpfull
The setting is beautiful: the lake is on view and a walk through the forest is straight from the house. Barry and Ann are lovely hosts, and the breakfast is lovely. The house itself is quite beautiful. If you are in the Clonbur area, don't miss the Ballykine House.
ballykine house is beautifully situated, nice walks around. Anne and Barry, the owners do Ballykine House were kindness itself. The house has everything to make for a pleasant stay, the recliner chairs in the lounge area of our room were comfortable for watching the TV, Irish breakfasts were delicious with assortment of home made bread and cereals. 10/10 to Anne and Barry.
We took the suite which is Nice and big room, very clean, comfort big bad, Ann is nice person, Value for money , Recommended!
Shower water flow and drain is a bit low , Cash payment only.
The Ballykine House was the picture perfect B&B. Starting with Ann, a wonderful hostess. We arrived late (9pm) and she told us where to go that would still be serving dinner. The next morning , there was a beautiful and delicious breakfast. This B&B spoiled us for the rest of our trip. Being this was our first B&B in Ireland we thought they would all be like the Ballykine. We did stay at some great places but the Ballykine was THE NICEST. Beautiful scenery, we had a view of the lake from our bedroom. Just gorgeous views everywhere.Hiking trails all over. Close to Cong which is a lovely little town. Ann's husband told us how to get to Ashford Castle by taking this beautiful walk along the river. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
owners have a great love of the beautiful landscape the house is situated in and have a great respect and knowledge of the local fauna and flora, great!
Ann and Barry were very knowledgable about the area and their advice made our trip easier and more enjoyable.
Beautifully decorated period house adjacent to a park woodland with trails to the lake and lake views from the house. The setting is country with a warm ambiance.
Peaceful location. Elegant interior and special touches. Lush natural surroundings and beautiful views.
Fantastic location with stunning views. Beautiful house with interesting history. Great size bedrooms, delicious breakfast with a very helpful & welcoming Anne. Would highly recommend.
Stunning property and quiet location with views of the lake in the distance. Large beautiful bedroom with our own separate sitting room. Lovely cooked breakfast, and the owner was kind and gave helpful suggestions and had printed tourist drives on hand, which I recommend to follow. A little out of town but countryside was stunning.
Everything! Beautiful historic building close to Cong. Has trails nearby. Hostess Ann is very nice and helpful.
Very personable host who answered our every question. Beautiful property and generous-sized suite.
Booking.com should make clearer that this host does not accept credit cards.
It is a lovely and quiet home and setting and has gardens, woods and trails to explore. Ann was very pleasant and eager to be helpful with suggestions for exploring and places to eat.
One of the signs to Ballykine is a little unclear, so be sure to follow Ann's directions.
Spectacular location overlooking the forest and lakes. A very historic house where the owners Ann and Barry have lots of tales to share. We took the short stroll through the forest to Clonbur which was magical. Very enjoyable stay.
Pleasant double bedroom with adequate shower ensuite. Well-presented common areas with library and antique furniture. Good parking and very pleasant surrounding grounds. Nice Irish breakfast. Very quiet and restful.
Location - very nice grounds but a rather dangerous 1 mile walk into Clonbur if one wants to go out for the evening. No information about transportation into town. No sockets for camera/phone charger available in bedroom. As an angler I would have appreciated an offer of a packed lunch - but there was none.
Anne was lovely. We got lost & she helped us to get there. Her home is really lovely. Could not fault a thing. All home made bread & jams which we were given for our travels Cheryl & Phil from Australia
Nothing. Not enough time to enjoy
